First off… Happy Monday!!!!! Hope you had a great Mother’s Day! I wrote about ours in my My Mother’s Day post.
This morning was a little rough. Ugh.
Somehow I always forget to latch this darn gate.
And then who knows what I’ll find…………
I needed a warm Amazing Straw-nana Cereal Cake (the boys did too) and a STRONG latte pronto. And.. a little dose of my Mother’s day present from my mom.
Funny little story. I drive around with this OBNOXIOUS sticker on the back of my car for STUFT Fitness.
Dang, my car is dirty. Anyway.. got a call this morning from a lady who just wanted to let me know that my sticker was not legible. Well, thank you for your concern. I know it’s hard to read, but I’m not about to spend money on a new one (I just bought an expensive camera for crying out loud). Maybe if I ever get a new car I’ll get a better sticker………. ha ha ha!
Okay, moving on…
I always try to make weekly goals on Mondays. I look back on last week’s goals, see how they went and then make some new ones (or write down the same ones that I didn’t quite achieve).
So.. I’m not sure I want to (because I didn’t do that great of a job on all of my goals for last week) but, I guess I’ll look back on them.
- I DID blog on here once a day. Yay!
- DID NOT get to bed before midnight except for maybe 2 nights.
- No comment. See photo.
- DID NOT go out to recruit more stroller moms.
- I was 2 miles short.
- DID save Incredible Ice Cream Pie for Friday night (wasn’t easy).
- DID enjoy EVERY minute with my boys (yes, all three).
So…. here’s to a new week and a new set of goals. It’s nice to have them in writing. It holds me accountable in a way. In becoming a personal trainer, I learned about how different goals work better for different people. Sometimes you have to focus on changing a behavior, sometimes it’s the ultimate outcome, or sometimes you just need a SMART goal (specific, measureable, attainable, realistic, time-bound). I think mine vary depending on what I really want and if they’re short term goals or LONG term ones.
Hmm… this week:
- Tackle my darn office. Organize, organize, organize!
- Get at least 6 hours of sleep a night (had to modify last week’s goal).
- Write on here everyday.
- Organize this darn blog. I’m still so new at this I feel like it’s all over the place.
- Put an at-home strength training workout on here that people can do at home.
Okay, those are the only ones I’m going to focus on. My workout/running routine is pretty consistent and I don’t have any big races coming up to really have to train for.
I do have a little secret goal that I’ve been slowly working towards for about a year now.
I’m really not sure if it’s attainable, but I‘m not ready to throw in the towel just yet. These are the LAST pair of designer jeans I’ll probably ever buy. I bought them on a whim when I was 8 months pregnant. No trying them on. Just fell in love with them. They’ve been sitting in my closet since. Not sure how I feel about it because I’m pretty comfortable where I’m at right now weight-wise. There’s always some improvement I can do, but I’m not a fan of “dieting” and I think part of enjoying life is letting yourself indulge a little and just appreciating the body you have. We’ll see. I may be visiting “my old friend” (aka Nordstrom) just like I did in last weeks post again to say “bye” to these guys. I’ll keep you updated.
Anyway…. here’s a GREAT inspirational article about being persistent and overcoming obstacles to reach your goals. Once you find a goal you’re really passionate about (whether it’s a race, work, etc.) you need to know that you’ll be faced with obstacles along the way, but you CAN get to the end result and achieve your goals. If it’s something you really want to do…… GO FOR IT!
Here’s the link. http://www.womenshealthmag.com/life/success-secrets. I wrote about it on the STUFT Fitness website also.
And it inspired me for this shirt design for our workouts.
Man, I’m HUNGRY. Sushi leftovers here I come! Have a great day!!!!!
