Waking Up Is Hard To Do

Well, hello! Happy Wednesday.Smile Want to see what I found when I woke up yesterday?

Someone had gotten ahold of the first aid kit in the changing table. That’s nice.

Yes, those are scissors in his hand. Ugh. Luckily there were no small parts in that bag. NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING is safe anymore. Our family friend told us awhile back that things in our house were just going to keep getting higher and higher. I didn’t quite understand what he meant…… until recently. Oh, what I wouldn’t give for some tall shelving units all over our house. Ha!

I backed away to access the situation and see if I could figure out how Judah got this. And……

Really? That easy? Gosh darn it. I need to be careful. Does anyone else have these problems? Doesn’t this look harmless?

Okay, on to breakfast…….. I had something AMAZING to look forward to. Last night I was so excited because I was down to my last little bit SunButter in the jar.

Overnight oats you say? Okay! (Hey, that rhymes.) Here’s what I put in the jar.

Overnight Oats (with a little less oats)

  • 1/2 cup FAGE 0% (any nonfat Greek yogurt works)
  • 1/2 cup light vanilla soy milk (I used Soy Slender)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 2 tablespoons old fashioned oats (as opposed to 1/4 cup)
  • 1 banana
  • 1 packet Splenda
  • a little cinnamon
  • a splash on vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon of SunButter (there may have been a little more in the jar) Smile

So…. after I had my little piece of humble pie this morning with Judah’s antics, I had this little present waiting for me in the fridge.

Really, how silly that I was that excited over this (it did kind of feel like Christmas morning though). Anyway…. this DID NOT disappoint. I was worried it might be a little too runny because I decreased the amount of oats, but I doubled the amount of chia seeds and it was just awesome (not to mention fun to eat out of the jar). Look at this thing.

I topped it with about 1/3 cup of Kashi GoLean (that’s all that would fit) for a little crunch. Smile

Just freaking fabulous.

The boys had their Scrambled Oatmeal (a packet of Trader Joe’s instant oatmeal cooked in 1/2 cup hot water and about 1/3 cup egg substitute (microwaved together for 3:33). Yummy!

We were off to Strollerwise for a workout and then I spent the afternoon in the kitchen making some Tortellini Soup and Corn Bread Turkey Dog Muffins (hmm.. I think I need a better title for that) to take to my friend who had a beautiful baby boy a couple of weeks ago. Smile I will post the recipes tomorrow. It’s too late right now.

I didn’t get on the treadmill until 8:30 tonight and that was pretty brutal. It’s so hard to make yourself run sometimes when you’re so tired. Fortunately, I had some Sex and the City DVDs for entertainment while running. My schedule is thrown off since my boyfriend Bob ditched me for our weekly Tuesday night date. (Remember the Biggest Loser Party?) Luckily we’re Facebook friends so I don’t feel too neglected. Smile

Oh, and at some point this week I WILL create a page about my weight issues in the past (holy moly, lots of issues). I’m in a pretty good place now although a couple of weeks ago I shared some of the struggles I still have- like those 7 pesky pounds (now down to 6) I’m slowly working on. Anyway….here’s a little preview of my college (freshman 15 20). I have more pictures that are much worse, but this one just makes me laugh and I thought you might get a kick out of it.

Christmas funny

Ha ha ha! I guess I’m going to find out if my brother ever reads this or not. That’s from Christmas of 1995. My mom had the idea to make that cool tumbleweed “snowman”. Isn’t that awesome? She’s my hero.

Time to go now. BYE!

You are so nice. College days were fun- I wouldn’t trade them for the world. :) But what’s with my outfits? And the scrunchy on my wrist? Why didn’t you help me? ha!Yes, overnight oats are going to be the must-have breakfast of the summer.
