Sunday “Supreme”

Sunday “Supreme”

Before I get to today, since I’ve been in such a good mood since Mom and my casino date, I thought I’d show you a picture of the last time I stepped foot in a casino.

Ha ha ha! Funny, huh? That was December of 2009 about 5 days before I had the twins. I didn’t even realize I was that big. I got A LOT of weird looks walking through the casino and was wondering what the big deal was. Smile I kind of get it now looking at this picture.

Oh, and I realized that I forgot to include the protein powder in my mocha frap swap from yesterday’s post also. So…… here’s the updated recipe.

Mmm…. Mocha Frap Madness

  • 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 3/4 cup light vanilla soymilk
  • 1 tablespoon instant espresso
  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
  • 1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1-2 splenda packets
  • pinch of xanthan gum
  • crushed ice

Put all ingredients in a blender or Magic Bullet. Blend until smooth. Put in cool cup and sip slowly (to avoid brain freeze). Smile  Ha ha ha!

This version was about 160 calories. I used Designer Whey Vanilla Almond Protein Powder (and added a little bit of almond extract).  I also like to do half almond milk and half soy milk, but do whatever you prefer. Low fat or fat free milk could totally work also. I have a feeling I’ll be drinking a lot of these this summer.

Oh, and a quick look at our Filippi’s dinner last night.

Antipasto salad (I don’t eat any of the meat- Andrew takes care of that) and then veggie pizza. It’s usually my post-race celebration meal, but I haven’t had any big races recently so we were craving it.

Now…. Sunday “Supreme”….

Today started out wonderfully. I got on the treadmill at 6 am (which wasn’t easy), ran 10 miles while watching “Footloose” (one of the best movies ever), took a shower and had some hooligan pancakes with my boys.

Things took a turn when Joaquin chucked his play cell phone at my face. I now have a lump on my nose and had a huge headache all day. I really hope this isn’t a sign of things to come. Ugh. I tried to try to sleep the headache off while they napped, but that didn’t work. I should’ve know better, no matter how TIRED I am, I can’t nap. My mind just never stops. I need to learn how to relax- maybe one of these days.

Anyway…….. I got up and needed something easy for a snack so I could tackle some chores while the boys were still sleeping. I knew EXACTLY what I needed (yes, needed, not wanted). Smile

Luckily, the other day there WONDERFUL package left at my doorstep.

(I get excited about any packages, but this one I was ESPECIALLY excited about.) The fabulous people over at ProSource sent me a package of their amazing protein bars to sample.

Look what happened though while I was trying to take a picture of the package.

Nice. And that’s a snail shell in Joaquin’s mouth hand. Yuck!!!!

Back to the package………… look what was inside…

Double AWESOME!!!

I have preface this by saying that these are my FAVORITE brand of protein bars EVER!!!! I’ve been buying them for awhile. Really, they taste like candy and have saved me millions of times from downing a whole package of Reese’s. I like them so much I wrote to the company and asked if I could be a part of their Team Supreme (I realize that most members are professional athletes/ celebrities, but I have high hopes and I’m not giving up yet- maybe someday……). Ha!

I got into these new flavors of Supreme Protein bars this afternoon. I started with the Peanut Butter and Jelly one.

Okay, YUM!!!!!!!!! Look how cute!

That peanut butter coating was just ridiculous. This bar had it all- peanut butter coating, whey protein crisps, fruit jelly, and whey protein.

It reminded me of Smucker’s Uncrustables sandwich. Yum!!!!!

Then….. because I wanted to have a complete review (okay, really, I just wanted another one- I had only planned on having one, but it was just too good), I decided to go for the Peanut Butter Pretzel Twist Flavor also (at 200 calories a bar, I decided it was okay).

This one did NOT disappoint either. In fact it was FABULOUS! I’m a sucker for dipped pretzels (chocolate, peanut butter, yogurt, etc.- I love the salty/sweet combination). This bar had just that. Peanuts, pretzels, caramel, whey protein, and more of that delicious peanut butter coating. Holy cow.

A-MAZ-ING!!!!!! Smile I will definitely be ordering more of these. They have a lot of different flavors and the one I recently bought (before receiving the samples)was the Peanut Butter Chocolate one. Red heart

Okay, it’s almost 10:00 pm and I was hoping to get in bed early tonight. Oops. There’s some leftover pizza in the fridge calling my name and some STUFT Fro Yogurt chilling in the freezer. I think I’ll watch a little Gossip Girl while I indulge (and maybe paint my fingernails). What a great way to end the weekend. Tomorrow is that start to a whole new week. MO in action and getting serious about saying goodbye to those 7 pesky pounds (now just 5 1/2, but probably not after my leftovers right now. ha!)

Good night!!!!!!!!
