Hello! How was your Father’s Day? This weekend FLEW by. Holy moly. Here are a few highlights:
After my Kitty post on Friday, I tried to get the boys to color some bookmarks for Andrew for Father’s Day.
That did NOT go how I thought it would. Maybe it’ll be better next year. ha!
Then we (yes, WE) attempted a longer run with the stroller in anticipation for a 15K race coming up in a couple of weeks. Hmmmmmmm…… I’m kicking myself for not running with the stroller more often. Ugh. The boys are getting heavy and I’m getting SLOW!!! Yikes. I have two weeks to get my butt in gear.
For the record, I forgot to stop the timer so it didn’t take me quite that long (and my pace was NOT a 39 minute mile), but I did really take my time. I have a feeling this race is not going to be as I originally thought.
Friday night was Las Brasas. Mmm… Andrew went to get us food. I tried the chicken burrito for a change (I usually order the exact same thing every time- veggie burrito, no sour cream). Hey, look at all that hot sauce.
Ummm….. the chicken burrito was amazing!!!!! Do you see all that yummy white meat chicken? LOVED it! I have a new favorite thing to order now! Andrew was NOT very pleased that I wanted to take pictures of my burrito at 9:00 at night. Oops. I should’ve put the camera away, but instead I took a picture of my SkinnyGirl margarita (which I still think needs a little something else added to it).
The double chocolate were good, but the caramel ones (from this post) were WAY better.
Saturday was a long morning of teaching boot camp and YMCA classes.
Came home to this
Yes, that’s right. Cat barf and dirty cat footprints in the tub. Ugh. Maybe Kitty was mad about my post from Friday. Maybe he wanted one more good picture that really showed off his chest like this one
Ha ha ha! If you missed the story about Kitty click here to get the scoop.
Oh, and the boys were up to their usual antics.
Thank goodness I had some chocolate afternoon oats and yogurt to get me through the day.
In the bowl-
- 2 tablespoons oats
- 1/2 cup FAGE 0%
- 1 tablespoon my favorite cocoa powder
- 2 splenda packets
- 1 tablespoons chia seeds
- 1 banana
- 1/2 cup coconut milk
- a little vanilla
I only let it sit for about an hour and a half, but it was still just like overnight oats. I experimented with a 3 minute microwave PB2 cookie too. Here’s a sneak peak.
I need to tweak the recipe a bit before I post it.
Andrew barbequed Saturday night while I was in charge of the wine.
I have the best husband ever! His chicken marinade was low fat Italian dressing, Coors Light and some Marie Sharp’s Hot Sauce. Soooo good! Check out my potato too- I just put a little salt and pepper, a Laughing Cow Light Cheese wedge, a little Marie Sharp’s hot sauce and a little salsa (on the side). Oh wait, I just remembered, I was in charge of the potatoes too (not just the wine). And cleaning all the squash.
Look at the cool cards I got for the special occasion.
Andrew had to work (he say’s that the birds at the Safari Park always have to eat- that’s why he never has holidays off). So we had our banana hooligan pancakes by ourselves.
Then the boys and I went to church. Woo hoo! Donuts for Dads!!! ( I stayed away, but the boys got their first taste of donuts. Thank you Grandpa.)
And as usually, a quick diaper change in the bathroom. I can change a diaper anywhere!!!!
Oh, and I got a little distracted afterwards.
Some more PB2 cookie experimentation in the afternoon (I need to tweak the recipe a bit before I post it). I tried 3 different versions of it (two of them ended up in the trash- okay, okay, maybe just 1 1/2). Tomorrow I think I’ll get it just right! I can’t wait!!!!!
and then a TV delivery from my bro and his friend.
Kitty and I watched to make sure they didn’t screw anything up.
I helped myself to the coolio vest that was in the back of my brother’s car. Ummm….. can my chin get any higher? What is that?
Hey, speaking of “Chin’s”, that’s where we went to dinner.
Happy Father’s Day.
Two year ago we gave my dad a card with this inside.
With a bottle of Kettle One. Too funny. What a good gift, right? It was a huge surprise.
You better Belize it! (LONG story- different time.)
Anyway…….. I’m soooo lucky to have such amazing men in my life.
The best DAD
