For some reason when I woke up today it really felt like summer. Things are so different now that I’m not teaching during the school year. I would live for summers and just watch TV, go swimming, workout, do projects around the house, spend lots of money, etc. Now…………………. things are a LITTLE different. I’m busy EVERY day. This summer it’s my goal to SLOW down and spend some quality family time. I felt like we got to do that over the weekend and it was fabulous. I know the official first day of summer was last week, but today is mine. Smile

I got out my “summer scents”.

I have different perfumes and lotions I wear depending on the season. I also  have certain scented Bath and Body Works wallflowers and hand soaps that go with the season also (they happen to be having a really good sale right now). Man, I have issues. This morning I made sure everything was in tune with the summer season. Smile

Do you think I have enough lotion? And I have my other winter/fall scents on a box in the closet. Ha ha ha! (They are all a couple years old. Lotions don’t go bad do they?)

On to some Monday motivation…………………….

All Star Health posted this quote on their Facebook page today.

“‘Those who do not find time for exercise will have to find time for illness.’
-Earl of Derby”

Isn’t that a great one? Sometimes you don’t think of it that way. You just think that you don’t feel like exercising or some people only exercise because they want to lose weight, etc. But………….. exercise is amazing and has so many benefits. We should never take our health for granted. You are lucky if you can move your body- so do it!!!!!!

We moved this morning at Strollerjam. (I’m getting a little more nervous about pushing the stroller in the race next week, but oh well. We’ll see what happens.)

These Plumtot organics packs saved me on the way home. They’re awesome!

Nice sweaty hair (and silly reflective glasses).

Need some motivational tunes to help you get moving? Here are my favorite songs to work out to right now. I use them a lot in my spin class and when I’m running. Smile

  • Give Me Everything (feat. Ne-Yo, Afrojack & Nayer)    4:16    Pitbull
  • Forget You    3:44    Cee Lo Green
  • The Edge of Glory    5:21    Lady GaGa
  • Club Can’t Handle Me [From “Step Up 3D”]    3:53    Flo Rida
  • Dynamite    3:24    Taio Cruz
  • DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love (feat. Pitbull)    3:42    Usher
  • Footloose    3:47    Kenny Loggins
  • Don’t Stop Believin’    4:09    Journey
  • Dog Days Are Over    4:13    Florence + The Machine
  • Mrs. Robinson (Remastered)    3:46    The Lemonheads
  • I Like It (feat. Pitbull)    3:52    Enrique Iglesias

No workout play list is complete without at least one Journey song and one Kenny Loggins song, right? You can’t NOT want to work out (or dance) when you listen to these songs. Smile Remember the No Pants Dance? ha ha ha!

Take a look at this bad boy-

Overnight less oats (made with cottage cheese instead of Greek yogurt) with a Chobani strawberry yogurt, some Trader Joe’s organic trek mix, strawberries and a spoonful of SunButter. OMG.

And even better when eaten with a coolio tea spoon from Bed, Bath and Beyond for $1.99.

And……… a new version of the microwave muffin.

Have a good Monday! See you tonight. I’ll try to post the low fat banana muffin recipe before stupid Bentley shows his face The Bachelorette.

Catching up on posts from the weekend?

    I Think I Have a Problem

  • A Quick Check In
  • Me Again
    • Question of the day: What is your favorite song to workout to? I need some new ideas for my spin classes! Help! Smile

Pitbull and Flo Rida? I would have never thunk it!

The Girl Talk “All Day” album is fun times. The DJ “mashes up” 80s and 90s songs with the current hip-hoppy songs. (It’s uncensored, though.) Anywayz, I like it a lot. Upbeat, easy to dance to. Two snaps up.

Anything 80’s works for me to work out. I’m a big fan of the Jacksons…Michael and Jackson have some amazing songs to get you pumped.
Also like John Mellencamp and Bruce Springsteen. YAY! Excited that you’re teaching tonight.

Dude, my workout music is beyond outdated… JT and Black Eyed Peas and other songs that are at least 3 years old. I REALLY needed songs T the exact right tempo when I started running a few years ago, so that original playlist has Pink’s So What and Promiscuous by Nelly Furtado… now I just run/work out to whatever I like so I just make a genius playlist from some Killer’s song 🙂

I made this muffin today, but made a few changes. I used 1 TBL of Quinoa Flakes instead of Oats b/c I can’t have Oats. They are much finer then Oats so 1 TBL was plenty. I also wanted to cut down on calories from banana so I added 2 TBL of canned pumpkin puree. I used 2 b/c I find that a lot of these muffins taste a bit over eggy (not a word ). On top I cut down the PB2 to a half a serving and used just water as usual, and mine is with chocolate. This was AWESOME! I am going to put Apple Butter on top tomorrow. Thanks so much for creating such an awesome recipe for me to build on to 🙂 Love this site….
