Opposites In 10

 

My goal is to get this done in ten (minutes that is). My Trader Joe’s dough is sitting out and has 10 more minutes before I need to work with it to make some Cheesy Wild Bread STUFT Style. Mmm…… my Bachelor Pad treat! Smile

This dough is fabulous by the way and is on my Trader Joe’s favorite’s list. I keep it in the freezer (of course).

Mondays around here are nuts. I’m in the car for a total of 2 1/2 hours (making two trips to the coast and back) and teach 4 hours of classes. Strollerjam in the morning, and then a high intensity cardio class, back and abs class and a step class at night. Phew. I think that’s why I get so excited for dinner and sitting on the couch Monday nights (and why I eat a lot). It just HAPPENS to be the same night The Bachelor Pad is on. I’m definitely NOT complaining. Ha!

Anyway, we had some seriously funny things going on today that made me think of opposites.

On our way TO class this morning this is what was going on in the back seat.

Then once we got home:

Judah was asleep AGAIN and Joaquin was ready to party

and get into anything he could in the front yard while I tried to get Judah out of the car (which didn’t go well).

At Lunchtime I loved my spicy kale chips while Joaquin needed a little time to recover from the HEAT. (He was begging for them, okay).

My kale chips went with a Flatout wrap sandwich with some Costco rotisserie chicken, jalapeño yogurt dip, light jarlsberg, broccoli slaw, some romaine and a jalapeño.

He recovered rather quickly and moved on to his huge “poon”. I used my small teeny tiny fork for my second course.

Second course was a roasted apple with cinnamon with some PB2 mixed with soymilk. It didn’t turn out that great though. I thought the apple might get crunchy like kale chips., It didn’t. It tasted good, but was a little floppy. hence I had to use this awesome utensil.

Oh, and thanks Beth for the smallest fork ever. I love it! Smile

Then as I made a dinner for the boys I got annoyed with this stuff.

It is NOT my favorite. It does NOT “cling”.

But, THIS wrap is freaking amazing! I love this stuff!

How can Glad be so wrong and so right at the same time?

Okay, times up. Especially if I’m getting to bed by my new curfew. Oh, and I got an email today with this article from Health.com.

7 Tips for The Best Sleep Ever

Hmm…. well, it’s good timing since sleep is a main priority this week, but it make take a little work to get all the tips in. I AM going to eat some whole wheat cheesy bread in about 10 minutes, I’m pretty sure The Bachelor Pad isn’t scary, and I can set some mood lighting for my “party”.  I guess I have to turn off my phone and the computer too. Alright, if it’ll help me sleep. Smile

Off to the “party”. (Well, I need to make the cheesy bread first.) See you tomorrow! I have a yummy Cherry Cheesecake Smoothie recipe for you that the boys have been LOVING!

    Hi!! I want to start by coming clean…I am mildly obsessed with you right now. Now, don’t go getting all creeped out..it’s a good kinda obsessed..maybe more like you’re inspiring me like crazy since I found your blog. I am a 33 year old momma of one beautiful/crazy 18 month old little boy, that wants to create a healthy life for myself and my family sooo bad. I gained waay too much weight during my pregnancy and got kicked in the butt by some mean nasty postpartum depression SO..I am trying my hardest to use exercise and tons of good-for-us food to feel better! (I just know you wanted my entire health history right?? 😉 Anyway..I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your blog and I relate to SO many of your daily struggles with the twins (although I just have one!)..love your smoothies, snack ideas…etc. Keep up the good work! I can tell by your posts that you are one busy lady..but what you do on this blog helps people (me!) tremendously. So glad I found your site…Julie

      Hi Julie! Thank you for such an amazing comment! 🙂 Of course I want to know your entire health history. 🙂 Thanks so much for reading and for coming clean. ha! I come clean about WAY too much on here. My life is a bit nuts, and I get a little nervous sometimes putting it all out there and think that people probably don’t even care, so comments like these keep me going! Isn’t it weird how perspective changes once your a mom to want to create a healthy life for everyone and not just yourself? Man, it’s hard work. And I have to say you are AWESOME for getting out there and dealing with postpartum depression. I can’t imagine how hard dealing with something like that is. So glad you found the site and hope you keep coming back! Yay! PS- aren’t 18 month old boys exhausting? Ha!

        I actually grinned to see that you replied to my comment (so silly..but I did) 🙂 Yes, 18 month old’s are exhausting, and again, I only have one! I can only imagine the energy you exhert (that’s a word, right?) by dealing with your babies AND teaching exercise classes AND going to strollerwise (which is such a good idea and I wish I could find one in Nashville!). You are a mommy machine! I love the fact you put who you are and what goes on in your life, in your posts. The one where you scrubbed the doody stain out of your tub forever? I’ve SO been there…like last week actually. That’s what keeps me coming back to blogs..actually putting themselves out there, and letting me know that I’m not the only one who struggles with stuff. (over eating, doody stains, not enough sleep..etc) I am just entering the world of healthy living, and it’s a bit overwhelming. But I’m taking it one step at a time. I’ve signed up for a 5k October 15th (AHHH!!) and I’m a few weeks into my C25k training! Yay for me cause I’ve NEVER exercised in my life..seriously. But I knew I needed a change. So here I go!!!! Okay…so sorry for the LONG reply..can you tell I haven’t “talked” to anyone but an 18 month old all day??? 🙂 Oh..and go to bed on time!! – Julie

          Yay for you! That is AWESOME that you signed up for a 5k. 🙂 I’m so excited for you! Thanks for saying that you like seeing my day to day crazy life. I wonder if I should not include that stuff, but then I think, hey. that’s what my life is and hopefully someone out there will relate (or maybe just find it entertaining). 🙂
          PS- the boys don’t always stay in the cart really well. We’ve had our momments and a few stores we won’t be returning to anytime soon! 🙂

    I always wondered about the TJ’s pizza dough…since you said it’s good I should try it! How do you cook it? Do you need a pizza stone for it?
