Well, after our EXPENSIVE Costco trip yesterday, we’re officially “staying in”. That’s right. We have so much food in the house and I’m determined to not spend anymore money on food until we eat what we have. Want to take a look?

Holy moly. We could feed A LOT of people. My challenge is to just buy fresh fruits and vegetables for a little while until we eat all of our stocked food (or at least make a significant dent). I might have to get a little creative, but I think that’ll be a good thing.
Hmmm….. I don’t know if I have enough almond milk to last though.
Ha ha ha!
Now for catching up……
I also wanted to share a couple of easy meals I put together the past couple of nights. A lot of the dinners I put on here are just what I eat late at night by myself (I teach aerobics classes 3 nights a week and get home late). I thought I should share a few things I made for the boys and Andrew.
A couple of nights ago I put together a pack of Trader Joe’s single serving mac and cheese and some broccoli slaw. I just put them all together before microwaving it and added about 1/2 cup more water. I microwaved it for 5 minutes instead of 3.
Then added some cooked turkey dogs (I know not the healthiest, but we had them in our freezer and we’re “staying in”).
Again, not the healthiest, but the boys loved it and at least I know they got a few vegetables and so so easy. (Andrew did NOT eat this.)
Last night I made up these raviolis from Costco.
Definitely not as good as the other Costco raviolis. Topped them with some marinara and some of this spaghetti seasoning I also bought yesterday.
Dinner was served.
Wait, actually, dinner was prepared.
Ha ha! The package even had enough for a few more meals to put away. Love that!
Then, I thought I was brilliant because I made these cut little “sandwiches” for dessert for the boys.
Apple slices and SunButter. They were a big hit! Loved that they were bite size and like a mini sandwich. The boys ate them just like they would an oreo.
Last night I finished my Bachelor Pad “party” with some broccoli slaw spaghetti with some cheese sandwiches. I cooked up some kale and a garlic clove with the slaw before adding marinara and fresh basil.
Oh my goodness, this picture reminds me that I didn’t mention I bought Flatout wraps from Costco yesterday. Those are pretty much a given though. I buy them ALL the time. So many things to do with them. Cheese sandwiches, cinnamon crisps, sandwich wraps, etc. I eat at least one a day. And…. last Saturday I got these in the mail.
I thought I should share the love. Then I thought I’d share some pantry love too. I found some yummy snacks (when I was digging through there to see how much food we actually had).
And I found these samples that the nice people over at Naturally More sent me awhile back.
Anyway, here’s a little giveaway for you. 2 winners will get:
a Flatout coupon (if you haven’t tried these yet, you HAVE to)
a bag of Peak Foliage trail mix
a bag of Seapoint Farms Dry Roasted Edamame with Goji Berries
a bag of Bhudja fruit and nut mix
3 Naturally More single serving samples
Here’s all you have to do to enter-
- go get your FREE Dannon Coupon for their new Activia Selects yogurt (if you haven’t already)
just click here to find out how to get it
- leave me a comment here telling me you did and telling me your favorite yogurt topping
- you can also leave a comment (after getting your coupon of course) telling me what you like to read about. I’m still trying to figure out how I really fit into the healthy living blog world. I always have things and recipes that I save and want to write about, but then end up just writing about daily life. I think maybe if I focus just on daily life happenings (even though my family will get even more annoyed than they are now with my picture taking) and incorporate my creations along the way it might be easier (as opposed to saving a week of lunches I want to share- which I still need to do).
Yay! I’ll pick the winners Friday morning! Hope you’re having a good day!
Oh, and I’m new to Twitter. Someone needs to give me a “Twittorial”. Can anyone help me?
