Try This, Skip That and a MOTW

Hello! Hope you all had a good weekend and got to spend quality time with your loved ones. Our weekend here was extra long due to our power outage.

This week is going to be super busy and my schedule is going to be more hectic than ever.  I’m starting to teach a few new classes and starting a new job. Yikes. I’m not good with change so I’m a little anxious about everything, but this morning I’m up, showered,  and hopefully ready to take all the changes head on. (Hopefully I have an hour of “work” time before the boys get up.) Smile

Try This

I wrote about finding this Kirkland nonfat Greek yogurt a week or so ago. I’ve been loving it lately. It’s such a great price and has so many uses. Last week I made a magnificent bowl of overnight oats with it in a Naturally More jar.

In the jar:

1/3 cup oats

1/2 cup vanilla soymilk

1/2 cup Kirkland nonfat Greek yogurt

2 Splenda packets

splash of vanilla

about 2 tablespoons of Naturally More at the bottom of the jar (LOVE that!)

I didn’t stop there either. I even topped it with some Chocolate Fudge Pie chunks. Oh my!

It was CRAZY!

This weekend I created some serious yogurt bowls. You have to try this (and quick before it gets too cold outside).

In the bowl: Greek yogurt topped with PB2 maple syrup (PB2 mixed with sugar free maple syrup), Trader Joe’s Organic Trek Mix, oats and chia seeds.

Different day= different bowl.

In the bowl: Greek yogurt topped with SunButter, Trader Joe’s Organic Trek Mix (I used up the last of it and thank goodness because that stuff is addicting), chia seeds, a few oats and a Apple Crumb Vitamuffin, Holy moly- this was like the king of all yogurt bowls.

Skip That

I have not been impressed with these following things this past week. In fact, I will not be buying them again so I thought it was only fair to share.

Korean BBQ Chicken from Costco. I didn’t like it. It didn’t seem like it was a lot of breast meat. I’m actually making a face as I look at this picture of it. I was NOT impressed. It doesn’t compare to the Costco Orange Chicken (sorry I can’t find a picture at the moment).

At least we paired it with some Quick “Fried” Rice (Same recipe just tripled and I added some green onions)

While we’re on the topic, those Trader Joe’s Skinny Fries that we ate during the power outage date night were not that great either.

And now for the move of the week.

This video might be just as bad as the first one, but I thought I’d tape it myself to save Andrew the annoyance.

Don’t mind Kitty or the boys in the background that look really impressed with my moves. Ha! Oh, and excuse the messy house. I used nap time to clean up after I shot the video.

MOTW 2- Slow Jacks and Starbursts

A few things before I go:

The Bell Plantation deal for free shipping of you order two 12 packs is good for one more day only.

I saw this article online this morning and I thought it has a lot of great tips to share.

Love yogurt with PB! I needed a quick fix this weekend for breakfast and mixed my greek yogurt up with some PB flour and almond milk. Topped with some berries it held me over like a charm until brunch. Awesome idea topping it with a Vitatop. 🙂

Laura- I know isn’t yogurt with PB the best snack ever? I just had a bowl with some SunButter. Have to get my yogurt bowls in before the fall weather starts. ha! And I think you asked earlier about the PB flour and PB2. Yes, I’m pretty sure it’s the same thing. 🙂 Love the stuff! 🙂

I was wondering if you had found the Kirkland Greek Yogurt double! I meant to mention it in my taco pie post to your wall. I’m signing up for Mom and Tot bootcamp this week. Do you have a lot of people in it??

I think that starburst move might have to make an appearance in the little boot camp sessions I put together for my sister sometime soon 😀

Kirkland Greek Yogurt is amazing – my fridge is full! Hopefully, Costco will keep making it forever because I’m addicted, too!
In addition to making fun yogurt bowls that are no where near as great as yours, I’ve been mixing it with cinnamon or hot cocoa mix and using it as a glaze on angel food cake! Try it – so good!

Tracey- Hot cocoa mix and yogurt? How is that? I totally have packets in my pantry. I’ve got to try it. Just mix it together? And how do you make the glaze? I know, I LOVE the stuff. I juts polished off a yogurt bowl right now. Costco better not let us down. Ha!

      • Tracey says:

Yes, hot cocoa mix with yogurt is amazing! I mix one cup of Kirkland Greek yogurt with one packet of Nestle Fat-Free 20-Calorie hot cocoa mix (I dump in the whole packet, but I love chocolate, so adjust according to taste.) Then, I mix in a splash of vanilla extract and a sprinkle of cinnamon. I love it straight-up as a fudgy yogurt fix, but sometimes I add a little bit more vanilla extract so it’s not as thick and use it as a “glaze” over slices of angel food cake. The whole recipe is only 120 calories and it is absolutely delicious – please try it and let me know what you think!
Please know that I love your site and feel a special bond with you over our crazy Kirkland Greek yogurt addiction!

        • Tracey says:

Oops, meant to say that te whole recipe is 140 calories – but it’s still absolutely amazing and totally worth it!

        • STUFT Mama says:

Tracey- I tried your hot cocoa mix idea in a smoothie today with a packet of sugar free hot cocoa and Costco Greek yogurt and strawberries. AMAZING!!! You are genious! I can’t wait to keep experimenting! 🙂 I want to try the “glaze” next.
