Happy Friday! I’m running on 4 hours of sleep (not recommended), but I had a very fun day at my new job and even a solo trip to Costco! I have to get as much done during nap time so that when the boys wake up we can hang out and try to go for a jog.
Earlier this week Flat Kitty made a special request to tag along with the boys and I to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park (Andrew’s place of work). Kitty got a prime spot on top of the stroller.
We all got really excited about this butterfly.
Then someone got his hands on Flat Kitty.
I rescued him quickly because who knows what would’ve happened. Then we tried to see as much as we could before it was time to go home for lunch and naps. Here’s a few of our stops.
Joaquin thought this was a “bebra”. Close enough.
Flat Kitty tried to correct him, but he didn’t know what kind of animal it actually was.
These cranes are my favorite. They do a cool little dance that looks like they’re break dancing. It makes me laugh every time.
This next picture makes me laugh every time too.
He he!
Lion camp. Cool huh?
Silly Kitty wanted to go play with the lions. I had to put my foot down and tell him “no”. Then he wanted to go on a special trail to see the tigers and elephants.
Well, this time I decided to say “yes”.
Not the best decision.
To make things a little worse, once we made our rounds and were ready to play on the playground for a bit Flat Kitty noticed something.
We only had one Charger hat.
Ugh.
Instead of heading home we stayed for another hour and a half looking for that darn hat. (Sorry- no pictures. I was too tired, frustrated and sweaty.) I asked anyone and everyone if they had seen it and went up those same big hills at least two more times.
Well…
we never found it. We reluctantly decided we needed to go home.
Oh well. I’m SURE there will be many more things lost in the years to come.
And when that happens Joaquin will know exactly what to say: “Bummer”.
At least Flat Kitty was there to try to make up all feel better.
And when we got home we needed a seriously ginormous lunch.was definitely needed (to help us me recover from all the hills).
Turkey burger, romaine, tomato, red onion, jalapeño, Marie Sharps hot sauce in a sandwich thin with some kale chips and carrots.
I added some parmesan cheese to these before baking them. It was awesome!
Have a wonderful weekend!
If you get bored you should make some Peanut Butter Doughtzel Balls. He he!

I laughed out loud at the bit holding kitty.
Ha ha! I laugh everytime I see Flat Kitty laying on the counter. 🙂 I know you want one!
Boy not bit 😉
Love that flat kitty represents with a “Stuft mama” tattoo! Looks like quite an adventure (and workout)! 😉
Oh my gosh this post CRACKED me up! This is my first time seeing Flat Kitty, so I thought it was a REAL CAT until I got to the one of him in the statues hands. I was like “HOW does she get this cat to stay so still!?!”
Too much 😀
Oh yeah, he stays still alright. ha ha! 🙂
