In the Club

Okay, that email I talked about with some spectacular news will have to wait just one more day. It really deserves a post all on it’s own (with a proper celebration). I had to pinch myself this morning to make sure I wasn’t just dreaming (of a certain machine). I wasn’t. I can’t wait to share.

For now though, on to other business.

So, you all know about my weekly date night with “my boyfriend”. It usually consists of me on the treadmill admiring him on TV and pretending that I’m one of the contestants he trains.

Today, my friends, it was different. As some of you figured out on Facebook….

I got to be in “The Club”.

Don’t worry, STUFT daddy approved.

But, wait, what?

Oh yes, this mama pawned off her boys to Tutu for the day, found subs for her classes at the Y and took a little road trip to Hollywood (after teaching Strollerjam of course).

Shortly after I hit the road, a stop at Starbucks (for a soy latte) was in order. And wouldn’t you know, Starbucks is a lot more fun without a dragging a double stroller in there.

It didn’t take long for me to dig into my snack bag either.

Snacks for the day included an apple, an Apple Crumb Vitatop, Trader Joe’s Lite Kettle Corn and a Chocolate Peanut Butter Supreme Protein Bar (the BEST bar ever- I get them at All Star Health for really great price).

After 2 1/2 hours I arrived at the location. Sorry, no pictures, I was a little nervous (and preoccupied with trying to get all the deodorant marks off my shirt).

Oh wait, here’s a picture. I really should’ve done something better with my hair. How hard is it to remember a workout headband? Ugh.

The studio was super cute. The first thing I saw was this.

What? A cooking show? I bet I could bake some cool green things up in there.

For today though I settled for just begging asking a nice guy to take my picture.

(I promised not to touch anything.)

Our waiting room was next door.

My immediate thoughts upon arrival were:

– Dang, everyone looks good. I should’ve gotten more sleep. These bags under my eyes are not flattering.

– Ooooo… I really like her shoes.

– Why can’t I get these darn deodorant marks off my shirt? Where are the baby wipes when I need them?

– I so wish my new Spanx were clean. I really should’ve done laundry last night.

We waited around for awhile and these nice ladies let me whip out the camera to get a few “before” shots.

They even let me take a group shot. They had much more patience than Papap with my annoying picture taking.

Thanks ladies (and gentleman) for letting me get out my camera. You are all fabulous!

Then it was time to move to the studio.

It was much better than our home studio where the boys and I tape.

And then….

“my boyfriend” made his entrance.

I’m pretty sure he mumbled “Hey Kristin” when he walked by. Ha ha! Just kidding. Now that WAS in my dreams.

But seriously, friends,

Bob Harper is AWESOME!

He put us through a 20 minute workout that kicked my booty.

I have a lot of his videos so I knew his style of training. I still thought it would be relatively easy. I was wrong.

My legs were already shaking during the warm-up and it was probably about 3 minutes in when I was sucking air. (Way to hang in there mama.) Ha!

It was an short, intense workout that accommodated all fitness levels.

I loved every second of it. Even when he walked over to me and called me out on being a “Type A’” person during our kettle bell thrusts. (Oh yes, he did.)

He’s launching a new online Bob Harper fitness club in a couple weeks where you get access to daily workout videos (our workout today will be one of them).

Um, hello, a little piece of Bob everyday? Yes please! Who could pass that up?

They’re working out the details, but I’ll be sure to keep you in the loop because Bob Harper fitness club is THE place to be.

I’m so excited! I think the boys are too since we can do the workouts at home in one of our “studios”.

Before I hit the road I made sure to take a post workout pic with my man.

I may not have been sporting my new Spanx, but I WAS rocking a nice stomach sweat ring and an obnoxious sweat moustache. (I’m telling you, the workout was awesome.) I bet I made a great first impression. Ha ha!

Thanks to Tutu and my sister-in-law Bridget for watching the boys and for my wonderful friends that covered my Y classes for me.

I had an amazing time.

I can’t wait to do it again.

Oh, and thanks to LA traffic for giving me time to finish up my entire bag of snacks on the trip home.

He he. Keeping it real friends.

Have a good one!
