Weekend Wrap Up- Before and After

Weekend Wrap Up- Before and After

Happy Monday! I traded in some blogging, emailing and reading other blogs to attempt to organize the office, spend some quality time with the family and catch up on some must needed sleep. It was glorious! I woke up this morning well rested and still wearing my Spanx tank top from yesterday. Ha ha!

A quick wrap up of the weekend and then a couple “before” and “after” pictures.

Friday “Date night” looked a little something like this.

Taco Pie

It was accompanied by a little Modern Family and Jersey Shore. Smile

Saturday night we had a little family party at Tutu’s to celebrate October birthdays. Every time I spend time with Andrew’s family I realize how lucky I am to be a part of such an amazing family. I am really not the best sister-in-law. I show up late and have everyone else help prepare the one thing I’m in charge of (this time it was breadsticks). One of these times I need to step it up.

Family time is the BEST! Look at our adorable nieces. Just a few of the 25 grandkids on Andrew’s side of the family.

No pictures of food, but I DID indulge in a large piece of chocolate cream pie for dessert that I wasn’t planning on. I told myself I wasn’t going to have any, but after a glass of wine I couldn’t resist. Not the best idea because I was supposed to have another “date” today, but it got cancelled. I’m going to try to steer clear of the sweet stuff until the next date with “my boyfriend”.

After dessert at our party Batman needed a little assistance outside. I couldn’t help and take pictures at the same time. Good excuse huh?

On to some “before” and “after” pictures.

Since I am in love with my new Spanx shorts I thought the tank tops would be just as great. Flat Kitty and I grabbed a couple the other day: two cheap tummy tuck ones and one Spanx. I sported one of them to the family dinner Saturday night.

Check it out.

These Flexees were $20 each.

(Nice pointy belly button. I hope I’m not the only one with that. Ugh.)

Not that big of a difference.

Here’s the Spanx tank top.

(after my LONG run with the stroller)

Don’t mind the deodorant marks.

I think the Spanx tank top worked a little better, but was about $8 more expensive.

I also have mixed feeling about the tank tops. They help a little bit, but I think the shorts work better. Not sure if you even want to see these, but I thought some of you might be curious, right?

A couple more before I go:

Chocolate Protein Muffin

(this version is 190 calories)

1/2 cup egg substitute

1/2 cup canned pumpkin

2 tablespoons coconut flour

2 tablespoons my favorite cocoa powder

2 Splenda packets

1/4 teaspoon almond extract

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Baked in the oven at 375 for 25 minutes. (It can also be microwaved for 3-5 minutes.)

I HAD to doctor it up with some PB2 (mixed with soy milk) of course. It was my meal after the long stroller run (which was not a fun one).

I served it up with a

Frozen Strawberry Hot Chocolate Smoothie

The boys got their Frozen Strawberry Hot Chocolate Smoothie in a bowl (and some added spinach).

Yes, that is a piece of veggie burger in Judah’s “ice cream”. Lovely.

Please tell me it gets cleaner as they get older. Smile

I took a couple more pictures that were supposed to be my “before” ones, but I didn’t get to the “after” part. Oops. I thought about posting them, but one is a close up of my feet and no one wants to see those on a Monday morning. ha!

Have a good one! Fun stuff coming up this week with a giveaway and a very special raffle for Amelia! Yippee!!!!!

Oh thanks. That post is a little all over the place. Note to self- do not write a post first thing in the morning in a rush without coffee. I better do a good one tonight. 🙂

I had a piece of unplanned German Chocolate Cake this weekend too, oops. Kids get cleaner with food, messier with arts and crafts, or maybe it’s a girl thing. My girls glitter and sparkle EVERYTHING!

Wow! That’s a lot of grandkids!! And I always preferred the spanx shorts because the shirts always seemed to ride up on me when I wear them under dresses?? Not the most flattering look to have t-shirt rolls on your tummy – lol!! But the ones you bought seem a bit better quality then the ones I tried!! And just flex them your muscles and they will be impressed – spanx or not – lol!! 😀

Kinley- yes. The shorts are better. I’m not sure flexing my muscles will do the trick. That belly button of mine sure know how to point straight out. 🙂

Love the before and after theme! Thanks for posting the pics of the faux-spanx and the real spanx. I have some faux-spanx tank tops but I don’t really think they make that big of a difference. I think it does look like the actual spanx are a little better…Good to know!

And, as always, your boys are adorable! 🙂

Quiet! You are a great sister!! Thanks for sharing the pictures. I think the spanx tank looks better but like one poster said it could ride up. Interesting! I remember trying the bottom ones at your wedding and had to take it off after the ceremony….I couldn’t breathe!

Um… YOU are the best! Thanks for helping tonight! I owe you!!!! Yeah, the Spanx are a bit tight, but I’ll take that over my pointer belly button. 🙂
