Lucky day friends.
Do you ever make wishes at 11:11?
I do. Pretty much everyday. The same couple of wishes.
They have yet to come true though and I’ve been doing it for about 10 years. Hmm… maybe I should start to rethink my theory.
I think today might be different though.
I better think of a good wish.
The boys and I did a little “wishing” this morning while looking through our catalogues.
They wanted the scooters, bikes, balls, etc..
I wanted a little something else from their catalogue. Can you see it?
My real “wishes” were for kitchen gadgets (I have a little obsession) from Sur la Table.
Oh how I love that store (but don’t let myself step foot in there).
I really want one of these Nespresso and Delongih Lattissima Plus.
But I’ll settle for one of these. It’s ONLY $349. Ugh.
I decided to look for things that were a little more budget friendly.
That’s a pretty cool pan. Who doesn’t want to make cute little cupcakes with surprises inside?
Then I saw THIS.
Ha ha ha! Love it!
I put the magazines away and realized we don’t need any of that stuff. (Although I may be putting that special espresso machine on my Christmas list. Too bad we have a $50 limit.)
I did however feel the need to try to recreate a little something.
I always wish my homemade lattes and mochas would be as good as Starbucks (or that Starbucks would be less expensive and deliver to my doorstep).
I have yet to try the new salted caramel mocha, but that didn’t stop me from trying to create my own version this morning.
I must say it was pretty darn tasty.
I even made one for Andrew and he said it was “delicious”. He may have just said that though to get me to stop talking about it.
Here’s what I put together.
STUFT Salted Caramel Mocha
brewed espresso (I make mine with my stovetop espresso maker)
2 tablespoons cocoa powder (I use Hershey’s special dark cocoa powder)
2 tablespoons sugar free caramel sauce
1 1/2 cups milk of choice (I used light vanilla soymilk)
a little sea salt
fat free Reddiwip
a sprinkle of Trader Joe’s Sugar, Chocolate, and Coffee Bean grinder (optional)
I prepared everything the same way I do for my favorite morning mocha.
Then I added a sprinkle of sea salt on top, some fat free Reddiwip and then the Trader Joe’s Chocolate, Sugar and Coffee Bean sprinkles (which, by the way, pretty much make everything fabulous).
Yep. It was just as good as I thought it would be.
(Ha ha. Can I make that picture any bigger?)
I made this little thing for a snack this afternoon.
I’ve been wanting S’mores every since this French toast. Today I came up with this healthy, 220 calorie treat.
Vitatop of choice (chocolate ones are the best)
1 tablespoon peanut butter
Carefully cut defrosted Vitatop in half. Place sliced marshmallow on half.
Broil in toaster oven for 3 minutes.
Spread peanut butter on other half. Put together to make a sandwich.
220 calories of pure heaven for 11/11.
I’m so cheesy.
Speaking of cheesy, someone tried to be funny and pose as an “inbred cat”.
Get it? “Inbread cat”.
Ha ha! (Thanks Mary for the idea.)
That’s exactly what I’m planning on doing.
Happy Veteran’s Day (and Flat Kitty Friday)!
The winner of the Amazing “Peas” Raffle for Amelia will be announced tomorrow morning.
