I’m not talking about Kitty’s Christmas sweater, although I have to admit that I cut that video short. He did cough up a little something something, but I thought with it being Christmas and all that I should edit that out. You’re welcome.
Who the heck waits until the last minutes to do everything?
Yep, that’s right. I finally sent out my “thank you” packets from our half marathon for Amelia (yes, those Flat Kitty cutouts that were on my Facebook page were for you) and mailed over 100 Christmas cards today. I also finally made a dent in my shopping. Thank goodness.
Today’s been a little rough though since I was up until 2:30 in the morning baking Christmas cookies.
Yeah, that’s right.
Who does that?
Me unfortunately. Ugh.
I feel sick. Not only from lack of sleep, but from sampling a few too many cookies past midnight also. Not a good thing.
I made six different kinds of cookies. At one point my kitchen looked a little like this.
Can you find my broccoli slaw concoction? Ha ha. Dinner while I worked.
And someone was still upset about his sweater so he was of no help. He wouldn’t even look at me.
At least I had a little of my favorite wine to get me through.
After over 5 hours in the kitchen I had a couple of trays for Andrew to take into work,
plates to give out to family and friends
and a new use for the treadmill.
I made STUFT SunButter Doughtzel Balls,
Red Velvet Cookies,
Toffee Cracker Treats,
Grandma D’s Sugar Cookies,
Bisquick Peanut Butter Blossoms
and a last minute version of Magic Cookie Bars.
I’ll share the recipes in the next few days. I’m too tired to write any of them out right now.
Speaking of tired, I’m not really looking forward to getting on the treadmill tonight. At least I have the second half of The Family Stone (great Christmas movie) to motivate me.
So, back to this morning, after a long four and a half hours of sleep, the boys and I were really excited for our cookie delivery day.
Who the heck buys those silly Huggies Santa diapers?
Oh yeah, me (solely for picture taking purposes).
And let’s see, in the few hours before we left the house Joaquin managed to eat a Zicam (please don’t ask), “help” me make green eggs and oats,
find a new “angel” for our nativity,
and show me his treadmill workout (Santa themed of course).
Yeah, I’m exhausted.
We managed to make most of our deliveries (I got the boys dressed before we left the house), went to the mall (bad idea- crowded malls and double strollers don’t mix well) and got home just in time to scarf down some lunch (veggie burger Flatout wraps).
Now I need to go finish scrubbing the tub before the boys wake up. A certain someone decided to leave some skid marks in there again. Who does that?
(Sorry I’ve been a bad friend and haven’t responded, commented, etc. as of late. I am swamped. Hoping to get things in control over the next couple of days. Good luck, huh?)
