A Quick STUFTdate

 
You know, like an update.
 
I don’t know why I try to be all cute early in the morning. It obviously doesn’t work well.
Today I’m blaming this guy sitting by me at 6 am.

I really should stop posting these unflattering morning photos also.
 
Which reminds me, I had the best broccoli slaw BBQ bake last night with polenta. I said I wasn’t going to post any roasted broccoli slaw pictures on here though for a couple days, so I posted it on my Facebook page and Twitter instead. You might want to check it out. He he.
 
I promise I have an amazing giveaway on the way, but with all that happened yesterday I didn’t get a chance to get my post together. This is all I have.
 
Here’s what happened yesterday.
 
STUFT Daddy, being the hero that he is, left work early to take Kitty to the vet. I know that doesn’t sound like a big deal, but my friends, Kitty and STUFT Daddy do not get along. The word “hate” has been used many times in our 71/2 years of marriage when referring to my sweet feline baby. I had 6 classes to teach at 3 different locations and finding subs to cover those is nearly impossible at the last minute. STUFT Daddy saved the day.
 
Kitty is still at the vet and not doing well. I’m trying to not think about it. Dealing with emotions well is not really my thing, I’m pretty good at blocking things out and running them off (literally). So it was actually a blessing that I had to teach all day and Andrew could take his “buddy” to the vet. I would’ve been a crying mess.
 
Not only did I make STUFT Daddy do that for me, but I also stopped at the store to buy a new workout outfit on my way home last night and got home at 9 pm rather than 7:15 pm. I’m such a winner. Poor Andrew, I don’t know how he puts up with me sometimes the majority of the time.
 
My excuse for “needing” a new outfit?
Let’s just say that I got an email that had the following in it:
 
“a one-on-one personal training session with Bob….”
 
Um yeah. I’m so excited.
 
Let me just say that if things are quiet here it’s because I’m trying to get my beauty sleep and be at my best for this. God help me if I’m not well rested and can’t impress “my boyfriend”.

Besides needing to respond to many comments over the past couple of days, I also owe you a printable recipe of that pumpkin protein dough.
 
Yesterday I topped it with this amazing stuff.

Oh man, this Nuttzo stuff pretty much rocks my world and is great on the pumpkin dough. I’m sure it would be great in the STUFT Protein Cookie too.
 
Enough rambling already. Just in case you didn’t watch our Pumped Up Protein Dough video (although the boys really want you to watch it), here’s a printable recipe. This one uses PB2 in place of 1/2 of the protein powder because I prefer it that way. (Why yes, I have been eating it every single day for a week to help come to that decision.)
 
The original pumpkin pie flavored version is on the video.

Okay. Here’s three Tuesday tips to leave you with.
 
1. Try roasting quinoa before cooking it.

My friend Perdita taught me this trick. I’ve been roasting it, cooking it in the rice cooker, and then freezing individual servings of it for quick meals/snacks.
 
2. Check out this week’s Tuesday Trainer Tabata workout. Lindsay put together a couple or great workouts to try. I submitted a video of some jumping lunges that STUFT Daddy taped for me yesterday. (Yeah, I made him do that too.)
 
 
3. Get a good night’s sleep. Never underestimate the importance of quality sleep and an amazing (like AMAZING) pillow.

    Oh wow – the one-on-one session really came through?! That is so cool – you’re one lucky mama!! I hope you are planning to recruit someone to take some photos to share with us. 🙂

    I hope kitty is ok. We are taking one of our furbabies to get his eyes (cataracts) fixed on Friday and I’m such a nervous wreck already. And I still just think it’s so darn cool that you’re training with Bob.

    SO, so cool Kristin! Wow…a one-on-one with B. Harp! Love it. Definitely something to look forward to. 😀 I’m sorry to hear about Stuft Kitty…we haven’t had many pets but I know how they do become like members of the family. Hope you can balance everything right now and find ways to deal with the emotions too – that can be tough. 🙁 You are beautiful, by the way, even at 6 am – natural and glowing even in the early hours.     Oh what a sweet husband!!! Hope kitty gets feeling better soon. I totally understand the tough emotions that come with a sick pet… Mine are like my kids! Can’t wait to hear more about the pillow… And if it’s a giveaway of one I’m pumped. This girls needs all the cushion she can get in bed!

    Ok, sending little kitty prayers all over for you! And of course you need a new outfit! You’re pretty much a celebrity and do celebrities get photographed in the same thing twice? No. No they do not.

    I’m still hooked on the first cookie dough cookie with the chocolate, but if I ever get sick of it, I’ll be sure to move on to this deliciousness.
