Breakfast in Five- Flat Kitty Friday

Breakfast in Five- Flat Kitty Friday

My challenge is to get this post up and this breakfast scarfed down in the next ten minutes before I’m on my way to work and then out for a long run. Let’s see…..

Today’s breakfast.

Why, yes again it’s the same egg white and sugar free jam sandwich on my favorite bread made all toasty and crunchy in my sandwich maker. I’m such a creature of habit. Along with a strong mocha with this sugar free syrup again.

Oh Flat Kitty, you better not my friend.

This guy got to hang out with a couple other STUFT friends this week.

He got really spoiled over at Sarena’s with her breakfast- an egg white omelet with potatoes, roasted peppers, mushrooms and carrots covered in nutritional yeast.

She is the one who introduced me to nutritional yeast. Love the stuff. Flat Kitty also has a special little bond going on with her husband over there, but I’m not going to pry.

Over at my friend Sara’s house he got some spinach pancakes. Oh, he is all about the color green. He loves Sara and can’t figure out why she moved away right when we all become friends. Ha ha!

Now Kelsey is a genius and has created some amazing green overnight oats. I tried that once before, but after hearing about hers I may need to revisit them.

Up in Canada with my friend Jenny, this guy got to check out her breakfast she’s been eating the past few weeks- a chocolate green smoothie and a cinnamon raisin English muffin with egg whites and herb Gouda cheese.

Sounds amazing, yes? And this lady is pretty much a rock star because she’s still running and racing while 23 weeks pregnant.

At the STUFT house Flat Kitty tried to “help” in the kitchen yesterday morning, but his “help” turned into a failed breakfast experiment. I’ll just give you a little peek.

Oh, wait, first of all he is NOT happy that we’re almost out of our favorite cocoa powder and that the price on Amazon has gone up a ton. If you know where to get this cheap, please let me know. That’s just not right.

Failed experiment- adding beets to gluten free oat pancakes.

They came out something like this.

Kind of like green eggs and oats, but red. The boys still ate them (along side my attempt to redeem myself with a modified version).

I did manage to create this new version of the pumpkin microwave muffin

That recipe coming soon!!!

Okay, gotta run! Have a great Friday! Don’t forget to enter the Halo headband giveaway!

Please tell me you’ve had some failed kitchen experiments too, yes?

Woman, most things that come from my kitchen are failed. I don’t mind as long as they still taste good! Besides, that’s always when you stumble across something great! I love that the boys eat our freak foods! That is love and trust…

Oh and I love your boys’ shirts! They are just so darn cute! Have a great day friend!

I think we ALL have kitchen failures! But if you’re hungry enough….you’ll eat it 😉 Have a great Friday!

Oh no – i forgot to send Flat Kitty photos!! 🙁

I have certainly had failed experiments! The worst was one where I had peeled a whole slew of chestnuts for the recipe and it was terrible, felt so sad throwing it away.

I’ve been failing at even making meals lately – good thing the husband has stepped up to the plate (and knows how to cook!)

I fail in the kitchen on the regular – microwave muffins, burning stuff, and just not tasting good. It comes with the territory! 🙂

Love the idea though… I am addicted to beet smoothies. A muffin would be danger. Maybe some oragne zest in to too. Mmmmm…

Flat Kitty is so cute, I wish he’d come over to my house and share some yummy food 😉 All these meals look divine. Reminds me its dinner time over here!! Oh man, I have recipe fails all the time, but they always taste good. They just look ugly!

Most of my experiments in the kitchen are failures but there are lots of ways to cover up the ‘whoopsies.’ Flat Kitty sure gets around! 🙂

Those breakfasts look delicious–especially Jenny’s chocolate green smoothie–mine never look that good.

You are a daring woman putting beets into pancake mix–that is what I call creative;-) I have had so many failed kitchen experiments, most of them from trying to boost the nutritional value. I now stick to recipes (most of the time). So thanks for sharing all of yours!
