Nice title, yes?
Hope you had a great weekend! Before I get all carried away with things, I better announce the winner of the Halo headband giveaway.
Thanks to random.org the winner is…..
#38 Melissa
Woo hoo! Email me your address and what headband you’d like and I’ll pass it along to the people over at Halo.
Now, I have a whole slew of pictures from this past weekend, but I told my friends I wasn’t going to post them on the blog. So before I do some damage and post them on here anyway, I better get approval (or give them a head’s up at least). Ha ha!
That leaves me with a little something else for you to start off the week.
A video.
I’ve written about kale chips before and even again recently with a new nondairy version. I know it’s nothing new and that every other blogger and his or her mother has a recipe for these, but oh well. They don’t have a semi hairless cat named Kitty or toddler twins so that makes us a little different, right?

Yesterday the boys and I thought we’d make a little video to show you just how easy it is to make these at home.
Video notes:
If you don’t want to come over and hang with us in the kitchen after watching this, something might just be wrong with you. Just kidding.
We lose Joaquin halfway through. Surprise, surprise.
They obviously know about “burning your finger”. I won’t go into details.
Why yes, they did just get haircuts, and yes, I know that I desperately need one too. Thanks.
Enjoy.

Here’s all the seasonings we used.
Here’s a look at the finished product.
I say in the video that I’m going to serve it up with a BBQ tempeh Flatout wrap and that’s exactly what I did.
What? That wrap looks so good you want to see it up close?
Well alright.
I took some Trader Joe’s tempeh, sprayed it with nonstick spray, seasoned it with the same seasonings I used on the kale chips and put it in the oven at 375 convection for about 10 minutes.
Then I put in on a Flatout, topped it with some BBQ sauce, a Serrano chili
and some romaine.
Rolled that sucker up and voilà.
I will also have you know that we ate lunch around 1:30 and around 5:30 I found not one, but two huge pieces of kale in my teeth.
Classy.
Have a good one! Hopefully I’ll have some fun pictures from the weekend to share tomorrow. We’ll see what my friends say. He he!

we love those (and our braggs
) too!
Of course you do. Our households eat so much alike.
We all need to get together to make a fun video. Oh wait- weren’t we supposed to do a chia rap? Ha ha.
Max and I LOVE our kale chips and our nutritional yeast! Now I’m craving them! Your boys are so incredibly cute! Judah cracked me up talking about the groceries you got. That sounds like how Max used to be when we went together to the store. I’m glad you had a great weekend! Enjoy your week my friend!
Ha ha. After that video he kept telling me he had to buy bananas and was going to get samples. That has Costco written all over it.
Do the boys still shop with you?
i love kale chips and your boys are just adorable!! i love that they eat all this great stuff early… way to start their healthy habit!!
Oh…. They definitely have their picky moments. Ha!
MMMM love kale chips and digging the wrap with the jalapenos. Yum!
I love kale chips too. I just wish they wouldn’t stick in my teeth forever. LOL.
I need to find nutrition yeast somewhere because those look delicious!
Alex- yes you do. I just discovered it recently and it is so darn fun experimenting with.
i LOVE kale chips! i just discovered them about a month ago and can’t get enough of them.
Ashley- Aren’t they the best? I love that you can have such a huge serving of them. Ha ha.
Yummy kale chips! Love that you guys made a video of that (need to come back and watch later tonight). I would come play in your kitchen any day, it always looks like so much fun!
I’m going to make you come play with us when you’re out here for a race. He he!
ive never tried tempeh before…think ill have to! i used to make kale chips all the time then kinda forgot about them..thanks for the reminder!
The Trader Joes tempeh is super cheap and awesome!!!
Oh YAY! I’m a winner!
Thanks, darlin’!
I am SO the girl with stuff in her teeth. All the time. So I would definitely tell you (or anyone for that matter) if you had food in your teeth! Worthwhile, though. That meal looks awesome. I’m going to come have you make it for me, mmmmkay?
Will make it for you any day (only if you check my teeth first). Got your email. Will send your info on.
I love this age! Toddlers are so fun and full of discovery
Aren’t they? You’re going to have your hands full with your guy and a new little baby. He he!!!
Can’t wait to hear about it all.
Oh man. I love you on camera. I can’t wait to come to SD! I have never made kale chips, believe it or not, I always put it in smoothies but never have made chips. I can’t get that at Trader Joe’s. Boohoo. Also, I just need your arms. Need.
Okay, I’m totally surprised that you’ve never made kale chips. And…. When you do come to SD I think we should make a video together! You can be in charge of Joaquin. Just kidding.
I’m so jealous of all of you and BLEND!!!!
Yum. I looove kale chips! They rock. I definitely want to come in the kitchen and cook with you and the boys! You guys are awesome. I seriously love all your videos! And can I just say how adorable it is that the boys are wearing the same shirt
Come over anytime.
Poor guys- I always make them dress alike. My husband hates it. Ha.
I’ve had kale chips before, but never SPICY kale chips. I’ll have to try this soon! And nutritional yeast…I just recently heard about it and will now seek it out. Thanks for the great food ideas.
Love the video with your helpers.
Yes seek it out. I always thought it was weird, but now I love it!
Love the video- your boys are adorable and you are seriously one gorgeous mama!
Side note: I am scared of kale chips but now I kind of want to finally try them.
I was scared too. Now I love them!
Thanks for saying such nice things. You made my night.
Love the video! I just tried making kale chips for the first time yesterday, and they turned out alright, but I definitely didn’t season them much. Tomorrow I’ll have to try them using nutritional yeast!
I have the opposite problem- I season them too much and then burn them. Ha! It took me awhile to get it down.
LOVE kale chips! How can you go wrong with Nutritional Yeast and kale? I have learned after countless times to always check the mirror after eating kale chips. Those things stick like glue to your teeth!
Great video! The boys are adorable!
There much be special kale glue or something on them. Ha! You would think I’d learn.
I could watch this video over and over again… You 3 are the cutest
Oh my… you are way too nice. Thanks for saying that though. Our videos need some work. Ha.
Where did u get those cute round oven mitts? I love all your recipes…:)
