Well, this post is a day late. We had a first yesterday morning when I had intended to get this done. Instead of getting a few extra minutes of sleep to recover from my race Sunday, the boys were up at 6:30. Since it’s they’re new thing to escape and all, they got out of their beds and crawled into bed with me. Lovely.
Today at 5:30 my morning looked like this.
Now they’ve found the electric guitars (and a few boogers that they’ve so generously held up for me).
Let’s see if I can get this done.
This month I participated in a little something fun called Foodie Pen Pals.
The reveal day was yesterday. Oops.
I got paired up with Amorette and man do I feel bad for her because I am not a very good foodie pal. I sent my box late, forgot a handwritten note, sent her something that she couldn’t even eat because it wasn’t vegan, etc. Way to go Kristin.
Amorette- I’m sorry. I hope our friend Lindsay pairs you up with someone really great for next month to make up for it.
Since she doesn’t have a blog herself, here’s Amorette’s guest reveal. She is way too nice in this reveal. I almost feel like I need to send her a little something else. Ha ha. Here she is.
Hello! My name is Amorette and I’m a foodie blog reader like many of you. Thank you to STUFT mama for giving me the opportunity to write a guest post for this blog.
I was introduced to STUFT mama through Foodie Pen Pal and would love to share with you all today the generosity of STUFT mama’s April package to me!
Last Friday morning, I woke up to this delightful package on my porch!
It was better than Christmas! (Usually you don’t get tasty edibles for Christmas.)
I immediately ripped into it. Thanks, STUFT mama!
Master Happosai from Ranma ½
Wow, what a jackpot!
What was in the box:
Love Grown Foods Sweet Cranberry Pecan Granola
Larabar: Cherry Pie
Larabar: Peanut Butter Cookie
Justin’s Nut Butter: Chocolate Hazelnut
Dried Bing Cherries
Marie Sharp’s Habanero Pepper Sauce
Trader Joes: Wasabi Roasted Seaweed Snack
Trader Joes: Wasabi Peas
It was like striking gold! (but tastier)
STUFT mama somehow found out the foods I love but never buy – the ones that I’d just eat all in one sitting. She’s psychic!
I’m the type of person who can’t stay away from granola once it’s available to me (one of the reasons why I can’t buy it), so Love Grown Foods definitely got opened first.
Chewy enough to be satisfying to the mouth with a touch of sweetness from the cherry.
Mmm…. I had to hide it in the pantry to stop myself from eating the whole bag.
The day was still early. Next thing to try was the Larabars!
I don’t buy these often because they end up in my stomach immediately – this time was no exception.
A balanced level of sweetness and chewy with peanuts still visible in the bar – impressive. I was reminded again of why I never made any food bars with dates. Date bars of any sort are so good that I can’t make or buy them fast enough.
It was finally breakfast where my green smoothie in a bowl was waiting for me. I decided to try out some of the chocolate hazelnut butter and a few cherries.
Nut butter in my bowl! Provided that hint of sweet that my greens needed.
Too precious to waste!
Chocolate nut butter needs to be hidden from a person like me – ha ha.
And two cherries went into the bowl as well.
The tart sweetness was delightful. I was so excited about the cherries because our Whole Foods infuses its cherries with apple juice or sugar – I just want the cherries.
Later in the afternoon, I took these two babies for a spin.
Whoo, that wasabi really has a kick. I ate all the roasted seaweed (seaweed is one of my favorites) and packed away the peas for later.
As for the last item:
Into the fridge for later cooking escapades! My dad is already a fan – sour and spicy hot sauce.
Thank you again for your generosity and amazing choices, STUFT mama. I absolutely loved the package and pretty much wiped it out within the weekend.
Thanks Amorette. Like I said, you are way too kind.
Okay, so here’s my quick reveal. I was sent a nice package from Hannah.
She followed the rules and included a cute handwritten note.
The mustard has made it’s way on a few on my salads as a dressing (along with BBQ sauce and hot sauce).
That Dark Chocolate Dreams Peanut Butter topped my pizoatie the other day.
That stuff is dangerous.
I also used the packet of honey peanut butter on my green chia cookie monster dough dip just yesterday.
I haven’t gotten my hands on the rest of all the goodies yet, but man alive do I plan on putting them to good use.
Hannah- you are awesome. Thank you so much for all my treats.
Since I failed miserably at being a good pen pal and getting my reveal post written on time, I’m opting out for this next month. I don’t want anyone to have to get paired up with me. ha. It’s a really fun thing though and you don’t have to be a blogger to participate. It’s open to anyone. You can find out all the information about Foodie PenPals here.
Speaking of failing miserably, I also didn’t get Tuesday Trainer video sent in yesterday.
I have another reveal in the works, but it deserves a post all on it’s own. Look.
Oh yes. Fan-freaking-tastic. It’s made with Coach’s Oats Pancake mix which you can still enter to win by the way. Go here to leave a comment so you can get your hands on this stuff. I have 5 bags to giveaway!!!!!
I’m going to try to share this recipe today before the giveaway is over, but I’m not promising anything.
I can’t drink this STUFT salted caramel mocha fast enough right now.
