I know, right? Finally. I always get distracted. I mean to write these posts to just give you some stuff, but then I get selfish and start talking about my life and never get to what’s for you.
I promise to just show you a few highlights from Wednesday before the giveaway. Let’s do three only. Thursday Three.
Sounds good, yes?
I tried really hard to unplug the majority of the day yesterday. Social media gets way too overwhelming and takes away from time that I need to be giving the boys my full attention. Not to mention it makes my head a bit bonkers sometimes.
I did a 10 mile run at the gym mid morning. It was the first 10 miler since the marathon and didn’t feel too shabby thank goodness. I was starving the minute I stepped off the darn treadmill though. I was hoping the boys would be all about just going home and eating a huge lunch with mommy. I was wrong.
I had made the mistake of telling them that we could go check out a new park after the gym. As much as I talked up eating lunch at home and hanging out in our own backyard, they just were not having it.
we went to a cool new park.
We also played a little Red Light, Green Light later in the day, but I’m not sure they really got the whole concept.
I also tried really hard to not take any pictures of food all day. I made it until about 2 pm when I finally got to sit down and scarf some lunch. I just can’t help myself sometimes.
And well, I’m sure you could have guessed what I was going to have for dinner, but I’ll show you anyway. I took that same zucchini idea from the previous night and made it broccoli slaw BBQ bake style.
I needed to try out these jalapeños STUFT Daddy planted for me. (He also planted Serrano chilies and ghost peppers, but those aren’t ready yet.)
Random side note- I don’t think they’re quite ready yet, but I have no idea how to tell when jalapeños are ready. If you have any tips to tricks feel free to send them my way.
I prepared the zucchini just like I did my roasted zucchini noodles the night before, only I changed up the seasoning a bit. I used garlic powder, garlic salt, ghost pepper salt, paprika, Trader Joe’s Everyday Seasoning, cayenne pepper and crushed red pepper.
20 or so minutes in the oven at 375 convection.
Oh yes. Who needs broccoli slaw?
I topped it with Costco rotisserie chicken, Scotty B’s Arch Nemesis hot sauce, BBQ sauce and a little low fat ranch.
And well, I may be able to hold off on buying broccoli slaw for a few more days, but thanks to Kristi, now I really want to get my hands on a spiralizer to make really cool zucchini noodles. She recommended this one and this one from Amazon, but the one of them is out of stock.
Let’s see, if I can withhold buying broccoli slaw for about 30 days (that would be a miracle friends), I could save just about enough money to buy one. Ha ha.
This is for you.
A Better Chip for you.
Part of last weekend was spent trying out some new chips to try that were sent to us by the people over at The Better Chip.
I don’t usually eat packaged foods because they wreak havoc on my tummy and I do not have good portion control when it comes to anything out of a bag, but I’m also never one to turn down free samples or the opportunity to give some free samples to you.
We were sent this cute little variety pack of the four tortilla chip flavors they have.
Not only did this come with chip samples, but it also came with a cool little tote bag
and a couple of cute shirts.
How awesome is that shirt? I’m not exactly sure what it means, but I love it. I do not love this photo though that looks like I’m pointing to my $30 miracle. (Obviously not sporting the same undergarments as my previous post.) And why yes, I am in fact wearing the same shorts I wore all throughout my twin pregnancy.
We got two bags of each of the flavors (jalapeño, fresh corn, red pepper and sweet onion).
I let the boys decide which one to try first. Naturally they picked this jalapeño one. I’ve taught them well.
We loved them.
We went for the red pepper ones next. They had a bit of kick to them also. We liked them too.
As in “we” I mean Judah and I.
My other taste tester got a little distracted with the dog water.
Since it’s only polite to give you a full review, we went for the sweet onion ones next.
I’m not a big onion chip fan, but these have a little white cheddar flavor in them and I liked them more than I thought I would.
I have to disclose the fact that I probably only ate about 1-2 chips of each flavor to be able to give you an honest review. My body does not do the packaged foods stuff well, so I have to make a lot of my own “chips” and “crisps” around here.
Hey look, there’s a chip on my shoulder.
Ha ha ha.
I put this little chip variety out for our dinner gathering we had over the weekend to try to be cool.
I made everyone sample them and the vote was that the red pepper ones (on the right) were the best.
Okay, now for YOU.
Here’s what one lucky STUFT reader will get:
The same sampler pack that I received (2 bags of each of the four flavors), 2 cool shirts (hey, we can be twins) and a trucker hat (they’re running low on the tote bags).
Pretty cool package if you ask me though.
All you have to do to enter is leave me a comment here answering one of the following questions:
How do you know when jalapeños are ready to pick?
Do you have a spiralizer? If so, which one and would you recommend it?
What’s your favorite chip or chip flavor?
(Random. I know.)
Feel free to tweet about the giveaway for an additional entry and leave a comment here telling me you did. Say whatever you want (that’s appropriate), just make sure to mention @stuftmama and the link to this post.
*This giveaway will be open until Sunday morning at 6 am PST. Open to US residents only.
Have a good one!
