Judah has this new thing. Every night while we’re cuddling before bed he puts his head on my shoulder and says “Today was my favorite day.” It’s usually followed by “Was today your favorite day too Mom?”
My answer is always the same.
“Yes Judah. Today was my favorite day.”
So, in true Judah fashion, I’ll share some favorites from this past weekend (which just happen to fly right on by way too fast).
First off, not to play favorites, but random.org picked the winner of The Better Chip Giveaway.
Congrats Sarah! Email me your mailing information and I’ll get it off to my Better Chip friends. I know you can’t wait to get that shirt. Ha ha!
Friday Favorites:
We whipped up just a few of our Gourmet Green Pancakes for breakfast. Here’s a picture of just the leftovers. (They’re now individually frozen for quick breakfasts this week.)
Oh and by the way, this is my favorite plate of all time.
I went with my breakfast STUFTwich (shocker), but mixed two different Smucker’s sugar free preserve flavors.
I also had a few minutes to skim through the Trader Joe’s Fearless Flyer
and spotted this wine I want to try.
A $5 bottle of wine? Yes please.
Later in the day I wanted to tackle a longer run with the stroller. I had to see if I could still push two hefty toddlers more than 5 miles. That was not happening on any big hills or without any fun stuff to look at for the boys.
So we decided to make a trip out of it.
I ate some pumpkin protein cookie dough in the car (not the easiest thing to eat on the go)
while the boys ate some SunButter and jelly sandwiches. (Also not the best on the go snack. I now have some seriously dirty car seats.)
We had so much fun last Friday in downtown San Diego so we went back.
And since we’re talking favorites, have I mentioned how much I love my Mizuno shoes?
Love them. And I just got a new pair for a special project Mizuno’s got going on. More of that to come later this week.
Anyway….
I scoped out a new flat path to run. It took us here.
here
here
and ended up here (again).
Oh Joaquin.
After about 9 stroller miles, some pretty amazing ships to look at
and a little playground time, I’d call it one of my favorite days.
It didn’t even end there.
The party kept going once we got home and spend time with our favorite man.
Doesn’t he look excited?
We built a very safe fire (on a wood patio under a big tree)
and opened up a new bottle of wine to try that was pretty darn tasty.
We went for a nice big salad (romaine, artichokes hearts, fresh basil, tomatoes and peperocinis)
and some gourmet take out.
We are so cool, aren’t we?
Then the boys had their very first experience with s’mores.
Joaquin loved them.
They were a little too sticky for Judah so he stuck with milk.
I’m not sure why or how this happened right before bedtime, but it did.
Saturday favorites:
Well, boot camp is my favorite way to start the day, but I didn’t take any pictures. I figure I torture my ladies enough that I won’t subject them to my picture taking and blog talk. Ha ha.
After seeing this on Pinterest the other day.

Naturally we had to go to one of our favorite stores and do this.
Here’s our before picture with some shoes we were supposed to return.
Here’s our after with not only the shoes we couldn’t return, but over $200 of diapers, cat food, etc.
Awesome.
Sunday favorites:
I’ll just show you my favorite snack because it pretty much rocked my Sunday afternoon after we hit up the gym for a little run.
Oh yes.
While I’m saddened that my beloved PB Crave Razzle Dazzle is done, I made sure to finish it off the right way with some of these.
Cookies and Cream Protein Oats in a Jar
1/2 cup oats (40 grams)
1 scoop Spiru-tein Cookies and Cream protein powder
3/4-1 cup nondairy milk (I used unsweetened almond milk)
2 teaspoon chia
splash of vanilla
1 sweetener packet
Um yeah. Good stuff. This protein powder rocks. It has a little more sugar than others, but the taste is worth it.
STUFT Daddy had to work on Father’s Day so we treated him to a surprise dinner after his long day.
And since it was his special party and he’s not exactly the biggest blog fan, I promised to not take any pictures. I got to make an exception for my cool mojito
and to show you how Judah eats lettuce wraps.
Yeah, he polished those things off.
The four of us did some serious damage at PF Chang’s. Thank goodness we had a gift card.
Okay, gotta go. I’ve got just a couple classes to teach today. Have a great Monday!
What was your “favorite” from the weekend?

I am in LOVE with your blog! Your family is so precious!!
Anne- You are way too kind. Don’t let the pictures fool you. 🙂 Welcome to the family!
I love how I always just nod my head as I read your blog. We are alike in so many ways. I have a love/hate relationship with Target. Love everything about the store. Hate how much $ I always spend there. HA.
Happy Father’s Day to the hubs – looks like you guys had a great night =)
Best part of the weekend was celebrating Father’s Day with my hubby and dad (cheesy but true!)
Not cheesy at ALL!!!! That is the best! Um, I really think we need to live closer together. Then we can shop Target together and do some real damage.
Mmm that peanut butter looks sooo good! I’m going to have to try that brand. And your cookies and cream protein powder…does it actually taste like cookies and cream? I’ve seen it before and been tempted to buy it but never had the faith it would actually taste good….
The protein powder does. It’s good. I’ve only had it a couple times, but it totally tastes like cookies and cream to me.
Looks like you had another fab, active, fun, family weekend!<3 I was a joy to read about.
Seriously, all the food, just yum. I SWOOON for pumkin cookie dough(that pic makes me want some bad)! And I actually have that protein powder but never know what to do with it, Ill have to try your oats- I wonder what its like in cookie dough, hmmm…
Your stroller outings sound like such a hardcore workout! 9miles ? Your a rockstar:) And I STILL cannot get over how cute Judah&Joaquin are- those faces!
Xxx
I haven’t tried that protein powder in cookie dough yet, but now I really want to try it. 🙂 Thanks for the idea Sarah.
What a weekend! 9 stroller miles is very impressive and I’m a little jealous of where you live:)
We had a pretty busy weekend too – lots of running and family time, good stuff!! Have a great day:)
ps- LOVE the sneaks;)
Katie- I don’t exactly live where I took all those pictures. It’s about a 30 minute drive, but I like to pretend I live there. LOL. Glad you had a fun family time weekend. 🙂
Hi Kristin – looks like so much fun…I have at least been to San Diego on business and it’s one place I sure wouldn’t mind going back to :). Looks like you and the boys had great fun!!! Ahem – I just came back from a “quick run” to Target – ugh don’t ask – I can never walk out of there less than $100 :)…..hope you are well!
Take care,
Amy
I don’t think a “quick run” to Target is possible. If anyone can actually pull it off, they have some skill. 🙂
I love that “today was my favorite day” line– kids have the best life! 🙂 Nice job on your nine double stroller miles. It’s so hot here, I have been avoiding the stroller, except for the occasional early Sunday morning family recovering run, when I can get my husband to agree to 3 easy miles! Mmmm, s’mores.
Laura- I’ll be avoiding the stroller for awhile since my ankle hasn’t been the same since that run. LOL. Yeah, kids have the BEST life. 🙂
okay, here we go:
1. You can put your shoes on top of the stroller? With your feet still in them? Damn. I need to work on my flexibility.
2. I’m going to make one of those jelly-sandwich-press things one of these days.
3. That wine looks delicious.
3b. Should your feet be that close to the fire?
3c. Maybe that’s why you run so fast… your feet are on fire!
4. Everyday should be a favorite day.
I like that 3 has a b and c. LOL. Yes, everyday should be a favorite day. 🙂 Let’s make it one.
Oh my goodness all of your guys are so adorable! I love your family! That pumpkin cookie dough is so on my mind!!! I need that in my life! I’m so glad you had a great weekend with your guys. I hope it’s an incredible week!
Oh and the shoes are so cute! I ran some this morning for the first time completely on my own and didn’t hate it. I’m even looking forward to the next time…I think I need to find some good shoes though…
I love YOUR family!!!!! Glad you didn’t completely hate your run Sarena! 🙂 You are funny. Hope you’re having an incredible week too (as busy as it is). 🙂
The pb in a jar and oats…need to do that…although I little ice cream in there too would probably be to die for. 😉
Favorite weekend thing? The rain that poured yesterday which made Madagascar 3 so enjoyable. 😉
Yay for rain and Madagascar 3. 🙂 Next time I have an almost empty jar I’m putting in some ice cream just for you! 🙂
That target picture is sooo true, hahah!! Glad you had such a wonderful weekend! 😀
That is cutest thing that Judah says! I love campfires and fire pits.
I watched the US Open all weekend 🙂
When you come over we’ll have a fire for you! We can roast sweet potatoes and prunes. 🙂
Awe! Judah is so precious that he says that! I admire you for being able to push a double stroller while walking/running. When I nannied I used to take the kids on daily walks and I would die when pushing that stroller up the hill, my butt was always so sore the next day! I always do that when I go into stores, have one item in mind and come out with 17. Your weekend sounds super fun, hope Stuft daddy had a great father’s day!! My weekend wasn’t too exciting since I caught an awful sickness, boo.
Hope you’re feeling better Lisa!!!! 🙂 Sorry you were sick over the weekend. And.. .yeah my tush was SORE after that stroller run. Ha ha.
PF Changs lettace wraps are my favoriiiiiiiiiite! I also love their hot teas!
Judah ate those lettuce wraps with a spoon like nobody’s business. LOL. Beavis- I didn’t even get to try the tea.
I’m so jealous that you have that awesome scenery to take nice long walks in. I need to live by the water!!
Target always pulls me in. Every darn time. I try to stay away as much as possible for this reason, haha.
And YES, you got cookies and cream protein! I use Dymatize’s cookies and cream which is great, too. Oh shoot, it has dairy in it. Good thing you like that one then! 🙂
Kristi- I don’t exactly live by the water. It’s takes about 30 minutes to get there, but I like to pretend I live there (hence all the pictures). Ha ha. 🙂 Target is a dangerous place.
Your sons making s’mores is a precious scene! Sounds like you had a family filled weekend!
Isn’t that cookies & Creme powder amazing!? its one of my favorite by far
Um yes, it is AMAZING!!!! 🙂
Love the food pics! BTW: Do you have a trick to making oats more voluminous?
Yes! Double the amount of liquid (if you’re cooking it on the stove) and adding chia always makes it more voluminous (cold or hot). 🙂 I can go into more detail. Email if you want!!! 🙂
Your kiddos are so cute!!! I can’t say that enough! Looks like such a perfect weekend. I hope your hubby had a great father’s day! We had another wedding this weekend, so it was busy busy over here!
Wedding, wedding wedding…… 🙂 You are a busy lady! 🙂
I love the plate! I finally ate at PF Changs for the first time a few months ago and they actually have some decent options. At least the pumpkin protein sort of sticks together for eating in the car. I have done much worse. 🙂
Good point. It did stick together just enough. Ha!
Oh Target, how I love thee! I just had one of those days today. Went in for toilet paper and deodorant. $140 later I had a full basket. Boom!
Boom is right! 🙂
My favorite from the weekend was working my butt of ripping our lanscapping apart and spending endless hours trying to self-host my blog and redesign it only to lose all my subsribers and buddies who read my stuff! ha, I love blogging but I hate the design part! Overall it was a decent weekend, but I didn’t make a good effort to put myself aside to play with the kids much, by the way how do the boys do on your long stroller rides? I couldn’t imagine them being so patient, or do they get out and run around a lot? by the way, we received kitty in the mail today! Herman still hasn’t come back and I told the boys this was our new kitty and Levi thought we were actually going to get a REAL kitty that looked like flat kitty but this was just a preview until the real thing comes haha
I hate all the bloggy technical stuff. I avoid it like the plague. One of these days my blog is going to coem crashing down. LOL. Boys do great on stroller rides thank goodness. I talk to them though A LOT during the run and don’t let them out until I’m done. Glad you got your Flat Kitty. I think Levi is on to something and that you should get a real hairless cat. Ha ha!
I just finished eating your breakfast STUFTwich for lunch. So fast, and so yummy! Thanks for the great idea 🙂
Anytime! I have it for breakfast pretty much everyday. 🙂 Glad you liked it Katie!
love your video! too freakin cute i tell ya and it looks hard 🙂
