Tuesday Confessions and a Challenge (Mini Workout Video)

I have some three moves for you this Tuesday. How nice, right?

I also have some random confessions to start things off. Monica does these confession posts every so often on her blog and since she’s hilarious and I think we’d be great friends of we ever met, I’m copying her.

Tuesday Confessions:

I forgot to tell you that we made some gourmet cupcakes over the weekend for Father’s Day.

IMG_1356

That’s right. I said gourmet. I followed the directions exactly (except for egg substitute instead of real eggs). I didn’t even make my low fat versions (this or this) like I usually do.

I even splurged and bought some new sprinkles that weren’t expired to doctor them up.

IMG_1357

(Sara- I couldn’t find expired ones for the life of me. Ha ha.)

I’ve had more than one cupcake in the past couple of days.

IMG_1363

So have these guys.

IMG_1358IMG_1359IMG_1361IMG_1362

I’m a zucchini hoarder.

IMG_1377

I like to burn them.

IMG_1382

I microwave marinara sauce in plastic. Is that bad?

IMG_1375

Oh, and I have a little obsession with crushed red pepper.

IMG_1373

I also think basil has a secret cleansing effect. Does it?

IMG_1378

I’ve been adding it to my roasted zucchini noodles frequently.

IMG_1384

I have not one, but two sandwich makers.

One for my breakfast STUFTwiches (or other sweet sandwiches that get messy).

IMG_1390

One for my cheese less sandwiches (or my former cheese sandwiches).

IMG_1380

I love this thing.

I have dessert every single night.

IMG_1389

Last night it was my low calorie ice cream with some frozen peanut butter frosting mixed in.

On the bottom was a chocolate Vitatop with a new dark chocolate frosting variation. (I had to try to stay away from the other cupcakes.)

IMG_1386

It was made from these two things and was amazing.

IMG_1394

Easiest Dark Chocolate Frosting

2 tablespoons dark cocoa powder (my favorite cocoa powder)

1 tablespoon sugar free flavored syrup of choice (I used Torani sugar free coconut)

Yeah. YUM.

Smile

My final confession. I desperately need to give Kitty a bath.

IMG_1381

Poor guy. He scratched his neck.

Okay, now here’s a little Tuesday Challenge for you. I may not have gotten a Tuesday Trainer video in this week (sorry Lindsay), but I did manage to tape a little mini workout challenge for you last week.

Here you go. It’s fun. I promise.

Smile

As always the boys provide a little entertainment and even do most of the moves with me.

Nice still shot.

Just in case you want a little printable version to take along with you everywhere you go.

Fun stuff!

Speaking of fun stuff, check out this post by my new friend Jenn of  Fit Bottomed Girls.

I met her at the last taping with my best friend Bob. Her post talks all about her special workout with “my boyfriend”.

IMG_2253

This wasn’t the Team Bob photo dump time, but my visit a couple of weeks ago that I have yet to post about. Oops.

Okay. I need to tackle a few things around here before teaching some classes. I’m contemplating making another trip up tomorrow to see Bob, but have the whole mama/family guilt thing going on. Ugh.

Do I do it because it’s an amazing opportunity and I have the family support that I can make it happen?

Or do I put family first and stay at home, clean the house, get caught up on business stuff and miss out? I feel like I’ve already made a lot of people go out of their way to help me out for all my other trips up there.

Sorry. Just thinking aloud here.

Decisions. Decisions.

Have a good day!

LOL – love your confessions. I’m a bit obsessed with chipotle flakes second to my regular chili flakes. And I tend to hoard all veggies then have to use them quickly last minute. And I like doing the alternating scissors (jump lunges whatever their called).

  2. 2

Your posts make me laugh so hard. I microwave sauce in plastic too. It will probably kill me one day. Maybe adding more basil will counter the effect though…

Laura- I’m glad you microwave in plastic too. I was expecting some nasty comments about that one. LOL. Let’s hope basil counters the effects, huh?

  3. 3

    1. Whats the expired sprinkle thing about? Do you get it free if they are on the shelf past the date?
    2. I think all green things cleanse ha, I’ve been using hemp protein in my smoothies and that stuff really really flushes you out, in a gentle natural way too!
    3. I just scored a sandwich press from the thrift store, the boys are constanly asking for “melted” sandwiches. So it’ll save some time!
    4. Totally jealous of your zucchini stash, you know, that might be the source of your “cleasing” hmm plant fiber!
    5. I think you totally deserve another date with bob.

      STUFT Mama says:

The sprinkles thing was because those other sprinkles I had been using were from 2009. No joke. I talked about it a couple times on the blog and Sara joked that she couldn’t find expired ones at the store. I’d be all over it though if they were free past the expiration date. I don’t care. LOL. I’ll tell Andrew that you say I deserve another date. Thanks for that Emily. :) Oh… so glad you got sandwich press. And… hemp protein…. you like it? :)

  4. 4

Oh yea the plastic should be fine, as long as it’s BPA haha

  5. 5

um yes, i microwave so many things that should not be microwaved… But I do have a question for you: how do you train for distance running and build/keep muscle tone?! I am training for my first marathon (!!!) and I’ve cut back on strength training because of time and my legs just get so sore that I can barely run!

    • 5.1
      STUFT Mama says:

Katie- First of all yay for training for your first marathon! So fun! I strength train/resistence train 3 times a week. I don’t go in the gym, it’s a lot of resistance bands, hand weights and body weight/HIIT training. (It’s actually all through classes I teach.) I have had to run with sore legs on occassion, but it actually makes them feel better sometimes. Hope that helps! I can give you mroe specifics if you need!

  6. 6

now i’m craving cupcakes! i still need to try out some of that “ice cream” you make. if you love it, i know i would too! :)

    Katie @ msfitrunner says:

This is what I learned from your awesome post – I MUST get those pink compression socks ASAP!!! I also MUST make that dessert you have every night and go buy some vitatops. And it would be very cool to work out with bob Harper as well, but thats not gonna happen so I’ll stick to socks and dessert:)
    Have an awesome day!!!

Thanks to your confessions I now have Usher’s song stuck in my head as well as a few hail Mary’s. The good Catholic girl comes out every now and then. :)

Tough choice with your boyfriend. Good luck on deciding!

I have to watch your video with out doing it the first time b/c I am laughing at the boys, at your pop up comments etc…too funny. But, then I do the workout and I am DYING of SWEAT! ;-) (just so ya know!)

GO see your boy toy….maybe some day he will ask you to guest spot on BL too…as a guest trainer of course!!

      STUFT Mama says:

Kathy- I’ll tell Andrew you told me to go. Hoe you’re okay with that. :) Glad you did the workout. It’s a good one for being so short isn’t it? Too bad my “helpers” couldn’t come help you in person. LOL.

BEST video ever!! The boys were adorable doing the exercises, calling them by name, etc. For what it is worth, my favorite part of your post are the videos with the boys:) Have a great week!

      STUFT Mama says:

Krista- That is worth alot. Those are the msot fun for me to do anyway. I should do more, huh. Maybe we’ll do another one in the kitchen next. :) I need a darn video camera.

    Carolyn says:

I love your videos!! That is a lot of red pepper, do you have any taste buds left at all?:). I too have to have dessert every night. I have tried so often to give it up but it just makes me grumpy. I figure if I eat super healthy all day then it’s ok! Have a fantastic Tuesday.

    • 14.1
      STUFT Mama says:

Yes- dessert rocks. I get super grumpy if I don’t have it either and then I feel like I’m depriving myself of something. Not good. Hope you had a great Tuesday! :)

  15. 15

Love that workout! I’m adding it to mine tomorrow! I have a HUGE addiction to the hot peppers now thanks to you! They go on EVERYTHING!!! I had a very similar dinner last night! YUM! I say yes to Bob, but you knew what I would say already…

Have a great day my friend!

  16. 16

I bet I could find expired sprinkles at my Target. They have this whole area of way outdated food for cheap. It’s disgusting. I’d buy something a week or two past, but I’m not buying granola bars from 2011!! I think they are not supposed to be selling that stuff anymore. ANYWAY, what to do about Bob…hmmm…Can you go like once a month or do they call you and say “Come tomorrow.” It’s a tough one. I don’t think you need to feel guilty. It’s part of your career and it’s not like you go everyday. What I do know is that you can continue putting anything in the microwave that does not explode. That which does not explode will not kill you. :)

    • 16.1
      STUFT Mama says:

My marinara kind of exploded all over the place tonight. Darn plastic cup tipped over. Lame. Um yeah, not sure your Target is allowed to sell expired stuff like that. Shouldn’t that be pulled from the shelves? Weird. I don’t make it to all the Bob tapings. Just the ones that actually do fit in my schedule. It’s just alot (gas money, time, etc.). Hopefully it’s all worth it. :) Darn Bob. He he.

    sarah says:

So if I do the workout I get to be as buff as you, riiiight!? Hehe, I love your workouts and I really enjoyed the video:).

So I tried to find the infamous red pepper flakes at the store and couldn’t, BOO. So I got the red chilli flakes that they had instead- is like the same? One things for sure I could not handle the quantity you use! A small pinch is enough for my wimpy tastebuds.

Ooft, I say go see Bob- opportunities like that are RARE. Well, don’t miss out on it for cleaning, that’s for suckas(that’s my motto at least:p).
    Xxx

      STUFT Mama says:

Good motto Sarah. And yes, red chili flakes should be the same thing. :) I should probably try having just a pinch instead of the massive amounts I consume. LOL.

  18. 18

Love your post! And video! Thanks for sharing! And btw-those zucchini noodles look sooo good! I can’t wait til mine are ready!

Check out my latest recipe @ bakingblissful.blogspot.com

Oh I love Jen from FBG! How cool to hang out with her.

And I love all your confessions. I would be all over cupcakes too. And red pepper flakes. I think we’re a match made in heaven.

  20. 20

How in the world do you use so much crushed red pepper? I swear I put like one dash and my mouth is on FIRE! hahaha. Love all your confessions. Dessert is the best :)

Have you chocolate covered katie’s one minute chocolate cake? Very yummy. Also, here’s a new recipe for you although I cant take credit: mix some Greek yogurt with chocolate powdered protein. Taste like chocolate pudding.

      STUFT Mama says:

Lora Lee- I’d be all over that if I was eating yogurt these days. :) Thanks for the recipe. I haven’t tried her one minute cake yet. Does it have a lot of ingredients?

    Samantha says:

    Oh my gosh! Thank you!

I had to miss lifting last night, I literally just got home. Your video made me laugh, I am out of breath, and my muscles feel worked. This is exactly what I needed…and you didn’t even know.

    So here is my confession:

Friday night I sat my exhausted self down for a large dinner and kept smelling cat food and thought dinner tasted odd. Turns out I was eating with the fork I used to scoop out the wet cat food for their dinner. I have been vegetarian for over 20 years and vegan about 15. To be honest except for a restaurant mishap about 12 or so years ago I believe cat food is officially the first meat I have had in a LONG time. Awesome.

The epilogue confession: I just got a new fork and kept eating.

Thank you again for that video. It was perfect. I look forward to more.

  25. 25

I’m a squash and zucchini hoarder, and I like mine kinda burnt too! :) You’re not alone.

So the cup was supposed to look like that–right? It didn’t melt? My husband freaks about microwaving plastic so I try not to–or do it and refrain from telling him :-) I would love for you to do a “day in the life of Kitty” post. I’m so curious about Kitty. Like if it is easy for him to be cut because he lacks fur, why he has fur on his back and head and not anywhere else, what he does all day. How he likes the other pets and the Twins…things like that :-) I love pets, so maybe I’m the only one who cares, but I just adore Kitty. I love seeing his face on our ‘fridge! (Ok and his body…since it is Flat Kitty.)

      Sara says:

Oh, and I made cupcakes for Father’s Day too! Using egg substitute and applesauce :-) They were a huge hit! I splurged and bought icing instead of making my own. I’m so bad. Ha ha ha And I used leftover Easter sprinkles. For our dads. They were little tiny flowers. HA HA

I’m loving your confessions! I definitely love my red pepper flakes as well, and I also microwave my marinara or tomato sauce in plastic! Who cares anyways ;) I also hoard zucchini, almond milk, egg whites, broccoli slaw, spaghetti squash and kabocha squash. Oopsy, I swear people who come into my place think I am so batty for the abundance of food products I have going on. I just never want to run out haha. And I definitely have dessert every night :) I don’t get how people can just eat dinner and go to bed after, I have to end my day on a sweet note! Oh I’m totally doing your video today!! I needed a workout, so this one looks like a goody!
