So yes, I made the trip to LA once again to hand out with my best friend Bob. I really should make a page where I have all my recaps in one place since there’s a good handful of them now. That would be smart. Kind of like a page devoted to “my boyfriend” and his online club BobHarper.com. Hmmm….I just might have to do that.
I didn’t take many pictures yesterday (playing it cool) or get to my goals I had in mind. I did manage to get a little video though of him talking my through some CrossFit stuff. Pretty darn cool. I’ve only watched it about 10 times already. Ha.
Before I get to yesterday’s visit, it’s only fair that I recap my visit from a couple weeks ago first. How did I drop the ball on that one?
Oops. Oh well. Here we go.
I’ll do a “here’s what usually happens” kind of a thing so you feel like you’re there too. Sound good?
The last trip I made up to Watch It Now Entertainment studios was a couple weeks ago (the day after the boys and I did the donuts in pajamas thing). The drive takes me about 3 hours. Yeah, I’m dedicated (or really silly for making the long trip).
I usually have my breakfast STUFTwich in the car
(and hope that no jelly spills on my shirt or in my crotch).
When I get to the studio (sometimes on time, sometimes not), they’re usually taping a Bob’s Fit Foods segment in the kitchen. I’ve got to find a way to get in that kitchen with him, don’t you think?
I’m also usually about to pee my pants from the coffee and the long drive.
When they finish taping the kitchen stuff they move to the other gym to tape the one-on-one segment (where we taped my proper introduction to Fran). Frequently I get a little jealous of whomever gets the one-on-one time with Bob for the day, but I deal. The rest of hang out in this room
complete with a goodie table for awhile.
I try to make myself feel better by dressing up for my trainer Bob with some cool shoes and socks
and then beg my Team Bob friends to take pictures of me for the blog.
I know you’re all dying to see my outfit.
When the camera crew is ready for us, we head into the taping studio, find our spots and try to figure out what kind of workout Bob’s going to make us do. It’s always different. it’s always tough. It’s always about 20 or so minutes of actual taping time.
Oh wait, I’ve got to introduce you to Bridget. She’s like the Team Bob captain. Seriously, he loves her (we all do). She rocks every single workout and is just darn fun.
And check out this girl Charidy. She’s awesome too (and has really great hair).
Oh look. Another picture of myself. How did that get in here?
Yes, I am totally annoying in person. I’m sure the other girls talk about me behind my back. At least they’re all nice to my face.
Once we’re in the studio and get our spots we get to see our workout on the board.
Bob usually comes in at this point.
He gives me a giant hug and says how much he’s missed me and he’s so glad I made the drive up. He talks us through what we’ll be doing for the day. Sometimes there’s some chit chat involved, sometimes not that much.
His dog Karl is always there though. Bob is always so nice and fun and ready to put us to work. And my man loves to talk CrossFit.
Once we’re all prepped and Bob makes sure we know what we’re doing, the cameras start rolling.
When we’re done taping I always try to be that girl playing it cool and just walking away like it was no big deal. I find at least one more opportunity to take a picture.
Look at all of Bob’s ladies.
This particular time, I made my way back in the studio to ask Bob for another picture (since I don’t have enough). I think my excuse this time was because we were both wearing compression socks.
I also had to introduce myself to Jenn from Fit Bottomed Girls, who was the lucky lady with the one-on-one session with Bob and got to hang out with him pretty much all day. She wrote a great recap about it here.
She is so nice and cute in person. I ‘m not sure, but I’m pretty sure we’re like this .
On the way home I’m usually starving and in serious need of Starbucks. I pass at least three Starbucks on the way back to the freeway hoping someone will run out and deliver my favorite Starbucks drink to my window while I’m at a stoplight.
It never happens and I don’t stop because I want to beat traffic as much as possible.
I dig into my snacks instead.
Disclaimer- While I love my Supreme Protein Bars, they do not sit well with my stomach with my new very limited dairy lifestyle. I always learn things the hard way. If you don’t have any dairy issues though, you should check these bars out. They’re just like candy.
If I’m really lucky, and my long LA trips are on days that I teach, I even get to go straight to the gym and teach a couple more classes.
Yep, that last trip just happen to be one of those lucky days.
Okay, so that’s wrap on part 1. Stay tuned for a part 2 coming up with my trip from yesterday and a video. Woot woot!
Beavis. I totally forgot about a Flat Kitty Friday theme for this week. I’ve gotten a couple pictures already so email me any pictures you want included in Friday’s post by tonight. Maybe some summer kick off pictures to celebrate the beginning of summer? Favorite summer cocktail or wine? Favorite nut butter? Oh, I don’t know.
