This is What Happens When….

This is What Happens When….

Don’t worry, you don’t have to hear about my workouts yesterday. Mondays are long friends. Teaching six classes, three different trips to different gym…. you know.

So I’ll stick to business. Just for you.

Note- Yesterday’s Ginormous Green Pumpkin Microwave Muffin recipe has been edited since Emily pointed out that I forgot the green ingredient. I’m so smart sometimes.

This is what happens when……

I’m running late (as usual) and don’t have time to get breakfast for the boys.

They get defrosted gourmet green pancakes while I teach stroller class.

I realize I went the whole day without taking any pictures and I decide I want to show you my sweaty, tired mug.

I wash and use my cool Starbucks travel mug a few too many times. Poor Flat Kitty. No wonder he’s been acting like he can’t hear me.

I attempt to make a quick trip to Smart and Final on the way home from the gym late at night to get a few party supplies.

In my defense, I had to buy at least 6 Torani syrups to get the special $3.99 a bottle price.

The one I’m most excited about is the peanut butter flavor. I’ve never seen that one before.

I did a little happy dance in the store.

What the?

Oh, this happens also.

And… not pictured, but broccoli slaw is back in the house and we have enough shredded iceberg lettuce to feed about 30 people.

This is what happens when I’m deliriously tired and take a closer look at Kitty and realize his manboobs look particularly saggy late at night.

This is what happens when I get distracted taking random pictures when everyone else is in bed.

Oops. Another late dinner and I burn some roasted zucchini noodles and roasted broccoli slaw yet again.

This is what happens when you have great friends who read your blog and understand your obsession with spicy things. My friend Jenny sent me this new hot sauce to try

and homemade crushed pepper that I’ve been adding to everything.

Speaking of Jenny, she’s celebrating her one year blogiversary today and giving away a copy of Kristin Armstrong’s book Mile Markers. You can enter her giveaway here.

This is what happens when I’m out of Vitatops. I really figure out how to doctor up a high protein dark chocolate muffin.

This one has a PB2 glaze with Splenda, brown sugar, some soy milk and a little maple extract, a scoop of Better”n Peanut Butter some smoked sea salt and some sprinkles.

And… this three ingredient fudge makes a comeback.

This is what happens when I tell the boys that when they wear underwear and go pee pee in the potty they get to go back to Legoland.

I spent my “office hours” the other day googling potty charts. This is the one we’re going with.

You can find it here if you’re in need of one (for your kids, yourself, whomever).

That’s right. I have one too and not to brag or anything, but I’m in the lead so far. Ha ha.

Oh, and while I’m talking pee, I ordered this travel potty from Amazon last week for $13.99 to help with the whole potty training thing.

2 in 1 Potette Plus Travel Potty

Now if I can only remember to bring it with us when we leave the house. Ha.

And…… THIS is what happens when I get the brilliant idea that I want to run another marathon and enter a contest to get an entry.

Woot woot!!!!!

I’m so excited. Now I just need to figure out a few things:

– how to be marathon race ready in less than 4 weeks

– how to get to San Francisco at the end of the month

– how to get into the VIP party at the race

and most importantly

– how to convince STUFT Daddy that a weekend “racecation” is the perfect way to celebrate our anniversary.

He he.

Wish me luck. I need it.

We’ve got a little fiesta for Tutu tonight and a I’m running a race tomorrow morning. Mexican food before a race. That’s a good idea, isn’t it?

The race is a 15K and I could use your advice-

What do you think…

run with the stroller just for fun (and attention and to annoy other runners)

run by myself and try to win an award in my age group?

I can’t decide.

Happy Birthday to Tutu today and my best friend Jenn!

Have a great day!

Don’t forget to enter the Mizuno Mezamashii Run Project Giveaway. Even if you’ve entered if you need some running inspiration you should read all the brilliant run comments. They are amazing.

Congrats on winning the race!! I just attempted a protein muffin of sorts, inspired by yours, but I didnt have all of those ingredients – will be interesting!
Quick question – do you know anything about afaa personal trainer cert? I don’t need a long answer, just a “good”, “bad” or “indifferent” 🙂 I want to get certified and they offer the weekend seminar, which is why I’m leaning that way – thought I’d check!
    Have a great day:)

Congrats on getting into the marathon! I’m so happy for you! Stuft Daddy will totally love the idea of a racecation for his anniversary…especially if you let him sleep in that morning! Good luck on the training…I know you will do great though! You have new speedy shoes too!

Congrats on getting into the marathon! I think you could feel it coming and that’s why you got that long run in. Or you just wanted to show off 😉 Good pumpkin haul! My wal-mart finally ran out (read: I bought all their pumpkin) so now I have to find somewhere else where it’s cheap-ish. That picture of you in the oven needs to be somewhere extra-awesome, like your driver’s license, lol.

That’s fantastic that you won an entry! I’m sure Stuft Daddy will think it’s a great anniversary racecation. You don’t have to pay the entry fee – $ saved!

Good luck and rock your brilliant run!

Wooohoo congrats!!! You will do great. I’m sure Stuft Daddy would love to do that for your anniversary! He should 😀

    Jessica Jones says:

You should definitely do the racecation!!! My hub and I did it this year in SLO for our anniversary, and it was a really nice anniversary celebration:) and I think you should run solo so you can prepare yourself before your marathon, I read it’s good to do a race before to make sure you can pace yourself correctly.

Haha. Loving on the flat kitty tumbler. Congrats on getting in on the marathon!! Um, my pumpkin stash looks a lot like yours…I have 8 in my cupboard right now…oopsy. I burnt my zucchini last night and it reminded me of your burned veggies. Just a cool story I thought I’d share, but now realize that’s pretty lame;) I hope StuftDaddy like the idea of the racecation. That sounds like a fun anniversary!

    Joy says:

Yay! Congratulations on getting into the SF marathon. That’s wonderful. Maybe your husband will want to go just to celebrate your winning an entry. 🙂

I say run solo for your 15k. You’re such a strong runner and it’s always fun to win an award if you can (not that I know what that’s like, but I can dream).

Thanks so much for mentioning the giveaway! I appreciate it 🙂

Does Stuft daddy have a potty chart too? Wouldn’t want to leave him out 🙂

Woot Woot – so excited you got another free marathon entry – you are the queen of free races!! And the last time your ran a marathon on short notice you BQd, so I’m not worried about your ability to prepare in time. 🙂

I want some of that PB Torani!!

  12. 12

Congrats on your marathon entry!! I have never run a complete marathon. You are a machine woman!! 🙂 I don’t think your hubby will mind a racecation at all! Sounds like fun!

So excited to read about your marathon. I have decided to tackle my first full this spring. Do you have any good training plan recommendations?

    sarah says:

Wait a minute , didn’t you need a daiper in one of your last races? Don’t cheat one of your sons out in the lead position in potty training!( Haha, jk, sorry couldn’t help it:p).

I think I would run the 15k with the stroller( if I could-not likely). The fact you can run at a fantastic pace over a great distance with your boys is all kinds of AWESOME! I can’t even run with a water bottle because it gets in my way and weighs me down. And a huuuge congrats on the marathon- you’ll smash it.

I made your high protein chocolate muffin! It was not quite as pimped out as your one above- that thing looks amazing- but it was seriously good. Big and fudgy:).

Have a great 4th of July!!

    Samantha says:

OK, totally non-compete girl here…but run with the stroller. However. you might be sunk if you have a child-breakdown and that would be a bummer. I love that you won! That is awesome and I actually like San Francisco (to visit, not live). Talk about some fabulous eating.

Poor Kitty. He says where is his spanx, bra, and clothing? Actually, he probably doesn’t does he? There is much we can learn from a naked cat.

    lindsay says:

you won!! how cool! and uh, spicy is my middle name. that and wine of course.

    Jessica says:

I am a self-admitted Torani Sugar-Free syrup addict, and I have to say, the PB flavor is oddly delicious! I use the syrup in my coffee every morning, and I was leery about the PB at first, but I have bought it multiple times since! It takes a few trials to get used to, but it basically just tasted like you stirred a spoonful of PB in! Yum!

Congrats on winning!! I won a half marathon a few months ago and it was awesome! No entry fee and a PR!

Oh my gosh I just spit wine all over my keyboard–I am totally printing off myself a potty chart;-) Actually that will be quite helpful in training my toddler;-)

Hooray for another marathon–you could run it tomorrow and rock it!

haha I love the comment about Flat Kitty’s ear. I’m so jealous of your bigger cans of pumpkin, I found them once but now we only get the little cans that I can go through in like two days (hehe). Let me know how that peanut butter syrup tastes because that sounds so good!

    Sam says:

You remind me that I need to get some more awesome syrups ! The pb one sounds pretty yummy and so does that brownie you made!! I love the picture on the microwave! Too funny!
