Weekend Highlights and The Ultimate Sandbag

This past weekend we had party after party and not once, but twice I “cleaned up” to go to a party by putting on a clean headband and spraying on a little perfume over my dried sweat. Ha ha. Lovely.

Want to see something else that’s lovely? My night last night looked like this. Ha ha.

 

The breakfast highlight of the weekend for the boys was making just a few gourmet green pancakes with our favorite Coach’s Oats multigrain pancake mix.

They’re always a hit and I love freezing all the leftovers for easy breakfasts later on during the week.

My breakfast highlight was this almost empty SunButter jar of goodness I filled with scrambled eggs and oats (a non green version of green eggs and oats) yesterday.

12 gas chainsaw Egg Whites and Oats in a Jar

In the mix-

1/2 cup egg whites

1/2 tablespoon of chia

1/3 cup Coach’s Oats

1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk

1 Splenda packet

splash of vanilla

cinnamon

 

I microwaved it all together for about 5 minutes or so in a separate container and then scooped it into the SunButter jar.

 

Then topped it with a little sugar free maple syrup and chia berry jam.

I also may have sprinkled a little Love grown Foods granola on there after I took this picture for a little added crunch.

And I’ve made this protein cookie with GNC egg white protein just a few more times. I’m working on getting it just right for you all.

My weekend errands included a trip to Walmart for the first time in about a year.

They have some pretty great stuff there.

I found my old favorite Naturally More for a pretty great price.

Yep. I totally stocked up. I also found my favorite light Soy Slender vanilla soymilk for under $2 which is rare. So yeah, I stocked up on that also.

A stop at Starbucks was a must after all that shopping to exchange some coffee (to support my morning coffee routine) and get my new drink of choice (which is considerably cheaper than my favorite Starbucks drink).

Back at the house STUFT Daddy got his first pair ever of Mizuno shoes.

Woo hoo! I’m so excited for him! He is now officially a part of the Mezamashii run project.

 

I also got another LOVE Grown Foods “love drop” with our favorite granola.

Um, yeah, we are in Cho-heaven over here. My little Chobani Champions are set for awhile. We are so lucky.

 

Now let’s talk about the sandbag.

As a FitFluential Ambassador I got the opportunity to receive The Ultimate Sandbag awhile ago.

It came in the package with a booklet and a DVD with 6 different workouts.

I actually got to meet Josh Henkin, who invented The Ultimate Sandbag at the IDEA Health and Fitness Expo last month.

He put me through this two minute rotational lunge challenge with one of his sandbags.

Try this at home! :)

Naturally after I got challenged like this in public, I had STUFT Daddy fill up my sandbag as soon as possible.

I only had him fill up one of the inside filler bags so I could ease into my training. Check out all the different handles on this bad boy for various hand positions.

I love that you can get a full body workout with one piece of equipment and that most of the moves engage quite a few major muscle groups.

This awesome sandbag was also just featured in this Men’s Health article about new fat loss exercises.

So naturally the boys and I had to make a workout video for you.

 

Now, this is not the first workout video I taped. I warned you about that one in this post. Ha ha. I may have to publish it anyway though since if nothing else it would be entertaining.

This workout though is awesome because it’s quick. It’s only five minutes, but targets the whole body. Any workout that combines lower and upper body training and gets your heart rate up is definitely a keeper, especially if your someone who’s pressed for time (like myself).

    I think this sandbag looks awesome. Anything to change it up.
    That’s exciting your husband has Mizunos now! I love mine, they are so cushion-y. Pretty sure that’s not a word. But they’re the only shoes I’ve had that I haven’t needed to put extra heel inserts in!
    Still breathlessly awaiting the cookie recipe.

    I actually had my first amazing run this past Saturday! I cut 5 minutes off my 5k time and I felt light as a feather! Thank you for my shoes and my incredible run! Love StuftDaddy’s shoes! Super cute! Now he has magic shoes too!

    I pretty much avoid Walmart these days. We do have a new Walmart Neighborhood Market that we went to last week. Probably the first time I’ve ever been to one of those types of stores and the first time into Walmart in at least a year as well. But it’s much more convenient so we decided to check it out.

    I LOVED watching all those great moves w/your “new friend”! I might need a “new friend” too!!!
    I’m also thinking I need a timer- ! I really like that you keep going until you hear the buzzer, I’ve used my phone, but not the most convenient for planks and stuff!
    ENJOY all of your goodies- next time you needed to arm yourself with a squirt bottle, too! Then you could’ve done a one armed push-up, and squirted those boys! Ha! As always, thanks for the giggles just watching those twins! Hugs & blessings~ Janet

    I really have to thank you for helping entertain me through the video. Laughing in a workout really does help doesn’t it? :)

    I laughed when you asked if we were still going and love that you are exerting right along with us. I do bent over rows with my hands “the other way” I think you know what I mean…like pulling up a bar. So I am going to try experimenting with the different hand placement.

    There are two mom’s in this world: ones that would blow up with the squirt bottle interruptions (or not even have their kids out there) and moms that stop, fix the bottle, and get right back down to working out. You are awesome and a huge inspiration. :)

    Don’t have the sandbag but seriously hand weights/no weight work just fine. I was sweating and breathing by the end. I need a timer.

      Ha. Samantha you’re funny. I don’t even let the boys phase me these days. I just don’t have a choice.
      I do rows with the grip you’re talking about sometimes too. I like to change it up every time.

    Naturally More is my go to Peanut Butter too. It always seems to be the cheapest natural one at the store. And awesome job at those sandbags by the way!

    Those oats in a jar gave me an idea for my breakfast tomorrow! I am a yogurt addict, how did you get them to send you so much?? Very curious! I live in Canada and I have not seen this brand here before. Sometimes I will go to Buffalo when I am not busy and buy a couple containers. Apple Cinnamon is one of my favorites.
