You know, like this Dr. Seuss book. Which, might I just add is not the shortest bedtime story to read when you’re tired. I tried once to skip some pages, but that didn’t go over too well.
So it is no joke about the connection between lack of sleep and appetite. Friends, if I’m tired and haven’t been sleeping enough I’m hungry all day. I mean all freaking day. I wrote a post about way back when and tracked it down last night.
I really should be taking my own advice. I also really should be taking more time focus on my summer priorities as I’ve been so busy lately I haven’t been. It’s time to refocus.
While I work on that today, you should try some of these drinks. Yeah, I’ve been a drink creating machine because of this hot weather (and my fatigue situation). I always crave big cold drinks on hot days. The only way I didn’t eat us all out of house and home yesterday was to keep drinking water and different concoctions all day.
Don’t get me wrong, I still ate a ton. Here was my lunch (yes, just my lunch) I consumed during my afternoon “office hours”.
If you haven’t tried this protein frosting yet, you are really missing out. It goes on everything over here.
Oh, did you notice my special drink?
Pretty snazzy right?
Let’s start the drink chat.
Check this baby out.
Um, yeah. Nothing special, it’s just my café Americano recipe, but I discovered yesterday that you can froth cold almond milk. It doesn’t froth as well as regular milk, but holy smokes it makes this drink that much more fun. I just used this handy dandy milk frother with 1/4 cup cold unsweetened almond milk.
Fabulous. My little frother is making a comeback.
We’ve been having earlier mornings here than usual. Here’s a picture from yesterday at exactly 6:00 am.
Our morning usually entails getting dressed, spending a long time trying to get everyone to go pee pee in the potty, feeding all the animals and then getting coffee for mama (with my morning coffee routine) and getting the boys their milk.
Judah requests plain soymilk while Joaquin wants regular milk or chocolate. If it’s a special day he gets chocolate milk.
In his special Starbucks cup.
I posted this on instagram yesterday, but thought I’d share here too.
STUFT Tots Chocolate Milk
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
1 tablespoon agave
milk of choice
Mix the cocoa and agave together to form a paste. Then add milk. If you don’t do it that way it doesn’t blend very well.
And, well, I keep making these different kickin’ it summer citrus tea concoctions so here was what I came up with yesterday.
I’m all about adding apple cider vinegar to drinks lately. If you add them to something sweet it helps take the bite out of the vinegar a bit.
It was awesome.
Oh and hey, we got a very special delivery yesterday.
Have a good day!
Do you have a favorite summer drink?
