Another Date and a Little Pin-Spiration


Hey friends!

So um, yeah, I’ve got an early date with my best friend Bob and I’m already up way too late. Not good. We’re taping three workouts in a row this time and I’m keeping my fingers crossed I’m in all three. I really better get some stinking sleep.

So I guess you’re in luck. 

Another shorty short post. I’m sure on a roll these days with quality content aren’t I?


Today’s workout:

2 mile toasty stroller walk trying to find someplace to have breakfast with the boys while my car was getting the oil changed and a smog certificate

3.5 mile run on the treadmill at the gym

Taught 45 minute BOSU class at the gym

Taught 1 hour boot camp class


Yeah, so Judah was up at 5:30 am this morning doing the whole “I want to cuddle” thing (which actually means I want to kick you in the crotch a bazillion times, ask for water, and do anything I can to not let you sleep anymore). When I finally got out of bed this happened.


Well of course. What a guy. Later on the boys and I went exploring while my car was getting some work done. Our exploring led us here.


Well okay. Here’s my breakfast dates.


Yes, they brought Judah a spatula from the back because his drumming with the fork was getting a little too loud for the other customers. Oopsies.

I got an egg white veggie omelet with hash browns. I asked for extra salsa, a jalapeño added to my omelet and to make sure everything was cooked dry.


Some people might call me high maintenance. Some people also might think it’s weird that I brought my own hot seasoning and hot sauce in my purse.


I just can’t help myself sometimes.

I just can’t pass up a coffee shop for a café Americano sometimes either even if I’ve already had my iced perfect summer mocha a couple hours earlier.



I won’t show you a bunch of food pictures because I can barely keep my eyes open, but I did try this Vega Performance Protein in Vanilla in some pumpkin protein dough (minus the oats so it was more like a goo) today since I’m out of my favorite GNC vanilla egg protein powder.


And yeah, I totally dug out the packet from the trash after I realized how yummy my goo/dough creation was. Then I found this old picture from when I was writing about all the fun samples I got at The San Francisco Marathon Expo that I could’ve just shown you instead.


Well of course.

The protein was good. The pumpkin protein dough creation was even better.

The pictures on the other hand were not so great (because I was stuffing my face).

Hey look, a little Reebok shopping during my “office hours”.


Ha ha. A girl can dream. A girl can stuff her face with this protein packed snack.


Here’s the concoction:

Protein Pumpkin Dough Dip Goo

1/2 cup pumpkin

1 serving vanilla protein powder

8-10 grams chia (or just a small spoonful)

6 drops vanilla stevia (or sweetener of choice if needed)

pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, nutmeg

splash of almond extract (or vanilla)


Mix all ingredients together. Cover and chill for at least an hour.


I topped mine with a variation of coconut maple frosting and PB2.


I also ate it with cinnamon crisps and chased it down with a juicy green citrus tea (minus the kale).


There’s apple cider vinegar in there of course. It’s my new thing.


You know what else is my new thing? My new Reebok gear. I’ve been lucky enough to get a little taste of some amazing Reebok workout clothes and shoes through being a FitFluential Ambassador. Now I’m hooked.

Oh, and Pinterest. Yeah, it started last week with creating my own Fit Pin-Spiration board for my FitSugar post, but then I got selfish and spent a little time over the past weekend to pin my own dessert recipes on a a different board. That’s allowed isn’t it?


I’m not sure if you saw my guest post on FitSugar last week, but in case you missed it, you really need to know about this Fitness Pin-Spiration contest. Between you and me I really want one of you to win it.


You get to create a fun Pinterest board with your real life fitness hero and and some awesome Reebok fitness gear that you like (for example these shoes or these shoes). You make a wish list of fun fitness gear and write about your inspirational hero on your board. Warning though, not only do you get hooked into the Reebok website by all of their athletes, the information and the newest technology, but you can get lost in the Reebok online store and end up pretty much wanting everything they have.

When is Christmas again?


Here’s all the important contest stuff:

By creating your own Fit Pin-Spiration board you can enter to win a girls’ weekend for two to NYC, complete with a Reebok shopping spree and a starring role in an inspirational fitness video.

How awesome is that? You just need to make sure your inspirational fitness hero is someone who personally inspires you. It should be someone in your life who could be featured with you as part of Reebok’s Holiday campaign in case you win.


Here are the details:

Fitness Pinspiration Pinterest Contest

Steps to Enter Pinterest Contest:

1)      Follow Reebok on Pinterest (www.pinterest.com/RBKUSA)

2)      Create a Pinterest Board titled “My Fit Pin-Spiration” (here’s my example)

3)      Build out your board with real-life fitness hero stories. Add a photo of your real-life fitness inspiration hero by clicking the +Add button on your board and writing a short description explaining why you have nominated them.

4)      Make sure to include a collage of your favorite Reebok fitness wardrobe and technology (ZigLite, RealFlex, or SmoothFlex) pulling from Reebok’s Pinterest board, Reebok.com or Reebok.com/Custom. (Minimum 5 pins, please)

5)      The board name must include Reebok and/or Reebok product names and be categorized under Fitness.

6)      Hashtag each of your pins with #MYFITPIN.

7)      Leave a comment on the Reebok Contest Announcement Pin with a link to your “Fitness Pin-Spiration” Board!


*Once you have created your board, don’t forget to email reebokcontest@sugarinc.com with a link to your “My Fit Pinspiration” board.



·        Trip for two to NYC for a Girl’s Weekend.

·        Visit to the NYC Reebok FitHub and a $1000 per person shopping spree for Reebok footwear/apparel.

Doesn’t that sound like one heck of a contest? Oh my goodness, I think you should go start your Fit Pin-Spiration board as soon as possible.

And… what do you know. My Trainer Bob is on my board quite a bit because the man sure does inspire me. I hope I get enough rest to impress him in a few short hours.

    Not weird at all for bringing your own sauce! My husband recently had me bring a sweet potato in my purse {in a baggie} when we went out to eat. Now that might be just slightly weird! 😉 I have got to make this pumpkin goo!! Have fun with your “boyfriend” today!

    I am having this protein pumpkin goo as I type this! I don’t have any flat out yumminess so I made one waffle and put it on top, the rest is being forked in 😉 PS I want to have a date with you AND bob!

    Yay, A Bob day! And you DO have the Mrs. Dash extra spicy! Love it. That’s nice they brought him a spatula instead of saying “hey make your kid be quiet”. I want to drum on tables for fun..

    Have fun with Bob! Ha ha, I love your high maintenance-ness. I’m basically the same. Whatever. Some people look at me like I’m a crazy person, but its fine. I love pumpkin mixed with protein powder, such a good treat!
    I need to try out that egg white protein, since whey protein hates my skin.

    Have a good date with Bob! Toes to bar is such a great ab exercise, but SO HARD! I love reading about your early wake up call! My son does the same thing: he always says he wants to “cuddle”with me, but he ends up kicking me, poking me in the face and asking to drink my water! 🙂
