Poo or Goo?

Poo or Goo?

I’m so mature. I’m on a time crunch this morning. STUFT Daddy and I made a deal. I have an hour to get my work done (about 20 minutes left of it now) and then he gets the day to do his work. Tomorrow we have other arrangements.

Speaking of tomorrow….. it’s the first freaking day in September. Really? What the heck?

I totally want to sit down tonight and come up with some September goals. You too?

Yesterday’s workout:

What? No, I’m not wearing the same Handful tank top as I did the day before for my date. That’s just silly. (But yes, laundry is on my to do list today.)

4.5 treadmill run

taught a couple classes at the Y- step/interval and group strength training

Side note- group strength training classes are the best! I love them so much more than doing the machines in the gym.

My new morning drink is a café Americano but with 1 teaspoon of coconut oil added to the espresso and some cinnamon sprinkled in there.

It’s so darn good. At the end you get these little coconut oil chunks that are just delicious. Kelly Olexa gave me the idea. She’s genius.

Cinnamon Coconut Americano

brewed espresso

1-3 teaspoons coconut oil

1/4-1/2 cup nondairy milk

sweetener (optional)

Mix together espresso, coconut oil and cinnamon.

Then add cold water, ice, and 1/4-1/2 cup cold nondairy milk of choice. (I use unsweetened vanilla almond milk. I also am into this new frothing cold milk thing so I froth the milk first.)

Add sweetener if desired. (I add 1-2 stevia packets.)

Yep. Good stuff. I just had another one, but I sucked it down too fast I couldn’t take a picture.

Let’s talk Goo really quick. Yes, Goo, not poo although this picture I posted on instagram yesterday got some pretty funny comments.

Lately I’ve been making new versions of good everyday. Here was yesterday’s goo of choice.

Chocolate Pumpkin Protein Goo

1/2 cup pumpkin

30 grams chocolate protein powder (1 serving)

10 grams chia

Mix all ingredients together, cover and chill. Makes a great dip or spread. My favorite combination is actually 15 grams of GNC chocolate soy protein powder and 15 grams Cookies and Cream protein powder.

You can also sub in PB2 for 1/2 of the protein powder like I did here.

Or you can sub in applesauce for the pumpkin and make apple PB goo.

It’s so GOO’d friends.

Even though some might say it looks like poo.

Ha ha ha.

Oh yeah, yesterday’s wrap had some low calorie peanut butter frosting in it too. What can I say, it was just perfection in a Flatout wrap.

Okay, I have to run. My time is up and I’m subbing a class today.

Shortest post ever? Maybe. I guess it’s your lucky day.

Have a great Friday!

Hoping to get another STUFT in the Kitchen video to you soon! I’m sure you can’t wait. Ha ha.

Goals for September anyone?

I’m all about the coffee drink above… not so much a fan of that brown pumpkin sushi roll — that’s not the name, but that’s what I’m calling it.

  2. 2

Love the idea of that pumpkin goo. I bet it would be great on apples or a rubber bumper.

  3. 3

I was just looking for a way to use my coconut oil! And I LOOOOOVE cinnamon! Brewing some espresso right now! I might try the goo too…but my baby had some very blueberry diaper art this morning, so I may wait for a few days. Hard to shake that image 🙂

  4. 4

hahaha… it does look like poo! I am so making that tonight. I’m sure my in-laws will love that! lol

Gotta say, while I may not like the look of that turd roll, it does sound delicious. I saw Kelly mention something about adding coconut oil to coffee on twitter and I was intrigued. Your drink looks freaking amazing. I must try that stat.

Drink looks delicious, but I have a question. How much brewed espresso and cold water? The cold water threw me. Thanks!

  7. 7

That’s the most delicious-looking turd I’ve ever seen.

Ha ha. I love your creations. I honestly can not believe that it is September 1st tomorrow?! Like what on earth happened to the summer? I am a little excited though because it means its exactly one month until my birthday! Yay!! Okay, that was sad to get that excited over a birthday.
Well, I love my americanos so I’m definitely going to try out this coconut oil technique! Sounds magnificent! You have still got to try mixing your nutritional/brewers yeast with melted coconut oil. I swear its the best “cheesy” sauce ever.
The pumpkin goo looks mighty fine to me, even if it does look a little poo like;)
My goal for September? Stress less! Live in the moment, re-prioritize my mindset, and believe I am worthy of success! Happy long weekend!

Oh yeah everyone was talking about coconut oil in coffee in one of the recent twitter chats. I shall have to try.

I’m thinking of setting a little goal for each day in September, which means I better decide quick–it’ll be here so soon!

I want to try the Goo….but how do you figure out grams!? I don’t own a kitchen scale or anything.

      STUFT Mama says:

Usually a serving is about 25-35 grams per the label and the scoop they give. I just did a little test for you and 1 tablespoon was about 12 grams. So you could do 2-3 tablespoons. Does that help????

I am new to group strength training this year and I totally wish I had started years ago. I think if you have a rotten group dynamic or instructor they will sink, but I wouldn’t replace my current mix. It makes me want to get good enough to instruct myself because I think they can be life changing.

Right now I am trying to slow down and enjoy fall. Last winter was so awful I am actually panicking over winter coming again. It is making me skip fall altogether. I like the idea of some goals. Maybe I will make that a goal today. 🙂

  15. 15

Your goo looks good (though, it does look a little like poo!). I might have to try it tonight! I love the idea putting it on a flatout wrap!

As far as goals go, I have been thinking about making some for September. I want to increase my strength and improve my WOD times.
