A Wrap, Some Labor and Another Handful

A Wrap, Some Labor and Another Handful

Hi! How was your Labor Day? It flew by didn’t it? I guess that’s just like every day though over here. Ha.

I’m always sitting here trying to figure out what to write about with so many stinking thoughts running through my head. Not to mention I have a million other things I really should be doing.

A little look at my Labor Day.

The boys and I were out the door early. I scarfed down my cinnamon sugar breakfast STUFTwich in the car after I dropped the boys off at Grandma D and Papap’s house.

My cinnamon coconut Americano that I made with a new Peet’s coffee sample was along for the ride also.

Gotta love the classy kiddie cup.

I had to teach a Y0X class at the Y for a special Labor Day workout in the morning and then from there I made my way to a different gym to go for a quick little treadmill jog and teach my usual Monday spin class. It was quite the start to my day. And I had quite the Clif Bar variety in my gym bag (or rather in my lap) to choose from for a little on the go snack.

I went with the Chocolate Almond Coconut just in case you’re wondering.

I was tired and starving by the time I was finally making my way to the car after all that workout business.

Luckily the boys were tired enough they decided to nap for me when we got home.

While they napped, I created the biggest veggie Flatout wrap ever. Check it out.

I really have a skill, don’t you think? Holy Batman this was good.

I posted the wrap contents on instagram, but here you go just in case you missed it- green leaf lettuce, spinach, cucumber, tomato, red onion, shredded carrots, pepperoncinis, a jalapeño, Trader Joe’s Everyday Seasoning and some Yum Hum Dressing.

You can safely assume I’ll be eating this again for the next 3-5 days for lunch.

Then I had a little “labor” intensive task on the home front that I’ve been putting off for quite some time.

Don’t be scared of the following pictures.

Why do I show you this stuff? It’s embarrassing.

Instead of getting right to work, I thought I’d snap a few pictures of my sweaty self first.

I still wasn’t ready to face things head on and decided I needed a little pick me before I tackled the mess. I whipped this bad boy up in my Vita. (Don’t mind the bird doody on the railing.)

Mocha Protein Smoothie

1 serving GNC chocolate soy protein powder

1/2 frozen banana

1 CocoaVia unsweetened chocolate packet (or 2 tablespoons my favorite cocoa powder)

sweetener (optional- I added a little sugar free Torani almond syrup)

1 1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk

pinch xanthan gum (optional- for thickening)

pinch guar gum (optional- for thickening)

One more picture of my greasy forehead with my smoothie and I got to work.

I made some progress although I don’t have photographic proof. But… it may be safe to assume if things are really quiet here for the next 24 hours I’ve gotten lost somewhere in the red room (that’s what we call it).

Goodness help me though, this month I AM going to organize that room.

I also AM going to show you this little combination of PB2, coconut flour, vanilla stevia drops, a little brown sugar and some vanilla soymilk on a Vitatop I had for dessert tonight.

It was the most delicious little “frosting”. (Exact measurements: 1 tablespoon coconut flour, 2 tablespoons PB2, 1/2-1 teaspoon brown sugar, 5 drops liquid vanilla stevia, enough soy milk to get desired consistency.)

It went down a little more like this though.

You know, with some “layers” (another Vitatop and some almond coconut ice cream).

Hey, did happen to notice my cool tank top? I thought you did.

I recently got a wonderful package from my favorite Handful bra company.

I’m obviously a huge fan of the original Handful bra (you can read my full review here). I wear mine everywhere and when I’m not wearing one of my special bras, you better believe I’ve got an extra set of Handful bra pads with me. Ha ha.

They just launched some new products that are freaking fabulous.

The Adjustable Handful Bra

The Handful Tank

Both of these new products have the same wonderful design (and pads) as the original bra, but they also have adjustable straps that can be worn regular or crossed in back.

The boys wanted to make sure the got to show their Handful love too (and their dirty faces).

Judah’s big into helping with laundry, so obviously the cute little laundering bags are his favorite. And obviously there was a good reason he’s not wearing pants in this picture.

I haven’t worn my new bras yet, but I wore the gray tank for my most recent “date” with my best friend Bob

and my little shopping excursion afterwards.

I may or may not have also worn it that very next day on the treadmill.

(I am really out to impress today, aren’t I?)

For Labor Day I wore the purple tank and tried to snap a few pictures outside for you all in the wee hours of the morning.

Whoa, maybe a little too close.

That’s a little better even though it looks like I’m about to pop a squat or something. Lovely.

Check out the cool back though. I tried to be fancy and make the straps cross.

Again with the squat. Come on lady. Oh well. The important thing is that I love these tank tops.

You can check out all the fun Handful products here in their Handful online store.

And you can check out this cute video explaining their new products. (No, that is not me.)

Check out the new Handful Adjustable Bras and Tanks.

Um, yeah, in the video they show how you can stack your pads more than one at a time in the bra. Why haven’t I done that yet? I’m on it for next time.

And well, since I’ve got my “hands full” with my little office project for the next few days, I have a little something for you.

See these pads here?

They’re brand new, came in my special package and are up for grabs.

I wish I was a size medium, but I’m not friends. I’m just not.

So I have a pair of medium pads I want to give to one of you.

Just leave me a comment here telling me whatever you want. If you can’t think of anything just tell me what you did over the holiday weekend or where you want to wear these awesome pads.

I’m warning you in advance I may not respond since I have comments and emails from last week I’m still working on. I’ll read (I always do, every single one), but I may not get to write back.

I’ll pick a winner Thursday morning and announce in Thursday’s post.

Feel free to give Handful a little Facebook or Twitter love too if you’re so inclined. Here are the links:

I just LOVE these bras. Seriously, they’ve changed my life and I wear either the bras or pads pretty much on a daily basis.

Okay, I’m off. Have a wonderful day!!!!!

*These new Handful products were sent to me free of charge. I was not compensated for this post. All opinions are my own.

Hi, this past Labor Day weekend I worked a lot at our bar & grill. these Handfuls would be great to wear when I teach my boot camp classes.

    Tess says:

I don’t teach a class but I take alot of them (always appreciate the instructors) and then usually end up running errands afterward. Handfuls would make that public showing alittle more desirable!!!

The tank tops are cute! I can’t believe I’m just now discovering padded sports bras, they are amazing!

I would totally wear my handful sports bra the next day upon arrival. I workout sometimes three times a day, in between teaching and my preparation for the next half marathon. I find myself constantly needing to change lol

OK..Honestly, these bras/tanks look great but is it weird that as you are modeling them I am really just looking at all your muscles and definition in your arms, back and legs and thinking…..THAT IS WHAT I WANT TO LOOK LIKE! Darn you chocolate and lazy fare attitude…..I WILL GET BETTER eventually. 😉

(your hard work and active life definitely shows….)

That Vitamuffin dessert had me drooling with envy on IG last night.

I LOVE my Handful bras! The tank looks like something I need. They never ever fit me right in stores. Did you find it was comfortable in the tummy area? I hate when they are so tight you feel like you have to suck it in for a whole workout.

These would be perfect for the gym! I think these would keep the girls in nicely when performing ‘good mornings’!

For labor day, I ran a 10 mile virtual race. Some ladies in the blog world set it up so we could race ”together”. It was fun reading about everyone’s experience! Those handful pads…um yeah I need those babies! After breastfeeding my kiddos &running so much, my ”girls” could use a little pick me up 😉

I would absolutely love to win this prize. I would be a size medium and I would so appreciate the extra “handful”! 🙂 For Labor Day, I visited my fiance about 100 miles from my house. He is finishing school in his final internship year and I had not seen him in five weeks. We ate sushi; we watched a movie; we visited Trader Joe’s…it’s true love! Thanks for the opportunity. 🙂

Nice work on the product review! You crack me up on your blog, thanks for being so honest & sarcastic, I’m a huge fan of both! Sounds like you had a jam packed holiday weekend!

I love my Handful bra, which I ordered after you blogged about their close out sale. I would love another bra or the tank, but am kinda holding out for them to go on sale for $18 again (I might have to wait forever). I’m a medium, although in the words of Kelly Osborne post weight loss, I like to call them “hanging bags of crap”. After breast feeding two kids and losing weight, there isn’t much to be excited about. This is where the Handfuls come in!!

  19. 19

I’ve been trying to get my hands on some handful for a while. Next time I go to buy another bra I will order one. Your veggie wrap looks amazing. I love colorful food. 🙂

  20. 20

I LOVE handfuls…Lord knows I could use all the help I can get in that arena! I actually broke down and bought a new workout tank top for work this past weekend and it happened to have slots for the handfuls, but no padding…so I grabbed mine and stuffed them in. Worked like a charm! Love them. I love those tank tops! I need to check them out. It looks like they aren’t too huggy in the waist and that’s exactly what I need!

  21. 21

I love handful bras!! I look like a little boy running around without it!

  22. 22

Handful definitely picked the right gal to represent their brand- I bought 3 of their bras last month after seeing them on your blog!
Love the tank too- and it looks great on you!

  23. 23
    Laurel C says:

Handful has tanks now??? Oh my gosh I need one now!! I basically live in my Handful bras (I’m sportin’ the white one right now) and am admittedly obsessed 🙂

In other news, I went to Trader Joe’s yesterday and they were out of my beloved broccoli slaw……as I held back tears in the produce section, I thought of you. I eat at least a bag of my slaw every day, so to say I was upset would be an understatement! They better be getting it back soon!! lol

  24. 24

I’m not a Handful wearer but I would love to be. I definitely need a little help in that area and would love to have these to help me not look like a 13 year old boy in my workout clothes!

  25. 25

I’ve never heard of Handful before but I’m really intrigued. I am excited to try one of their bras or tanks! Thanks for posting about them!
