I’m so excited to announce that this fall we’ll be partnering with our favorite company GNC.
I’ve always been a fan of GNC and their approach to healthy living. Yes, even in high school I would shop at the local GNC (conveniently located in the nearby mall) for vitamins. To say that I’m thrilled about this partnership through FitFluential would be a bit of an understatement.
For the remainder of the year I’ll be featuring GNC inspired recipes, product reviews and workouts. (Yeah, so pretty much the rest of this year is going to be AWESOME.)
Back in July we were sent a wonderful package of GNC goodies and have gone through them pretty darn quickly.
The thing I’m missing the most is this bad boy.
I thought it would be difficult to survive without it, but I’ve been making up for it with the GNC chocolate soy protein powder instead. Phew.
To kick things off I thought I’d share my newest protein goo (or protein cookie dough) obsession in one easy recipe. I know you’ve seen it before as I’ve been making different versions of it on a daily basis, but I thought I would give you just a basic recipe to tweak any way you’d like. It’s easy, delicious and packed with good for you protein.
STUFT GNC Protein Goo
1/4- 1/2 cup canned pumpkin (or mashed banana or applesauce)
1/2-1 tablespoon (7-15 grams) chia seed
1 serving (35 grams) GNC protein powder of your choice (I like vanilla or chocolate flavors the best)
optional add-ins: nut butter of choice, vanilla or almond extract, dark chocolate cocoa powder, pumpkin pie seasoning, cinnamon, etc.
Mix ingredients together. Cover and chill in refrigerator.
That’s it friends. I usually just throw together the three main ingredients. I’ve found that the GNC line of protein powders have enough flavor to hold their own without any additional flavors or sweeteners.
This goo can be used in a wrap
and/or with some Flatout cinnamon crisps and peanut butter
or eaten with a spoon (not pictured) in a Flatout cinnamon crisp bowl.
The possibilities are endless.
I like to change it up every day depending on my mood. Ha ha.
Oh man, must be my new Vitapak vitamins.
Speaking of vitamins, let’s talk supplements next. I’ve always been big on taking multivitamins every day. For the past five years or so I’ve been taking a multi-vitamin and fish oil every morning.
I recently received these GNC Women’s Ultra Mega™ Wellness Vitapak® vitamins.
It took me awhile to choose the Vitapak that I thought would be the right fit for my lifestyle. They have a lot of different options (you can see them all here). I went with the wellness one because of the digestive enzymes, extra calcium and vitamin D, fish oil and mood support (goodness knows I need that these days- ha). I wanted to make sure I got one that had the extra calcium because of the amount of training I do and since I’ve been limiting dairy in my diet.
They come in a convenient little package which makes it easy to remember to take each morning. I really like that GNC has taken the work out of it for me to make sure I’m getting all the different supplements I need in one daily pack. The less thinking on my part the better.
Now I don’t have to get my whole week of vitamins ready in my pill box anymore. One less thing to do.
I just started taking these Monday, so I’ll be sure to check in over the next month on how I’m doing with them, but so far I’m loving them.
Since we all “Live Well” as a family, the boys take their Yummi Bears multi-vitamins everyday also.
They’re currently taking the Wholefood and Antioxidants ones. I try to get them to take the fish oil, but to be honest some days I’m not as successful as others.
Something else new this week-
STUFT Daddy and I both trying out probiotics for the first time. I’ve been wanting to incorporate them into our diet for awhile. I’ve heard so many great things about the benefits and GNC has a new line of all different varieties of probiotics.
Here are the two we’re starting with for our new probiotic venture.
I put STUFT Daddy on the Ultra 75 and I’m taking the Ultra 50. We’ll see if we notice any changes. I asked the wonderful people over at GNC if there was a better time of day to take probiotics. They informed me that there wasn’t any research that suggests a better time of day to take them so we’re taking them at night. They also informed me that probiotics are awesome for immune protection. I didn’t know that, but sure am excited.
Okay, so now onto the first workout of our fall #livewellnow GNC series. Try to hold back your excitement. Ha ha.
Here’s how we set up for our big debut.
Someday hopefully we’ll have a better set up. Ha.
This is a great 8 minute high intensity body weight training workout. These type of workouts are my favorite to squeeze into a hectic day because they get your heart rate up quickly. You get the cardiovascular benefits and the lower body toning at the same time with the body weight training. It’s better to do these workouts for a longer period of time, so feel free to go through the circuit a good two or three times.
Here’s the full workout for you to do with us. Yes, us. The boys help out as usual and might I just add that Joaquin does the touch down jacks pretty darn well. I can’t help but laugh when I watch him.
You don’t need any equipment. Just 10 minutes or so and desire to watch some toddlers run around while you’re legs are burning a little and you’re sucking wind. (Just kidding.)
Joaquin has some moves.
We only had one mine technical difficulty.
I make it almost the whole workout before I get sprayed with a squirt bottle.
I really should stop wearing short shorts when I make these videos.
Here is a printable version of the workout just in case you’d rather do it on your own instead of with us. I understand completely. Ha.
Okay friends, thanks so much for letting me blab on and on about my new partnership. (I guess my blabbing is pretty much the norm though.) I’m just so excited about this campaign.
We’re off. I hope to catch up with all of you in the next few days! I’m a little behind on emails and comments.
We’ve got a busy day today and we even have a wedding rehearsal dinner tonight. I need to try to look halfway decent for it and I’m guessing I can’t pull off my “I’m sweaty and wearing workout clothes because I just taught a class” excuse. Ha ha.
I’ll be back soon with some STUFT nonsense, running talk, a pizza recipe and a really great giveaway! Woo hoo!
*As with any exercise program, consult your physician before starting a new workout routine.
*FitFluential LLC compensated me for this Campaign. All opinions are my own.
