More Exciting Stuff- Shopping, Running News and a Giveaway

Happy Monday friends! This is going to be short because I’ve declared it an official three day STUFT weekend over here. I need just one more day to get my head in the game and by golly I’m going to take it today. Feel free to do the same. Then I won’t feel like I’m missing out on anything.

I was down for the count last night about 8:45. My body was done. I don’t blame it. It was the end of a very long weekend including a wedding, teaching boot camp, a fitness conference, church, a family trip to Trader Joe’s and an 18+ miler yesterday (10 miles of which were with that darn heavy double stroller). I crawled into bed without dessert (gasp). Oh sleep, how it makes such a difference.

So… this morning I’m playing catch up and scrambling a bit after such a fun, busy weekend.

And of course today started a bit like this.

I was in the bathroom with Judah and I yelled “Joaquin, what are you doing?”

His reply was “I’m not doing anything.”

I should’ve known.

Oh well, it could’ve been worse and it gave me just one more reason to make my iced perfect summer mocha just a little bit stronger. Ha ha.

A couple side notes:

– I got STUFT Daddy that iced coffee drink (in the above picture) from Costco on our last trip. His review is that it’s “alright”. He said it’s a little too sweet and not to buy it again.

– To be totally honest I have not been doing the best job at my new outlook I wrote about last week and giving up artificial sweeteners. I’m making baby steps though. It’s a new week and each little change makes a difference. Right?

– Siri really chaps my hide sometimes.

I can’t tell you how many times I heard her say that this past weekend. She is not on my good side right now.

Saturday night after church I talked STUFT Daddy into taking a family trip to Trader Joe’s to stock up on some broccoli slaw and some other necessities.

Yeah, that’s right, they had one measly bag left. Figures.

Luckily I saw these ginormous Brussel Sprout stalks soon after and felt better.

We all felt better actually.

It was a successful trip. The most expensive item we bought was a $6.99 bottle of wine. STUFT Daddy and I are big spenders. And the boys are big “helpers”.

We celebrated with some gourmet pizzas and wine at home.

That roasted vegetable pizza is pretty darn good for a non dairy frozen pizza. I even took another picture of it for you (before I added crushed red pepper, Cholula and nutritional yeast).

This week might have a bit more running chat coming up than usual. I went to a great running seminar on Saturday at my Fitness Palooza conference and learned quite a bit I want to share. I also have some things to give away and have some really big events creeping up over here. Eeeekkkk!

To say that I’m excited about my upcoming events would be an understatement. First of all, I’m so excited about the big Runner’s World weekend event (and really want some of you to come too because I’m nervous so go here to register and use the code BLOGGER37 for 10% any race). See you there, yes? Feel free to tell your friends about it too!

He he.

And…… I can finally share with you some other big race news. Through FitFluential I get to run the Nike Women’s Marathon in just 4 short weeks up in San Francisco. Holy smokes. That is the reason for my long run yesterday. I would not have chosen to run 18 miles on a normal weekend. I’m not that crazy.

I’m excited, nervous and need to get my head in the game. I never really follow training plans because my life is so hectic, but I do have some guidelines I follow leading up to a big race. I was asked recently about my training and will talk about what I do later this week.

For now though, I’ve got to go because I have some cute toddlers that want to “help” scramble some real eggs, some more huge jugs of egg whites I need to order for myself, some clean laundry that needs to be put away after sitting in the laundry basket for more than just a couple days and a spin class I need to get ready for. I need some new music on my spin playlist in the worst way.

Don’t worry, I’m not going to leave you hanging though.

Since we’re getting ready for some big running events over here I thought I’d show you this cool shirt I designed on My Race Ragz.

This website is awesome. You can custom design any shirt you want. They have all different styles to choose from. You can upload your own images or choose from any of their 700+ custom designs they already have on their website. I tried to put a Flat Kitty on my shirt, but my image was too small so it wouldn’t work well. Bummer because that would’ve been so stinking awesome.

I went with the FitFluential logo since I’ve been given some amazing partnerships through being a FitFluential Ambassador and my two big upcoming race events are through them.

Check out the back of the shirt.

Cool huh? I’m chasing my dreams alright.

So…… here’s the fun part.

One lucky winner will get to design his or her own shirt on My Race Ragz.

How cool is that?

All you have to do to enter is leave me a comment here and tell me what you’d put on your shirt or tell me something fun you did this weekend.

Feel free to connect with our generous friends at My Race Ragz at any or all of their social media hot spots and to tweet about this giveaway for an additional entry. Just make sure to mention @myraceragz and @stuftmama in the tweet and leave an additional comment.

Congrats on getting to run the Nike Women’s marathon! You will ROCK it! Love the shirt. I’m definitely going to check out the website. Since you put me on the spot and I can’t think of what my shirt would say, I’ll tell you something fun from this weekend. Mother/daughter mani/pedi day!

I have a question for you. As a cheese lover, I feel guilty every time I read you say you’ve eaten something sans dairy:) I’m curious, what’s your reason for going cheese-less? Thanks so much!

      STUFT Mama says:

Lindsey- I actually had some serious tummy troubles earlier in the year and was told by my doctor to give up dairy for awhile. As it turns out, it has made the hugest difference with some digestive issues I’ve had for years. I still have it here and there, but try to stay away from cheeses. Some of my favorite recipes are my older ones though that have dairy. 🙂

LOVE the shirt & can’t wait to hear the scoop on Nike training! It’s going to be my first full and I just did my 20mile run last night. Coming of a calf strain, so I’ll need all the good advice you’ve got to dish out!

I’d probably go with “Make the impossible possible” since that’s on the bracelet I’ve been staring at for the last few weeks of my runs. Or 26.2 No Excuses

  13. 13
    Christy Diller says:

Not sure off hand what I would put on there…probably something like “Running = Free Therapy”!!

I would want a cool motivational quote. Maybe one about running….or one about my curves.

  21. 21

I’d love to create a shirt that says “Wanna race?” It’s been my favorite thing to say to fellow runners as I’ve been going crazy signing up for races. Look out for more Twitter and Instagram pictures of microwave muffins and goo! 🙂

I LOVE mine and was wondering if you wear them

As a mom of 4 kiddos (and my youngest are twin BOYS!) I would have “A running momma is a happy momma” on the front and “miles and miles of peace and quiet” on the back. Maybe the racer tank in a lime green or aqua so the cherubs could spot me easily!! ha!

First of all, I love your blog. I’m not sure how I stumbled upon it, but I find it highly entertaining and so so informative. I also have twins. They are 27 months. I’m guessing your boys are close to their age. I found your post about your love for Costco hilarious. I have the exact same passion for that place as you do. I can’t get out the door with out a nonfat swirl yogurt in my hand. It’s a real addiction. I actually look for reasons to go just so I can get the yogurt. I too, love to eat healthy and exercise. I’m always looking for new creative and healthy recipes and fun workout ideas. I’m sure you’ll be hearing more of me as I am now following your awesome blog:-)

  53. 53

  70. 70

Love it! This weekend I ran my second half marathon, which was amazing fun! My third is in just under three weeks and I’d love to have a specially designed t-shirt for my blog that says, “Fight For It!” on the front, which is my motto for healthy living.

I definitely want to get 13.1 on the back for my first half in October!!

  73. 73

I just bought that pizza last time I was at TJ’s. I’m pretty pumped about it.

    Jessica Jones says:

Oh my goodness maybe I will see you at the Nike marathon!!!
