Too Much Pre Race Excitement to Write About

Too Much Pre Race Excitement to Write About

Okay, so I really want to write about everything that’s been going on here, but I just spent the past 30 minutes deleting old pictures from my phone so I’ll have room to take some tomorrow at the races. Nice.

I found a treadmill yesterday to run a quick 7 miles at the hotel gym.

Good thing I had my sunglasses for an inside run. Duh.

When I got back to the room there was another bag of race goodies. This one was from Runner’s World.

I know, good stuff right?

Oh my goodness, really, it has been non stop fun here in Pennsylvania. Runner’s World, Altra and ICON Fitness have been doing some amazing things for all of the FitFluential running bloggers. Seriously amazing. I can’t even begin to do it justice right now at 10:00 pm, especially since I’m still recovering from my red eye flight. Not to mention I have a 5K and 10K tomorrow and then a half marathon Sunday. What the heck am I thinking?

We had a BBQ at the Runner’s World Headquarters Thursday night. It was so awesome to see where everything happens, meet Bart Yasso and the editors

and finally meet some of the amazing blogging friends I’ve made.

We even got a behind the scenes tour from Bart Yasso himself.

Yep. That’s right.

This morning I was up at 6:15 am (3:15 am my time) and as things tend to happen for me I didn’t make the shuttle because it was full and I was 2 minutes late. Figures.

Thank goodness the amazing David from Runner’s World came and got me. Talk about service. I wasn’t about to try to make my way there on foot.

It was a tad rainy out.

I made it just in time though to meet up with the FitFluential gang and go for a little run with my man Bart. A little run in the rain with new friends and some awesome scenery. I’ll take it.

Dang I’m good at action shots, yes? That’s Elizabeth and Bart Yasso. We run together like all the time.

I want to recap the whole run, but seriously, I have a huge headache and when I write it I want to make sure not to leave anyone out. That’s just not right.

Here’s our group shot at the end of the run though.

Do you see that thing behind us? That’s going to have flames tomorrow for the finish line. Coolio.

The rest of the day was filled with some great presentations, good food, some new fun clothes, a meet and greet with Shalane Flanagan

and an awesome expo.

A huge thank you to my new best friend Michelle who carted me around and dealt with my crazies tonight.

She’s running the 10K tomorrow and just had baby Ryan 4 weeks ago. Yeah, she’s amazing.

We had a brilliant idea to take it easy tonight and come back to the hotel and order food so we could both relax in our own room and try to get some rest.

Our plan backfired and after waiting for our food for what was almost 2 hours (long story), going down to the lobby in my pajamas to pick it up, I finally just grubbed down in bed while watching the Jersey Shore.

On the menu:

Salad with chicken.

Thin whole wheat crust veggie pizza.

Fun toppings I brought from home that were generously added on the top.

I’m a loser.

All the cool people went out to eat and I’m sure had 100% more fun, but holy cow, I was just too exhausted.

Okay, more recap action coming at you tomorrow along with some race chat as I’m hopefully running two short ones.

Have a good one!

Oh, and yeah, I brought three pairs of Mizuno shoes with me. Nice, huh?

how funny is the placement of the arrow in this picture?

Just lovely.

Oh and totally forgot to mention that while I’m away, Judah had his first trip to the Urgent Care today and got a staple in his head.

Again, lovely.
