It just might be today. Maybe. Only if Judah finally decides to take a nap. Seriously, it’s like clockwork that when I leave the room and think I’ll get an hour of piece and quiet, this guy conveniently needs to use the bathroom for the third time.
Wait. It’s quiet. YES!!!!!
*edit- Never mind. He said he couldn’t sleep and is now “coloring” right beside me.
We did some damage at Souplantation last night. Yes we did.
I kid you not the guy behind me in line was whispering to his friend about the size of my salad. I have no idea why.
Ha ha ha.
And yes, I’m totally that girl that brings my own nutritional yeast, Cholula, hot seasoning and dressing to Souplantation. I’m just not a big fan of their dressings. The huge chunks of chicken in their soup, on the other hand, are fabulous.
This morning I put together this little egg bake concoction before boot camp.
In the bowl:
3/4 cup egg whites
handful fresh spinach
Fuji apple, sliced
I mixed everything together and put it in a ramekin sprayed with nonstick spray and cooked it in the toaster over at 375 convection for I’m guessing 15-20 minutes or so.
Then I topped it with coconut oil and dug in.
Um, yum. It was so easy and the perfect little protein snack.
So I got some new Reebok gear the other day in the mail.
How cute are these new RealFlex Fusion TR?
These shoes are great for cross training. I wear my other Reebok RealFlex Fusion shoes all the time to teach classes (BOSU, HIIT, step, strength training, etc.). I think it’s important to wear sport specific shoes depending on the activity you’re doing. I tell my classes that all the time.
If you’re doing high intensity activities with lateral movement, then you need a shoe that supports that side to side motion. Running shoes are great for running, but it’s best to have a good pair of cross trainers for other indoor activities and training.
Here’s a little video on the RealFlex TR technology. Pretty darn cool.
Well, I am one lucky duck and got a cute little jacket to match the shoes.
Naturally, I could only wait about 24 hours before having to test out my new gear. I wore them to teach boot camp this morning.
You know, trying to impress my friends.
Well, that’s a little better I guess. I’m such a dork.
The jacket is super comfortable and I love that it has the little thumb holes.
What did we ever do without those?
Here’s a closer look at the back.
And a closer look at the fun shoes.
Well, my new outfit must have impressed enough because one of my new boot camp ladies, Mandy, (who rocked it by the way this morning), was nice enough to give me this amazing container of Vega One.
I decided against running and wrapping my arms around her since I want her to come back to boot camp and all, but I was so darn excited. It was like Christmas. I see some pumpkin protein cookie dough in my near future friends. Mmm……
Since I was on a roll and still wanted to show off my new outfit, I wore it to Starbucks for my first red cup beverage of the holiday season.
Isn’t that first holiday drink just the best? Today’s order was a venti Americano with one Splenda and a little steamed soy just in case you care.
I went solo to pick up my race number for tomorrow and since you conveniently have to walk through the Road Runner Sports store afterwards to exit, I got a little side tracked.
As a VIP and a race participant I got 20% off any purchase today. Fine. Twist my arm. I picked up a pair of Reebok CrossFit shorts.
Oh hey, taking pictures of yourself in the mirror doesn’t work too well.
I tried to get a good shot of them for you.
Here’s the link to the shorts- CrossFit Chase Short 2.
Oh and I saw this the other day on instagram.
“My boyfriend” Bob designed his own Reebok Nanos.
Oh wait, that’s right. Yours truly gave him that card. Remember my last visit to LA?
I had to ask him about it of course.
Aww….. I miss him.
Speaking of my best friend Bob, we took the BOB into the “stroller doctor” (bike shop) today for a little “check up” just in case the mood strikes tomorrow to run with the boys in the stroller. We’ll see how the morning turns out.
I’m fueling up though just in case. I just consumed an entire kabocha squash roasted with cinnamon, Trader Joe’s pumpkin pie spice and my favorite cocoa powder topped with GNC ice cream dream protein frosting, chia, PB2, peanut butter and two ingredient dark chocolate frosting.
Hmm….. maybe not the best idea the day before a race. Oh well. I’m sure the loads of crushed red pepper I’m going to consume tonight won’t be either. Ha ha.
How’s your Saturday?
Do you get inspired to work out with new gear/clothes?
Have you had your a red cup Starbucks drink yet?
*I received the shoes and jacket from Reebok. I was not compensated for this post. All opinions are my own, as well as the decision to buy the shorts with my race discount. Oops, I better explain that to STUFT Daddy.
