Hey hey! How was your weekend?
I actually got to have a girl’s overnight Saturday night in Santa Monica with some of my best friends from college. Oh man, it was awesome. You know that girl time when you just get to catch up and drink wine and relax? It was perfect. So perfect in fact that I didn’t subject any of them to my annoying picture taking. I’m so thoughtful sometimes. Ha ha.
I know I’ve talked about Lorna Jane before, my Pretty Woman experience at the store and the whole Move Nourish Believe Movement. Well, I got to relive it a little this past weekend while I was away and oh man, it was like a little early Christmas.
So, in honor of the beautiful Lorna herself, we’re going with her motto for this post:
Move Your Body. Nourish From The Inside Out. Believe Anything Is Possible.
Taught boot camp and ran 3 easy miles in the park immediately following to shake out the legs a little bit.
Sunday- Ran 11 slow miles while in Santa Monica.
I love being able to run and explore anywhere and everywhere. No matter where I’m going I make sure to have my Mizuno running shoes and running clothes with me.
Yesterday since I was with my girlfriends and didn’t have the boys, it was the perfect opportunity to just run by myself outside in new surroundings. There was so much to see. I found myself at the Santa Monica Pier and then in Venice Beach.
It was just awesome.
Here’s a few pictures.
I feel like I nourished a lot this past weekend. I nourished my friendships by spending quality time with my best friends which I rarely get to do, especially in this fast paced world these days.
I nourished my body with some delicious food, good wine and fabulous homemade cookies and homemade Butterfinger bars. (Yeah, Deena, I’m talking about your goodies that you might have to share on here.)
I also went a little beyond nourishing just the inside when I stepped foot in the Lorna Jane store in Santa Monica again.
The store was just how I remembered it.
It was filled with so many inspiring sayings. As a woman you feel empowered to dress the part, be inspirational, dream big and get out there and want to move.
I’m not really a shopper friends (well, I guess I am if online shopping or countless Target and Costco trips count), but you let me loose in a store like this and it’s trouble.
I found just a few things to try on.
Some of my favorites:
Lovely. Don’t mind the tag hanging from my tush.
(Mom- this picture was all Sasha’s idea and she takes full blame of it being too risqué. Right Sash?)
Oh and yes, gotta love anything with those key thumb holes. I mean, those are a must in the California winter temperatures. He he.
A huge thank you to Gina who helped me and put up with all my craziness and made sure I went into the right dressing room.
And a huge thank you to my best friend Sasha who put up with me also and took a bazillion pictures.
I fell in love with this saying that was in my room.
I also fell in love with this Kiri Long Sleeved Top.
Then as soon as I thought I was in the clear, I fell in love with these Flashdance Pants.
These pants are nicknamed “Flashies” and “travel pants” because they’ve been everywhere. They’re comfortable and easy to wear out and about, on the road and for travel. In Australia they sell a pair of these special pants every 37 seconds.
I made my best friend Deena wait so long that she just happen to find the perfect Secret Socks.
She knows her stuff friends. She’s pretty much the most stylish person I know and if she lived closer I would make her pick out my daily outfits for me. She loved these socks because they fit perfectly with her cute stylish booties and didn’t slip. She bought 2 pairs.
I probably should’ve bought them for her for letting us all stay with her now that I think about it. Oops.
When I got home yesterday I decided we’d have a family decorating party and frozen Trader Joe’s pizzas for dinner instead of cooking. I was so excited for everyone to help decorate and in my head they were just as excited as I was.
these guys we’re as into it as I thought. They were not about to “move” for me.
Joaquin humored me and pretended to help for about 2 minutes.
Oh hey, don’t mind him. He’s still working on the whole potty training thing and sometimes it’s just easier to not bother with pants.
Speaking of pants, I sported my new Flashdance Pants for the occasion.
Lovely shot, yes?
after all the decorating excitement
I finished the night with this new variation of the high protein dark chocolate muffin.
Obviously I topped it with some melted dark chocolate and some creamy dreamy ice cream.
Obviously I’m giving you the exact recipe since you NEED to make it as soon as possible.
New and Improved Dark Chocolate Microwave Muffin
1/4 cup pumpkin
1/2 cup egg whites (or egg substitute)
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons coconut flour
2 tablespoons dark cocoa powder
2 sweetener packets (I used Stevia)
splash of almond extract
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Mix everything together. Pour in a mug sprayed with cooking spray. Microwave for about 5 minutes.
I BELIEVE that I will be having this just a few more times this month.
I also BELIEVE I have a really awesome week long holiday giveaway coming up with some of my favorite things to giveaway each day.
Can’t wait to share!
All you have to do is leave a comment on this post.
