We have a new rule around here to not let the boys come in bed with us at all.
This is what happened yesterday morning about 30 seconds after STUFT Daddy left the house to go to work.
Hmmm… let’s not tell him.
I did manage to get an extra hour of sleep though so breaking the rules was worth it in my book.
Oops. Wait. Too late. It just happened again this morning while STUFT Daddy was home. I think he may have figured it out.
Yesterday we also showed up to the gym like this.
Joaquin didn’t want to be in the picture. What a weirdo. I mean, who would rather watch kids play basketball instead of have their picture taken at the entrance of the gym?
Yeah, like my outfit? Those UGGS are from high school. The sole on one of them has been glued on more than once.
Breaking the rules of acceptable fashion.
For good reason though.
It was cold and rainy and I didn’t want to get my new shoes dirty.
Oh hey, why not take another picture in the play care room?
I’m 99% sure the people at this particular gym where I work talk about me behind my back. Ha ha.
So yeah, I’m loving my new Mizuno shoes. Loving them. So much so that I didn’t even want to chance getting them dirty in the rain.
I did this.
Aren’t the new Wave Inspire 9’s so cute by the way? Oh and they’re so darn comfortable. They may be my new favorite of all the shoes I have. A full review is in the works because I’m tying it into another little giveaway. You just might need these. Hint hint.
Anyway, since I feel like we bonded, I planned my treadmill time so I could hang out with my friends again.
According to my plan from my coach I was supposed to run 5 miles with some strides at the end. After a little warm up I ran the 5 miles at a 7:30 pace instead of my usual jog. My sweet friend Janae is a machine on the treadmill. I adore her and I want to be speedy like her, so I tried to step it up.
I usually go super slow and don’t pay attention to my pace if I just need a certain number of miles. It felt good to make myself work harder. Well, until later last night when I had to teach some classes and was a little tired. Oops.
I taught a 40 minute HIIT class and a groups strength training class. We did this tricep dip move on the ground.
I had to pick up Kitty’s new Christmas picture from Costco so I decided to make a quick trip with the boys.
In the rain.
After the gym.
There should be a rule about not shopping at Costco when it’s raining.
We survived though and got our usual necessities: my favorite bread, bananas, spinach, sweet kale salad and a rotisserie chicken. Judah even reminded me that I forgot to get my favorite wine once we were at the checkout. I’m sure that sounded great to anyone listening to the conversation. Ha.
Okay, enough chat.
Here’s the link.
Oh and Flat Kitty. He he.
Okay, really. Here we go.
The new thing I’ve been making every day is this peanutty chia pumpkin dip.
Peanutty Chia Pumpkin Dip
1/4 cup canned pumpkin
1 tablespoon chia
2 tablespoon PB2
1- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar substitute or regular sugar
splash vanilla (optional)
pinch of baking powder (optional)
It’s so easy and delicious. It can be used as a dip, a frosting or just eaten with a spoon. I make it for the boys with regular sugar and they eat it right out of the bowl.
I like to put it on some roasted kabocha squash.
Along with other things of course.
So what’s in it for you?
These amazing chia shots I first discovered at the San Francisco Marathon
are just darn fabulous.
I carry them with me everywhere.
This 100 count box of them has a lucky winner’s name all over it.
So awesome, right?
Here’s one to try out if you want.
Okay, so to enter to win a box of 100 chia shots,
leave me a comment telling me your favorite way to use chia (if you use it).
if you’ve sent out your holiday cards or started your shopping yet.
(I haven’t done either.)
Giveaway will be open until Sunday night 11 pm PST.
Email me your size, color preference and address and I’ll send it along. Check out all your choices here.
See you later! If things are quiet over here this weekend, my Christmas cards just might get out on time. Ha ha!
Have a good one!
