Workouts yesterday:
Taught a spin class midday
Taught a HIIT and step class at the Y (yeah, we still do step aerobics and we love it)
Ran 4 slow miles on the treadmill
Ran through Costco pushing a heavy cart at closing time.
So…. yeah, I had the chance to go to Costco by myself last night so I took it. A little too close to closing time though. I thought I could do it quickly. I couldn’t. If anyone can do a Costco trip quickly (and for less than $150) I really want to know the secret.
After what felt like just a few minutes a nice lady hunted me down while I was in the refrigerated section and said, “Excuse me, you know we’re closed, right?”
My reply, “You are?”
They escorted me to the front while talking to each other on the walkie talkies. “We’ve got one more customer back here.”
Oops.
Even while being shooed to the front I tried to grab some Fuji apples, only to have to make then reimburse me at the door because they were moldy. I’m sure they love me there.
And Beavis, I forgot STUFT Daddy’s beer.
At least I got the things we really needed.
Ha ha.
Last night, as a result of my friend Carlyn’s twitter question, I made the grain free microwave pizza crust without the almond flour and subbed in extra coconut flour instead. I went back and added the edit to the recipe. It still came out marvelously.
It didn’t even fall apart this time when transferring it to the cookie sheet.
I ate it with loads of roasted kale salad since we have just a few bags of that in the house now.
I didn’t get to watch the whole episode of The Biggest Loser. I watched about the first 15 minutes or so. My boyfriend Bob hasn’t sported the Pro Compression socks I gave him during this visit yet. He must be saving them for a special occasion or something. Understandable, they’re pretty darn amazing.

I was so excited yesterday because we had some Hot Oats in the house.
Unfortunately, my first experience looked a little like this.
Hot messes in the microwave happen a lot around here.
I was not going to let a little spill get in the way of enjoying these amazing oats though. I salvaged what I could.

I enjoy many flavor combos, but you can never beat classic oatmeal mixed with plenty and cinnamon and a sprinkling of raisins!
My favorite way to eat oatmeal has been overnight oat-style with almond milk, hemp-seed, chia seeds, and a dash of cinnamon. Delicious! One of these days I am going to try making a batch of oatmeal in the slow cooker (overnight).

YUUUUM! I come in early to work, like I’m out the door at 4:45 so I need a breakfast that is easy to eat in between the morning craziness. A lot of the oatmeal ready to eat options are not so healthy. This looks amazing and like it would make my morning a lot easier! I throw in some chia seeds and lots of fruit and I am a happy camper.

My favorite way to eat oatmeal is with cinnamon, sugar and a sliced up banana!
As a runner myself, my favorite way to have oatmeal along with some sweetness is to mix a 1/4 cup serving of Quaker rolled oats with either 3T cornmeal or instant polenta or 1 packet of cinnabon (any flavor works really) cream of wheat and 1T dark chocolate cocoa powder. When I need a little protein I mix 1/4 cup rolled oats with 1/2 cup egg whites and typically throw in some raisins and peanut butter puffins if I have them on hand. The hot oats look amazing though and I would love to try them!

Favorite way to eat oatmeal with with cranberries and a little cinnamon.
I have sugar plum spice tea by celestial from last year, and I love tea, but for some reason I just can’t drink it alone. So I came up with an oatmeal recipe. I combine my oats and the tea leaves with a cup of water and 1/4-1/2 c almond milk and microwave for 3 minutes, then I add either a 1/2 mashed banana or 1/4 c canned pumpkin microwave it for another minute. Then, if I used the banana variation, I use the other half of banana and slice it up and add nuts. Or, if I used pumpkin, I’ll top it with pomegranate and nuts.
I need some of that oatmeal in my life! I really like chilled overnight oats (w/almond milk, pb, biscoff, a little bit of greeek yogurt, chia seeds and 1/2 a chopped apple) but since it has been 7 degrees or less in the mornings here, I think that having my oatmeal warm sounds heavenly. Plus, since it is Love Grown, I know it would be as delicious as it looks!
I am glad you didn’t make it home before you noticed the moldy apples. That would have been tragic!

I love my oats…….I eat oatmeal everyday and I prepare my old fashioned oatmeal with twice the liquid. I use 2 cups of almond milk (vanilla unseweetened) to half a cup of oats, dash of vanilla extract, diced up fruit and cinnamon. Sturdier fruit like apples and pears I chop up and cook with the oatmeal from the beginning. I also love roasted butternut squash or roasted sweet potatoes with my oatmeal instead of fruit but ALWAYS prepared with the almond milk.
I can’t even start to express how badly I want to try these oats!! I love oatmeal. And I totally have over flowed and just scooped it back in. If no one saw it, it didn’t happen right?

I love doing overnight oats by throwing 2 sliced apples, 1/3 cup brown sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon in the bottom of the crock pot. Then I pour 2 cups of oatmeal and 4 cups of water on top. Do NOT stir. Just cook overnight for 8 – 9 hours on low. In the morning, nom, nom, nom.

I am a creature of habit! I eat oatmeal EVERY day in the winter and every other day in the summer. I am obsessed with oatmeal and have eaten it every day for the last 3 years ( no lie!). My go-to method is in the microwave with almond milk, cinnamon, pumpkin and topped with fruit and peanut butter. Mmmmmm never gets old! Stovetop oats: 1/4 cup rolled oats + 2 TBS. oat bran + pinch of salt + raisins or dried currant = perfection!!

Instant oatmeal is good in a pinch but I like to cook mine on the stove with almond or soy milk instead of water and some add ins like raisins, pecans, chopped apple and a dash of cinnamon and maple syrup for a sweetener! yum!
My {current} favorite is cooked stove top, with sugar free syrup mixed in! Oh and topped with some crunchy nuts!!

I like oats and oat bran, mix with water, dash salt, cook in micro, then add stevia, cinnamon and almond milk.
My favorite way to enjoy oatmeal is making overnight oats mixed with vanilla or chocolate protein powder, frozen mixed fruit, stevia, and peanut flour. So creamy and delicious. Sometimes I’ll stir in egg whites, spread flat on a cookie sheet and bake into crisps for an awesome snack!

My favorite way to eat oatmeal is with ground flax seed, peaches and greek yogurt. So thick and creamy.
