Buzz Lightyear Juice, Now I Want Oats and the LOVE Winner


Morning workout:

6.5 mile treadmill run- A mile warm up and then 5 mile repeats. Quite a long rest before the last mile. He he. I almost talked myself out of it, but I went for it and heck, it wasn’t THAT bad.


Or was it? Ugh. Hey, what do you know, I remembered my cool headphones this time.

Shoes of the day were the new Elixir 8s.


This morning instead of going for my usual dark chocolate peppermint mocha, I went for a green drink and told myself I could have coffee after the workout. How’s that for a little self bribery.


In the mix was a handful of spinach plus a little GNC Pro Sculpt, a tablespoon apple cider vinegar, liquid stevia, cinnamon, a couple drops of lemon juice, 1/2 CocoaVia Summer citrus packet, water and ice. Random, yet tasty.


I’ve realized lately that I’ve gotten lazy about getting the boys their vegetables. I used to be so good at making them smoothies, gourmet green pancakes and green eggs and oats, etc.

Well, life got a little more hectic and I got a little lazier in the kitchen with my family meal planning.

Last night at dinner Joaquin told me that he didn’t like vegetables. yeah, not only did he have me scrubbing the carpet all morning yesterday, but he almost caused a a little mama freak out with that comment.

So, looks like I’ve got a little something else to work on in 2013. Dang the list keeps getting longer. Ha ha.

I tried this morning to get them excited over a little green juice with me.


We even had a special name for it.


 Buzz Lightyear Juice

handful spinach

1-2 mandarin oranges

1 scoop GNC Whole Foods Blend 

1 teaspoon agave

1 cup water



Well, even though I told them it would help them with their lasers (you know like Buzz- he has a laser and he WILL use it so says our special toy arm), it might just take a little more convincing. They drank some of it, but I really need to get them used to their greens again.



after reading all your ways you like to eat oats I’ve had oats on the brain. So much so that I made up a winner of a snack for myself and forgot to announce the Hot Oats giveaway winner for you. Oopsies.

Here’s my snack I made. So many of you said you love overnight oats and I hadn’t made them forever so it was time.


, I took one of my trusty little Hot Oats cups (I’m down to one by the way) and added a little extra almond milk, let it sit in the fridge for awhile and turned it into some cold oats.

Then I topped it with some peanutty chia pumpkin dip (here’s our video of how we make it), some protein frosting and some trail mix from Trader Joe’s.

Um, yeah. It was good. It is also your fault that now I want it again.

    I got a cold on Christmas and after having to call in for work I started making a green smoothie every day till I got over it, I like to mix frozen strawberries, half a banana, spinach, orange juice and a little almond/coconut milk. Yum!

    Are you kidding I bribe myself all the time!!!

    Love green juice…as much as I have tried though I am the ONLY ONE who will drink the stuff….your boys are still young so you have time to convert their taste buds before its too late. 😉

    Also, love the last picture of the kitty love hug…my boy does the same thing and I now know why the animals run from him! ha!

    I’m off of coffee again and have replaced with a green smoothie in the morning. A little more substantial than juice but all the goodness. I’ve even started back on my favourite green superfood powder. This has been positive for Lincoln too because the only veggies he wants are carrots,cukes, and sweet potato!

    I love smoothies with spinach…onces I started throwing the green stuff in there, I can’t make a smoothie without it!

    I am so with you on the toddler accidents! We are potty training the 2 yr old and if I had to clean poop/ pee out of the undies or off the floor one more time over Christmas I was going to scream!

    YAY for mile repeats!! They suck but they work!!! Can’t WAIT to see how you do in a few weeks. I hope there is athlete tracking!

    Right now mostly I have to bargain with myself if it involves walking/hiking outdoors. Which I love. And makes my dog liveable. But it is truly, miserably cold and damp right now. It is hard to believe I was born and raised her.

    I like green juice; but I like green smoothies/shakes better! I almost always add some greens powder and/or spinach to my shakes and I loooove them. It’s the absolute best way to sneak in some veggies. 🙂
