Taught an early morning spin class
Ran 7.46 treadmill miles in an hour (about an 8 minute mile pace most of the time)
I was a little purple.
Here are some pictures from our day because I just can’t help myself.
We took a couple of unplanned side trips yesterday after the gym. The first one was to the “John Deer Playground”.
And hey, someone’s getting better at his photography skills.
Ha ha. I love that the boys can take pictures for me now. We might be in trouble.
We worked up such a big appetite we had to make a stop at Subway for lunch.
We won a gift card awhile back that I’ve been waiting for a special occasion to use.
I gotta say, I really like Subway these days. They have so many fresh vegetables and other toppings now (including jalapeños) and the boys love the little kiddie meals that even come in some pretty darn cool bags.
We even made sure to get STUFT Daddy a foot long manwich. Holy smokes it was big.
It took some convincing, but we took our lunch to go and chowed down once we got home.
Luckily yesterday was a nap day. I never know these days if naps are going to happen or not. Yeah, it’s pretty waiting to see how the day unfolds.
So….. since naps happened, I got to experiment a little with my afternoon snack.
Isn’t it pretty?
Kind of weird, but pretty darn delicious.
I’ll post a recipe to the new version of these sweet kale crisps soon, but right now I have more important things to GIVE YOU!
First, I have to tell you a little something. See this bag of broccoli slaw?
It says it serves 11. I’m not even kidding, I ate 10 of the 11 servings for dinner. My stomach is a little upset with me.
Yep, pretty darn close to 2 pounds of roasted broccoli slaw was consumed. Oopsies.
Wouldn’t you know though I even had room for a little cake batter protein shake in a Flatout cinnamon crisp bowl with some frozen frosting underneath. I needed a little something for my night time “office hours”. Funny how I can always find room for dessert.
(I made this version with almond extract instead of butterscotch and it was good.)
Um, not that I want to show off my drawers or anything, but I was checking out my gear because I’ve got a little marathon coming up this weekend. I’m actually trying not to think about it too much just yet, but I do have my footwear picked out.
Now if I can only figure out what else to wear. Ha ha.
Whatever it ends up being, you better believe there’s going to be some Handful bra pads in there. I have just a few.
You know what else I have just a few of?
More of my favorite Pro Compression socks and sleeves.
I love them so much. I never knew how much they helped with muscle soreness and recovery until I started wearing them. I’m never going back to the “no pro” days. Ha.
There was a little twitter chat last night with Pro Compression and FitFluential. During the chat I decided it’s my goal to get a pair of compression socks in every color they have. Pretty good goal, huh?
Andrew asked me how many socks I need last night when we were talking about the chat. My response was “a lot”.
Oh and totally random, but Joaquin was upset that his roasted sweet potatoes with dinner were a little “brown”. Seriously? He better get used to it. Ha.
to get 40% off and free shipping on marathons socks (full price).
How awesome is that?
Know what else is awesome? This little cameo with my best friend Bob on Betty White’s new show. I haven’t watched the show, but I saw this little clip that made me a little less upset about the whole sock thing. it’s pretty funny.
That’s not all.
Know what else is REALLY awesome?

Dang I’m so excited about this giveaway.
*Giveaway will be open until Saturday night, January 26th at 11:00pm PST. Open to US residents only. I’ll announce the winners on Sunday with my race recap post. Isn’t that convenient?
Oh, and something else that’s pretty darn exciting that I just can’t forget is that it’s National Peanut Butter Day. Did you know about that?
The promo code is peanutbutterday (all lower case) and it will ONLY be active today. It’s for 50% off Original NuttZo – the BLUE LABEL. Pretty darn cool. I’ve fueled up with a little Nuttzo before races a couple of times. My favorite recipe is this one- Fudgy Oats.
(Um, and way too funny that that particular post just happens to feature the same bags of broccoli slaw I just consumed last night. Ha ha.)
Have a good one!
