Early Mornings, Lululemon Sweaty Sunday and NuttZo Winners

Not that you care, but part of my new plan to get my act together over here is to go to bed early and get up early to get things done before the day really starts. You know, bed at 10:00 pm, up at 5:30 am. It’s a new thing for me. The first few days it last week were marvelous.

Now, someone else decided he was going to change his schedule also and get up at 5:15 am every morning so I wouldn’t be awake by myself. Isn’t that nice? isn’t that how it always works?

At least he’s learning how to help out in the kitchen.

Give him just a couple months and he’ll be the best barista around. Ha ha.

He’s got the STUFT Tots Chocolate Milk and STUFT Daddy’s Mocha down.

IMG_7287

He’s slowly learning all the tricks of my Dark Chocolate Peppermint Mocha (which is a must with this new early morning waking up thing).

My morning “office hours” are at the kitchen table. It’s okay to be jealous of my set up. Ha ha.

So yesterday didn’t end with our special Valentine’s 10K. That was actually just the beginning.

Not only did my friend Beth do amazing at her first 10K yesterday, she also carted me all around afterwards AND went straight to the special Sweaty Sunday workout at Lululemon with me. She rocks.

I’m such a nice friend, I called her in route to the workout and had her pull over so I could ditch Papap and the boys and hitch a ride with her. I chomped on a Designer Whey protein bar on the way and tried to clean up a bit with one of my Action Wipes.

We arrived at Lululemon with 2 minutes to spare before the workout was supposed to start.

IMG_0058

I’m not sure if they do this at all the Lululemon stores, but the one in Carlsbad has free workouts every Sunday at 10:00 am called “Sweaty Sunday”. It’s a pretty cool thing. The workouts are different every week and range from yoga to Pilates to HIIT classes.

After a shirt change in the car and a quick shoe change from my new Elixir 8s to my RealFlex Fusion TRs,

IMG_0054

we were ready to go.

IMG_0046

I got to pick out one shirt from Lulu for the special workout so I picked this tank. I was so classy that I had my tag out to try to impress my new workout friends.

IMG_0047

Just tucking in my tag. Lovely.

Anyhoo, the workout was so fun. I taught the Y50X class that I teach at the Y. It’s three circuits of 5 moves and we go through each circuit twice. Most of them are high intensity, body weight plyometric type moves. You know, the ones that make your legs burn and sometimes make you feel like you’re going to barf. All the fun stuff (burpees, mountain climbers, slow jacks, lunges, etc.). Ha ha.

IMG_0048IMG_0049

Everyone was awesome! Seriously, these ladies and our lone gentleman rocked it. We all left some serious sweat on the floor of that store. He he.

We even had some time to spare at the end so what better thing to do than some planks and extra core moves?

IMG_0050

It was such a fun group.

IMG_0053

Aren’t they so awesome? I kind of wish we could all workout together every Sunday at the store. I’m sure the feeling is mutual. Ha.

It was so great to get to chat with my Y friends, new friends and some old friends too. There were even some from high school and college. Crazy. Allie and I went to college together and recently connected again because of this little blog.

IMG_0056

And um, she recently converted to be a Mizuno gal. Love it.

IMG_0057

Sharing the Mizuno love is my thing.

Look, Beth was sporting hers too.

So that was our morning. It was a blast. I owe Beth big time as she also had to drive my sweaty butt all the way home (yes, I do not live close to the Lululemon store).

IMG_0061

Thanks Lululemon for the fun workout!

IMG_0059

Thanks Pro Compression socks for getting my legs through back to back workouts.

Speaking of, if you missed out on the February Sock of the Month, good news because they made some more.

Hurry and order your before they’re gone again. Use code SOM213 for 40% off and free shipping.

You might need these. I know I do.

Oh, and I forgot to announce the randomly chosen NuttZo giveaway winners yesterday, so here they are:

#254 Holly

#274 Michelle

#62 Lindsay

#122 Heather (Where’s the Beach)

Congratulations winners! Email me your mailing address and I’ll send it along so you can get your fabulous jar of NuttZo. Seriously, if you haven’t tried this stuff, you’ve got to get your hands on some.

It was marvelous.

You know what else was marvelous? A huge bowl of my cake batter protein shake (made thick so it’s like ice cream) to finish off the weekend last night.

Mmmm hmmmm.

Have a wonderful day!

Just curious:

What’s your favorite way to work out? (Fitness classes, running, walking, sports game, etc.)

What’s your favorite way to end the weekend?

That’s awesome that they have the free class. I guess my favorite way to work out is running. Of course, I love lifting and really love my new bike trainer. I guess I just like moving huh ;-) And I’m SOOOO excited to win the nuttzo!

  4. 4

I can’t lie, I’m totally disappointed that I didn’t win some Nuttzo! Haha and I’m totally determined to take one of your classes if I ever make it out there :)

Did you get to keep the Lulu tank?

  6. 6

My favorite way to workout is a combo of cardio (love to get my sweat on) and strength training (a new found love–and I’m feeling so strong because of it). I do take a yoga class once a week that I adore, but that’s why I like it so much . . . it’s once a week. :) P.S. Love the Lulu tank–the sweetheart neckline is so pretty!

My fav workout is doing something different every day. Spin one day, core and strength the next , powerful flow yoga the next ….maybe doubling up on a combination of 2 of those …off one day. Yes the lulu in Cleveland offers free classes on Sundays. Usually yoga though. I’ve taught a yoga class there and had a fantastic time (and love the free top

  8. 8

It’s so cool they offer those classes, and I love that tank. Super cute!

  9. 9

That class looks like a ton of fun. I think I would actually join a workout group in college if someone like you taught it! :)

  10. 10

I love that Lululemon has free classes, I will have to see if it’s offered at the store near me! It looks like so much fun! The photo of your roasted squash with NuttZo is making me hungry!

I am so ADD that my favorite workout depends on the time of day, the way my day went, the weather & my mood mostly! I love all kinds of cardio & body pump classes, I gotta have my daily solo strength training and some times a yoga stretch :)
My favorite weekend wrapper-upper is a huge cup of tea in my favorite mug curled up on the couch with my hubs- that only happens once in awhile so it’s highly awaited! Maybe next weekend?!!!

    Becky Przy says:

Looks like you rocked (as usual) at the lulu class–how fun!!!

Running is my favorite way to work out. It seems to be the only thing I stick to consistently. I do lift weights and try to do some cross training, but I have to force myself to do it. I always end the weekend by putting the little one to bed/read stories and a bowl of ice cream.

perhaps I should run so I have an excuse fer new….
