Friday workout:
I ran 22.17 miles.
I ran in the middle of the day. Not the smartest. It was hot (like 80 degrees), I was hungry and my foot hurt like a mother for 12 of the miles (not sure what was going on there). So I took it really slow. I did bring water this time thank goodness (I learned my lesson), Power Bar chews, GU and Nuun.
This was one of those runs that took forever and I really had to talk myself into finishing it. I was so happy when I finally got back home. My times were all over the place, I won’t bore you with them, but I averaged a 10:07 mile. I can never seem to go fast when I’m doing long runs.
My foot attire was my Mizuno Nirvana 8s and my bright Pro Compression low trainers. I listened to a couple Jillian Michaels podcasts, but I can’t remember much of what she said. She talked about her new book that’s coming out though and it sounds like a good one.
Oh wait, I do remember one thing. She said not to test your will power. That it’s a muscle and the more you test it, the weaker it gets. She was talking about keeping temptations out of the house, etc. when it comes to food. It makes sense.
And yeah, I know I have some serious sweat art skills, but hey, it turns out I also have a gift with salt art.
You should’ve seen my back, it was disgusting. My poor Handful tank.
Lovely. I wore my other pair of Oculus sunglasses I got last week too and loved them. They stayed put and were comfortable the whole time I was out there. It’s always nice too when you can find sunglasses that fit nicely under a hat.
I couldn’t take a shower and get my recovery outfit on fast enough.
That recovery outfit stayed on as a cleaning and a date night outfit.
I know, STUFT Daddy is one lucky guy. Ha.
I actually whipped together a quick family dinner last night too. It was a modified version of lazy mama lasagna.
I used tortellini instead of raviolis and layered provolone cheese in there. It was a hit and I’m hoping the leftovers will be a hit tonight too. He he.
I attempted a little Costco roasted kale salad lasagna, but that didn’t turn out too well.
Oh well.
This helped.
If you missed my GNC post from this morning, check it out as there’s a new good Total Lean chocolate peanut butter protein muffin recipe.
I’ve been making a few different versions of it. Yesterday, post run it was topped with some NuttZo in celebration of a sale they were having (sorry didn’t get to mention that, but I posted it on Facebook).
I didn’t eat it like that, I actually transferred it to a bowl and put some GNC protein goo on top.
He he.
*Edit- I have a big Pro Compression giveaway news, but it doesn’t start until Monday, March 4th, so make sure to check back then. I originally had it posted on here, but just deleted it.
Okay, so back to Saturday tasks. I’m cleaning closets, organizing clothes and tackling the messy office. Eeeekkkk…..
Hope you’re enjoying your weekend!
Anyone else cleaning or organizing this weekend? I don’t know why I dislike it so much. Ugh.
Beverage of choice on the weekends (if any)- beer, wine or cocktails?
I’m a cheap wine kind of gal (if you haven’t noticed).

Got my Nutzo today!! Thanks 🙂 SO excited– love that wine! Nice work on the run too… way to rock it!
Do you like the NuttZo?
I just ordered a pair of calf sleeves and signed up for their newsletter when checking out!
Dang, I ordered FOUR ProCompression products last month and signed up for the newsletter at that time.
BTW, Menage a Trois Red is my FAVORITE wine!
Best wine ever. It’s on sale at our Vons right now for like $6.50 a bottle!!!!
Is it weird that I would rather win the compression socks over the ipad?
Hmm……. maybe. 🙂
i ordered and signed up. 🙂
80s?! Meanwhile, in WA, we just broke 50. For some locals, that is swimsuit weather. LOL. I do hope your foot works whatever is going on out. You know your shoes well, so it would be weird if it was a bad shoe fit, but you never know. Have a great Sunday.
Ha. Nice “swimsuit weather”. I would die. 🙂
I signed up for the email list!
I have the same problem with long runs. By the time I get up on the weekend and eat breakfast and get out there it’s HOT! I finished my last 20 miler at Yogurtland and it wasn’t until I walked home and looked in the mirror did I realize how salty I was. I think because its so hot and dry here in SoCal the sweat dries and leaves behind the salt and its more obvious than in humid places where I am just sweaty and wet. Oh well. Very excited about another giveaway, fun!
Finishing a run at Yogurtland may be the best idea I’ve ever heard. 🙂
That lasagna looks and sounds soo good! I hope your foot is feeling better!
Can I just say, I am totally inspired by you! You’re kind of my hero right now! I don’t know that I can buy Nutzo here in Canada, or at least not in the part of Canada that I’m from. I did however, make the Pizoatie you posted and it was a total hit with my two little ones, me, and even my husband! So, thank you for that as well! All the best to you and yours today 🙂
Oh my, you are too nice Aime. That pizoatie is fabulous, isn’t it? I haven’t made it for awhile, but I really need to. Hope you had a great weekend.
Always action packed here!!! So many recipes!!! 🙂
great job on that run girl… I would have died! I wish you would send that 80 degree weather here! It is not above freezing. I don’t mind cleaning weekends.. I really like to clean though. I’m so weird..
Can I pay you in NuttZO to come help me clean? 🙂
Great long run, 22 miles is a great training run, regardless of whatever pace you run at. All of your food looks AMAZING, going to have to try some of those.
You are honestly such an inspiration!! I want to be like you when I am older!! Your life is exactly what I want when I am older!! Amazing job on the run!!
Don’t be fooled. They’re a lot that doesn’t make it on the blog. LOL.
Great job pushing through on that run! That is my FAV wine!! 😉 I’m all about the good cheap wine. I want those pants! That would eliminate the need for an ice bath, no? I LOATHE the ice bath 😉
I’ve never done an ice bath. Yes- best wine ever!
ok. i’m dying because in your picture of you in your sunglasses, the way the sun hits your forearm it makes it look like your bottom half of your arm got cutoff. It’s funny, but it’s not in the sense that I don’t want backlash for laughing that you’re missing a forearm and hand
Ha. I didn’t even notice that. Funny.
Wow, that’s a long run in the heat! That picture kind of scared me — you look really dehydrated. Glad you are okay though.
