Friday workout:
Ran 7 miles on the home treadmill at about a 7:30 pace. I was just trying to fit a run in really quick before a hair appointment.
Saturday workout:
Taught a boot camp class in the rain.
So, yeah, the blog was down for awhile. That wasn’t too fun and I really should start backing up my stuff more often in case anything really extreme ever happens. Oops. I’m not going to lie though, it was a good excuse to not worry about bloggy stuff for a day.
I did a bunch of other things. Unfortunately I wasn’t at the cool food expo getting hooked up with goodies, since I decided to “fold ‘em” instead, but I was pretty productive.
I discovered that reruns of Sex and the City on E! followed by Live With Kelly and Michael might be the perfect home treadmill morning entertainment.
I even got my hair done AND went to Trader Joe’s all by myself.
I thought it was a good idea to go without the boys and those darn baby carts, but turns out it was almost more dangerous as I spent close to $200. Warning- do not go to Trader Joe’s alone, hungry and in need of caffeine.

I found two things I’m pretty excited about though.
Are these new or have I just been missing them?
I also begged the family to come with me to pick up my race packet last night for the San Diego Half Marathon.
I’m 99.9% sure they’re getting sick of me dragging them along, but they were good sports and even did a little racing of their own.
Best stop at the expo was to see Nick, the man behind my favorite Halo visor (and Halo hat and Halo headband).
They have a bunch of cool new products and colors.
And yes, if you must know it was pretty darn cold out for southern California and yes, I should’ve been a bit embarrassed that I was wearing a white snow jacket, but oh well. The whole family was pretty dressed up for the occasion. Ha ha.
I was pretty proud of the spur of the moment healthy dinner I whipped up for us last night too.
Non dairy kale chips, roasted green beans (prepared just like roasted peas), roasted carrots and salmon (grilled on the Cuisinart Griddler- I love that thing) with this delicious peach jalapeño jelly on it.
Andrew had his salmon with some cream cheese on their too, which is probably the better way to do it.
This morning before boot camp I had to revisit the no grain microwave English muffin with some more of that delicious jam on it.
I made a couple modifications to the recipe that seemed to work out better than I thought. I’ll have to fill you in.
After boot camp I had to go for the ultimate strawberry breakfast salad with some blueberries. I added the berries while the eggs were still cooking and I think I like it better that way.
Oh, and you know, I had to start carbing up with some new multigrain sandwich bread (also from Trader Joe’s) on the side.
NuttZo, coconut butter, PB2, you name it went on that bread.

I’d really like to keep sitting here with Kitty by the fire,
but it’s time to get some things done and figure out what to wear for the race tomorrow.
Speaking of, I have a couple new Mizuno skirts to choose from.
I know, right? How cute are they? Did you know they have special Mizuno running skirts?
I’m pretty pumped. They even have briefs with a little key pocket and everything.
Hmm…
outfit number one or outfit number two?
Decisions. Decisions.
Okay, I better go see what’s going on outside. STUFT Daddy and the boys are supposedly building a “tree house” so I have to see what that’s all about. Should be interesting.
Enjoy the rest of your Saturday!
Any big plans for the rest of the weekend?

I loooooooooove the orange skirt w/pink tank!! Have a great race!
Adorable skirts! Hope they function as good as they look!
The manikin’s head on the left looks like it’s bleeding. Bahaha. Why do I notice these things?
And I’m seriously impressed with your English muffins. They look like the real deal.
Both of those outfits are adorable! I love TJ’s coconut oil spray, I have been using it a lot since I found it on my last trip there. I haven’t seen the power green mix, I will have to pick that up next time! I completed my first race ever today, a 10 miler, and defiantly didn’t look as cute as you will in your racing outfit.
Nice job on completing your first race!!!! Yay! Hope you got to celebrate Nicole!
love those organic power greens from Trader Joes!!
I have not seen that coconut oil spray at TJ’s yet!! That’s awesome though–I’m hunting it down next week, for sure.
I love orange and pink together!!! So cute!!
I so enjoy seeing all of your food concoctions but for the first time it made me think that you pause and take a picture before eating just for us.
I don’t have the patience for that…ha! When the food is ready I just eat and think about photos after its waaaay too late.
Obviously why I am more of a blog reader/commenter than writer. Have a great race!
Yeah, the food picture taking thing is pretty annoying for everyone around me.
I haven’t seen that coconut oil spray at TJ’s before but I’m definitely going to try and find it when I go tomorrow! And yeah, I’m sure I’ve never gone to TJ’s before without buying at least a couple “impulse buys”
I think it’s impossible to go to Trader Joe’s without impulse buys.
Switch the tops of those race outfits, and I’d go with the orange and black
Have a great race!!
Shoot- I had to go with all black, but I’ll have to switch it up next time.
next time your blog is down i am going to force you to relax, k?
Have fun tomorrow!
good luck tomorrow!
love the pink and orange mizuno outfit!
So I think you should wear the pink top with the black and pink skirt and pink argyle pro compression socks. That’s my vote!
Dang- next time Gillian!
I had to go all black. It was my mood. Ha ha.
TJ’s is soooo dangerous hungry! and i love the pink outfit!
I am so excited for that coconut oil spray!!!:)
You must find it!!!
Ooh, coconut spray- I need some of that!! I just saw your half results– amazing, lady! Can I come train with you so some of that speed can rub off on me??
Congrats!
Good luck.
I found Coconut spray, different brand & love the stuff.
Awasome outifits. Sweet.
I love the double slide! I need one of those for my twins.
I commented on the wrong post. I’m a genius!
Craigslist.
He he.
Trader Joe’s is a great store! And I think the spray coconut oil is new, because I haven’t seen it before and that is something I would definitely buy a lot of! I always buy my greens like spinach there, because I have read numerous articles and been told many times, spinach is one of the things you should ALWAYS buy organic.
Sex And the city re-runs during a run= winning.
TJs is amazing! I found a few new things there too! :O
Man,, you made use of that down time!!!!!!!
