Playing Favorites Again- A Move, Good Times and More

Workout:

Taught a Y50X class and a strength training class

Ran 2 miles on the treadmill

Favorite new move I added to a circuit in my Y50X class last night was this one from a Self Magazine email.

It even has a cool name “double diamond”. I will for sure be using that one again.

The complete first circuit that we went through twice was this (in case you care):

- double diamond

- side burpees

- high knees

- curtsey lunges (jumping as an option)

- fast feet/down to the ground

You can try it on your own at home. 1 minute each move and go through twice. I think you’d like it.

Yesterday was STUFT Daddy’s birthday. The boys and I treated him to a little breakfast at The Original Pancake House.

IMG_0782

We did not go with the Apple Pancake, although the table next to us did. That is one big pancake.

IMG_0783

I went with a veggie egg white omelet. I pretty much get the same thing every time I go out to breakfast. I also ask them to make it dry because I’m that girl. I learned that little tip from Jillian Michaels. It makes a huge difference when you ask them to make it dry. I forgot my own hot sauces this time though.

This one almost looked like they baked it or something. Who knows. It was good and that’s all that matters.

Then we took our main man to our favorite playground.

IMG_0787

I guess he knows how to swing the right way.

Now, just a guess, but I’m pretty sure where we went next was his favorite part of his birthday.

IMG_0789

Ha ha.

Yeah, so yesterday I tried to shop at Target without my wallet, today I took the whole family to Costco without my membership card. I’m on a roll.

Thank goodness for temporary cards and for cheap clothes. Andrew got to pick himself up a little something real nice.

IMG_0790

He also got to see how easy it is to spend $250 at Costco like nobody’s business.

Obviously he was pretty excited about the whole thing.

IMG_0791

Obviously something really strange was going on with my neck in that picture.

I had my fingers crossed we’d get our special Chobani delivery yesterday so I could play it off like it was planned on his birthday and all.

Thank you Chobani for pulling through just as I had hoped and especially for pulling through with these Chobani bite cups that we love.

IMG_0796

And I do mean LOVE. Have you gotten to try these yet? They are fabulous.

Some new favorite drink concoctions:

I’ve been subbing in a CocoaVia dark chocolate pack for half the amount of my favorite cocoa powder in my mocha lately.

IMG_7603

This yummy drink was made yesterday and was pretty impressive- a tropical orange Designer Whey Protein 2 Go packet, a tropical Nuun tablet and a little apple cider vinegar.

IMG_0798

It was like a tropical Orange Julius with some protein and a little kick.

It’s been over a week since I’ve made sweet roasted kabocha squash. I’ve got to say, I’m pretty proud. And, well, the good old favorite broccoli slaw is back fully stocked in the house.

Last night I had roasted broccoli slaw (along with roasted Brussel Sprouts, roasted carrots and that Trader Joe’s Organic Power to the Greens mix) with some non dairy “cheesy” sauce and all three of these fabulous hot sauces.

Heck yeah. I’m trying to get back into the groove of burning vegetables on a nightly basis. Speaking of burning, I think my mouth is still on fire from that last night.

IMG_0399

Um, yeah, I almost missed that too. I’m running the LA Marathon on Sunday. What the heck? When did that happen? It snuck up on me, that’s for sure. Yikes.

Happy Friday!

That new dark chocolate microwave muffin recipe is my next post. I’ve already been working on it (and sampling quite a few muffins).

Family trips to Costco- yay or nay?

What’s your favorite hot sauce ever?

What does it mean to order the omelet “dry?” Do they make it with less oil?

Love Costco, but I leave the hubby in the car….that way he doesn’t see how much we spend. Haha!

I live within walking distance to Costco but I rarely go. Weird, I know. I received a shipment of the Chobani bites this week too! My son and I made “ice cream cones” with the coffee flavor the other night- came out great! i posted how we did it the other day. Try it with your boys, they will like it! We used the little cupcake cones and he picked some toppings to mix in. Healthy dessert.

What a fun move! And I lvoe Original Pancake House. They have some GOOD breakfast. It’s been awhile since we’ve been. Now I have a craving. Good thinking on the dry omelet. I need to start doing that. I always foget and I hate when the omelets come out dripping in grease. I don’t mind some oil but I don’t like my omelet swimming and slimy going down. Blech.

I loooove Costco, especially the book aisle, heehee. I always make sure to grab a couple of toys for the kids to “look” at so I can browse the books in relative peace. Also, I love those compression socks! So adorable! And the LA Marathon is on my bucket list! I’m looking forward to your chocolate mic. muffin recipe; I’ve been craving chocolate the last week or so, and haven’t caved, so anything even remotely chocolaty and even somewhat healthy will be really great! Hope you and your family have a great weekend, and all the best with the marathon! :)

I LOVE the omelets from the Original Pancake House! I think they whip the egg whites till they have soft peaks, fold everything in, and then bake it. I have yet to attempt it at home, but I really want to!

My favorite hot sauce is the local brand we found in California during our honeymoon. It was amazing but we can’t get it in Washington and it makes me sad every day. Seriously need to go to Cali just to get some more…or I could order it online, that would probably be easier

You’re a girl after my own heart! Costco – Love…and ORIGINAL PANCAKE HOUSE! Uber delicious choice. I worked at the locations in Las Vegas for nearly 3 years when I was in High School and then the summer after freshman year in college. Was a hostess and then graduated to server. The omelets ARE baked by the way. That’s why they take 20-25 minutes. 4 eggs too. They’re gigantic. And I LOVE them.

IF you ever decided to do the apple pancake I highly recommend getting 3 girlfriends (or the fam) together and splitting it up. That thing is gigantic (and sweet) enough for 4 people to be stuffed on it. Just a friendly suggestion from someone who is VERY familiar with the menu!
