Just a Couple of Thursday Things and a Spicy Giveaway

Just a Couple of Thursday Things and a Spicy Giveaway

Wednesday Workout:

Taught a spin class

Ran seven slow miles on the treadmill while attempting to read Runner’s World.

I don’t know how people run and read. I can’t pull it off.

I also don’t know how to go to the gym with any less than 3 pairs of shoes. I always have at least one pair of Mizuno shoes.

I really need a bigger gym bag.

I’m tired friends. So tired. I’m also so stinking behind on everything from chores to returning emails to replying to comments. Ugh.

So, I’m asking for a little help.

Yesterday it was from Starbucks

So far today it’s from anyone who will lend a hand.

One of my guys is a little more helpful than the other. And yes, he’s wearing Christmas pajamas. I’m also behind on laundry thank you very much.

I’m not behind on eating just about ever single snack food we have in the house though.

Yesterday we got into these Mediterranean Snacks.

I got a sample of them back at the Runner’s World Half Marathon and we recently got these to try out.

We went through two bags yesterday. The first one was the Olive Tapenade.

We paired them with hummus and some fresh salmon and low fat cream cheese from Costco.

It was like a little family afternoon snack party. Eating while standing at the counter. We’re so classy.

Oh, some news to share. I recently became a Nuun Ambassador. I’m pretty excited about it since I drink the stuff like mad.

Even more exciting is that I got a really cool box from them (complete with a personalized card from the CEO) in the mail last week.

Woot woot! I got my hands on the BRAND NEW flavors!

These just came out this month: Watermelon, Lemonade and Cherry Limeade.

I got to try the Cherry Limemade at the Afternuun Rehydration event a couple months ago.

It is sooooo good, and really great mixed with my other favorite Kona Cola. I also love that they both have a little caffeine. Nuun + caffeine = perfection. He he.

And, well, while I’m going to play catch up today, I want you to have a little something. It’s about time, yes?

I’ve professed my love for Scotty B’s hot sauces a million times on here. We were out of them for awhile, but luckily we have them back in the house.

Here’s all my favorites.

I go through them WAY too fast.

Thought I’d share that if you “like” the Scotty B’s Facebook Fan Page

you’ll see a special discount code for 20% off all Scotty B’s products. That’s pretty cool!

Just a note that they’re a small California company that I hunted down once I tried their sauces. Now that I’m obsessed with their hot sauce I keep bothering them and stalk them at various street fairs. Ha.

I bothered them enough though and I get to give away a hot sauce to one of you.

Yep. One bottle. Your flavor choice.

All you have to do to enter is leave a comment here telling me your favorite hot sauce and/or favorite way to use it. Or, if you don’t want to talk hot sauce, tell me whatever you want. Anything.

If you’re feeling friendly, “like” Scotty B’s Facebook page and feel free to tweet about it too for an extra entry.

“I want to get my hands on some of @stuftmama favorite @ScottyBHotSauce . Check out the giveaway here: http://ow.ly/jie6N

*Giveaway will be open until 11 pm PST, Saturday night March 23. Open to US Residents only.

Okay, I’m off. I’m trying to catch up and plan some serious upcoming race business. I can’t wait to share!!!! Ahhh!!!!!!

I love Frank’s Red Hot Sauce, and the green tabasco. If I won this lovely little contest, I’d definitely want to try the Bacon Jalapeno! Also, I cannot read on the treadmill either! I did just buy that magazine the other day though, and so far, its great, as usual; I love runner’s world! Don’t worry about being behind on chores and what not. Hot sauce makes everything so much better. I’ve been using the Trader Joes Habanero Sauce on a variety of foods ever since you suggested it (last year some time). That stuff is crazy hot, but I love it.

I don’t know how other people read on the treadmill either. I’m envious because I wish I could, but all the words just bounce around and I can’t keep my spot.

Your Nuun box looks fabulous. I’m so glad you got to become their ambassador. My husband swears by the stuff for hydrating while cycling.

I like Siracha and use it to marinade turkey drumsticks. My husband likes everything super spicy; so he plants his own habanero peppers and then I get the lovely task of smoking them and pureeing them and using it for marinades as well. I also like Tabasco for my Coronas with lime. I would love to try Scotty B’s “Arch Nemesis”.

Congrats on your PR this past weekend!!!

    Jordan D. says:

I’m absolutely obsessed with hot sauce, so I can relate to your need to put it on everything and always run out way too fast! Sriracha is amazing, obviously. I’m also a long-time fan of Tabasco brand habanero sauce, it’s a good balance of sweet and hot…perfect for stir fry sauces and fruit salsas. But really, the hotter the better. Love ghost chili hot sauce, habanero, whatever is super spicy!

  51. 51
    Jennifer G says:

Of course you’re tired! With everything you do, even Superwoman herself would be exhausted. And I’m pretty sure you are Superwoman, BTW. My suggestion would be to take a day off from running (and classes if possible). Your body needs it. I don’t want to sound like a know-it-all, but I know what happens from my own experience on a much small scale (because I only do a fraction of the exercise you do). I get run-down, sick or injured, it becomes a chore, I get more neurotic about it, etc. You owe it to yourself to take a break (from the things you can control anyway).

I am a fellow fan of spice too, just look at my blog’s name….Just Add Cayenne!

Haven’t tried Scotty B’s, but you have me really yearning for the chance! I’m another Sriracha fan and love it on a plain hard boiled egg. Don’t know why, but it’s purely awesome. My other fav is the green Jalapeno Tabasco. It’s milder so I can dash more cayenne on myself, and it’s perfect on anything; even as a salad dressing.

Oh yeah, salsa for salad dressing is the only way to go too!
