Well, my workout today:
Attempted to run on the treadmill. Made it 0.4 miles very slowly before deciding to get off and switch to the elliptical. It wasn’t fun. I wanted to run so bad.
My leg was pain free on the elliptical. I stayed on that thing for 70 minutes, admired this dress Gwyneth had on, read a little Self Magazine and got a good sweat in.
Thank you elliptical friend and Live With Kelly and Michael for keeping me somewhat sane today.
Taught a BOSU class. Kept it relatively simple and pain free, but did not forget my favorite BOSU burpees.
I had a few minutes to spare afterwards before getting the boys so I did the stair mill for exactly 7 minutes. Is that what it’s called? The stair mill?
Whatever it is, it’s tough and 7 minutes was plenty.
So, um, yeah, as some of you saw on Facebook, we had a little unfortunate incident at the gym.
After my sweat session on the elliptical, the boys and I were going to walk to grab a snack before I had to teach my class.
Well, well, well, my buddy (I’ll let you guess who) not only ran out the front door of the gym while I was getting my three gym bags together (yes, three), but he proceeded to drop his pants and pee right in front of the gym entrance. And I mean RIGHT in front.
As I sprinted out there (yeah, that felt good on my groin), he just stood there with his pants around his ankles showing me where he went “pee pee” while everyone looked on. And I do mean everyone. Even the head manager was out there for the STUFT show. I couldn’t even snap a picture I was so embarrassed. We got out of there fast. (Only to have to come back about an hour later to teach my class.) Who knows what was said about me behind my back. I’m THAT mom. Lovely.
We made it to Panera.
Here’s what we got (along with a strong café Americano for yours truly).
I needed some fuel before heading back to the scene of the crime.
Oh, and when we got back there there was a yellow “caution, wet floor” sign on the curb and they had cleaned the area.
How lucky am I I get to go back bright and early tomorrow? I wonder how long until people forget about it. Hmmm…
I found myself pretty grumpy today. Sounds like that’s the norm though when you’re injured. I didn’t want to be, it just kind of happened. I’m trying hard to realize I still have some time to get better and I just need to focus on other things, but I was kind of a short tempered mama this evening. It may also have something to do with our looming taxes that are due very soon and I am just a wee bit not ready for that.
I tried to redeem myself though with the boys by taking everyone to the park.
It went over pretty well.
And may I just say, I am very thankful I randomly have an extra vegetable peeler and these guys are getting pretty good at peeling carrots.
Right now I’m icing my crotch yet again, am all taped up with my Rock Tape, and will be attempting to sleep in my 110% Play Harder compression knickers. I’m crossing my fingers that I can pull off just a short run tomorrow.
This post is super lame. I am sorry, but I also must get to bed so I’m not a grumpy old hag tomorrow.
I do have a really fun new snack creation to share with you though. Oh, and I better try that peanut butter muffin again to see if it’s blog worthy.
Have you ever done the stair mill? Love it or hate it?
What’s your favorite thing to order at Panera?
Do you get grumpy when you’re injured too?
