Random Hump Day Thoughts

Random Hump Day Thoughts

Tuesday Workout:

Taught a 45 minute BOSU class

30 minutes on the elliptical before having to hightail it to a tax meeting with our CPA

(instagram pic)

Sported my custom Reebok nanos to try to be cool.

Random thoughts today because I can’t get it together. Shocker. Really, I have a lot of giveaways for you that I’m lagging on and a lot of responses to you as well. Dang it. Goodness help me I better get at least one giveaway up later today, but right now I’m still recovering a bit from my tax cram session and I juts have a few minutes before I’m off to teach spin.

We’re a little under the weather today over here.

Judah’s first thing he said to me this morning was “Mom, let’s make the bed and then make your coffee”. He didn’t have to say that twice.

Then when I was feeding Turk he said, “Mom, well thanks for feeding Turk and being such a great helper this morning”. Too funny.

Joaquin, well, he was really excited that he killed a bug with his hands.

Random hump day thoughts here we go:

I always have to have seasonal coffee mugs. So weird. Things are just better in certain mugs though, yes? This is my “spring” one.

I’ve been on a cereal and strawberries kick lately. It must be a spring thing too.

I like to mix a little Chobani with Silk almond milk to make the milk a little thicker. And everything is better with a little PB2 sprinkled in the mix too.

I tried a new drink at Starbucks yesterday. I had them add two pumps of sugar free vanilla syrup to my venti café Americano. It was mighty delicious of I do say so.

Also, if I’m not at home and I can’t bake my Quest Bar (like I usually do), I just let the heat of the car do the work instead. For some reason these bars are so much better warm. Here’s the test I do to see if they’re ready.

When you open them and they start to bend down a little like that, well, then they’re ready to eat.

You’re welcome.

I went to Costco last night and almost spent our entire tax return. Ha. Just kidding. But, funny that I went to Costco last year too right after my CPA appointment.

I had to get some more of my favorite bread.

I don’t know if I’m alone here, but I search the shelves for the softest, least cooked loaves of bread with the latest date. I can spend up to 5 minutes (okay, maybe like 7) doing this and comparing loaves of bread. I’m sure they love me there.

I found these veggie muffins in the freezer section.

I thought they might be good toddler on the go snacks.

I’ll let you know how they are.

Oopsies. Time to go.

My next post WILL have a giveaway for you, so stay tuned.

I’ll leave you with one of the most unflattering pictures ever.

Have a good one!

Random thought: how is it that I am born and raised in the Seattle area and still can’t handle the cold and the rain. In fact, as they years go by I get less tolerant.

    Have a great day! Sam

I want those muffins! I need to check my Costco now 🙂

I will have to ask my mom to look at their costco for those zucchini muffins, they seem like they might be a quick snack. I like eating yogurt with granola or cereal but haven’t thought of also adding milk to the mix, I might have to try that.

Love Americano with SF Vanilla Syrup! Such a tasty drink; those chocolate zucchini muffins look really tasty too!
Quest Bars are definitely wayyyyy better warmed up; I remember when I first tried one just cold I was really disappointed but safe to say when I heated it up I turned into an addict haha!

I’ll be honest, I don’t like to eat quest bars at all unless they’re heated up. It’s just not right.

Thanks for bringing up coffee mugs, your random thought just reminded me that I need to pull a box of dishes out of the garage so my favorite mugs can come inside. (still working on unpacking since I moved into the house with my fiance)….So thanks for the reminder!

Check your Costco for the Garden Lites veggie soufflés! It’s just an egg white and veggie soufflé that you can microwave or bake up. Really convenient and yummy! I hope my store starts carrying those muffins soon.

Feeling you on the injury front. Stepped off the curb into a hole in the concrete at my daughter’s school last Friday and am now on crutches with a bone chip and grade 2 ankle sprain. Missed my half marathon on Saturday; based on my expected finish time and the results, I could have grabbed an age group medal too. Dang it. I’m really sorry to hear you will have to miss Boston. You’re right though; it will motivate you to crush it next year! Prayers for a quick recovery!

I want to hear about the veggie muffins! I haven’t seen them at my Costco yet. Warm Quest bars ARE the best!

Just last night we were all eating ice cream out of our “Red Christmas mini bowls” we commented why we never kept them out all year before…they are the perfect size bowl for every thing!!

I shoveled a couple of heavy, wet, ice crusted snow this morning and we are expected to get up to 8 more inches by tomorrow night. 😉 Spring MUGS? I guess subconsciously I knew there was a reason to keep the Christmas bowls out…..its more like winter around here than Spring. UGH!

Sorry to hear about your injury. I hope I never need an MRI, I’m afraid of what they would find! Sounds like you have to take it easy with running, but is it okay for you to do all your other workouts? Will the edema go away just by laying off the running? Are you going to start doing yoga now?;) My running seems to be going okay, but I did a Bob Harper DVD 2 days ago and my butt is still sore! The Bob Harper workout is affecting my running! Will have to do a yoga DVD before I run again. I don’t let myself run, unless I get a full body yoga workout in at least a few times a week.

I am a big fan of Starbucks Americans and also the Starbucks double shot (actually has more than 2 shots), but my favourite add in right now is the sugar free cinnamon dolce syrup. Try it!!

Random thought Wednesday: While I was at the car dealership getting my oil changed, I read on social media that your car wouldn’t start in the morning, and then the service guy told me I had to replace all 4 of my tires. WHAT? Oh and the dealership wanted to charge me $280 a tire. Yeah right…went somewhere else for a much better deal. When it rains it pours..right? Glad you are smiling in all of these pictures! XOXO

    I wish we had a Costco….

So funny about the mugs! I’m the same way and my husband thinks I’m a wee bit coo coo for it, but the shape, size and color of the mug does make a difference, right?! 😉

    Kristin says:

I love seasonal mugs!! I do the exact same thing. My mom actually got me the cutest, lime green mug from Starbucks for Easter. It is very spring-y.

And yes, I know my “mommy” probably shouldn’t be buying a grown woman an Easter gift, but I like presents. A lot.

  1. […] good. Even better in that mug. He he. I think it might be my new thing if I’m not in the mood for my usual […]
