A Quick Friday Five (Or More, Who Knows)


Thursday workout:

Taught Y50X class and a strength training class at the Y

(I got to try out some new moves I learned on The Talk from Tony Horton, the “10 Minute Trainer”. They were awesome and it’s about time the boys and I did a little workout video, so we’ll be sure to share soon.)

I jumped on the elliptical for 45 minutes after my classes. Watched some quality TV.


I tried to snap a picture, but the guy next to me was giving me some weird vibes so I had to make it quick.


Oh look, his backside just happen to get in the picture. He he.

Oh wait, so did mine.




This will be quick since I really need to tell you about the amazing LEGOLAND Hotel, but just wanted to talk random stuff first.

Friday Five:


The boys and I attempted a walk yesterday. My plan was to do some walking hill repeats.


We got about half way up and Grandma showed up. So, that was that. Like the Buzz Lightyear fist though? It’s like a hand weight. We’ll show those people who walk with little weights what’s up next time.



We’ve got our buffalo jerky for sale on here. Do you see it over there on the right? If we sell enough the boys might be able to go to preschool next year. Ha ha.

I made a delicious little mid morning snack yesterday. Very similar to this husky green pancake, but no spinach.

Husky STUFT pancake

Not very cute, as it was made in the microwave, but it was yummy and I’m sure it will be revisited when I need a quick little protein snack.

Husky Microwave Pancake

1 cup egg whites

4 grams (about 1/2 tablespoon) psyllium husk

1 sweetener packet (I like my new favorite sweetener)

a little vanilla

cinnamon to taste


Combine ingredients. Put in a microwave safe bowl sprayed with nonstick spray. Microwave for 3:33-4:44 minutes. (I have a little number problem when I microwave things.)


It was so good. It reminded me of French toast. I topped mine with a little sugar free jam and some extra cinnamon. These are my current favorite jams by the way. They are best mixed together.



In other snack news, I’ve had this a couple times recently for my afternoon snack.


Gosh my pictures are just stellar today, aren’t they? Ugh.

Flatout cinnamon crisps and a chocolate chip cookie dough Quest Bar. I just bake it on the same cookie sheet as the crisps. Then I top it all with low calorie peanut butter frosting.

Um, yeah.

And, if you haven’t done it yet, juts bake a Quest Bar already will ya.

Our new favorite find from Costco is this raw salmon. Sorry, only the box because I made a huge mess trying to open the package last night.


I also made a huge mess with my roasted peas and other vegetables to go with the salmon.


Not to mention I had way too much wasabi on there. I think I still have a headache and a little burning in my nose.


Random, but if you ever have to convert a PDF file to a JPEG, this website does it for you for free and then emails it to you. You don’t even have to sign up for anything.



And, turns out my favorite Scotty B’s hot sauce has a new website and I’ve been linking the old one. Go me.

I already need to order some more. I go through that stuff like crazy!

    Quick question….I’ve been hearing a lot lately, that if you have diastasis you should not do crunches..?? Is this true? Am I really making it worse? (I do all kinds of abs, but not sure if this is true?)
    BTW I LOVE jerky…any kind! yay!!

      Kori-YES!!!!! If you have diastasis (especially if it’s new and there is still time to have it go back to normal) you should NOT do crunches. They make it worse. Certain moves are okay, but standard crunches are no bueno. 🙂

        OMG! ok, I know your crazy busy, but….my youngest is 3, How do I know if I do in fact have it? Can I do full sit ups? V ups? What CAN I do?? Help! I’m afraid I’ve been making it worse & doing it all wrong! Thanks Stuft Mama!

    I love how STUFT cat’s feet all seem to be together, doesn’t look very comfortable. I always think its funny when Bentley seems as happy as can be laying in the most awkward positions. I’ll be on the lookout for the quest bar giveaway, I would love to try them!

    I’ve been planning my imaginary shopping cart filled with different Quest bars but haven’t pushed myself to actually order any online, I can’t wait for the giveaway! I love love love love love that smoked salmon from Costco. With cream cheese. On Wasa crackers. Best things ever.
    I also always pile on the wasabi–I feel like my wasabi tolerance increases every time I have it. Sometimes I’ll eat it with very strange foods (beets, bleu cheese, chicken), or inside a piece of rolled up pickled ginger like they give you with sushi. Anyway! Have a great weekend!

    TMZ is a guilty pleasure for hubby & I! There is one of the voiceover guys that is hilarious! I love that they do not take themselves seriously anymore.. they used to but now they make fun of themselves so that makes me feel better about watching! I actually met one of the guys at a Gatorade party a couple years ago.

    Legoland is FUN for the kiddos & adults too!@ Have taken grandkids there!

    I have tried a few Quest bars but not that elusive one – I am not as enamored as others but they do taste better warm. How long do you bake for & what temp.

    A questbar giveaway just in time. I only have 2 left and I need more!! I also might need to get a job to support m unhealthy addiction to them! They ain’t cheap!

    There is this couple that works out at my same gym and they wear their jeans. It is so weird. And I am there at 6am so it’s not like a work/lunch break thing. Yesterday the husband was running on the treadmill in his jeans and huge work boots!! What the?!

    You should have just turned to the creepy guy next to you with your phone and said, ‘cheese!’ 😉

    I just read in a post that you like our Foppen Norwegian Smoked Salmon Slices that you buy at Costco. You also mentioned that you messed up the pack during opening. This is a problem we heard more so we would like to give you a short instruction.

    If you take the pack out of the carton sleeve you see at the right hand lower corner a tab, if you pull this tab the pack will open very easy, you don’t have to cut of clip the pack.

    We improved the packaging and in around 2 week the Costco stores will be stocked with packs were the tab is green and have printed OPEN on it.

    Sorry about the inconvenience and I hope my comments are clear. I work at our corporate office in the Netherlands so I’m not a native speaker.
