Spin List, Wishing for FRS Gifts, Samples and a Weird Salad

Spin List, Wishing for FRS Gifts, Samples and a Weird Salad

Workout:

AM- Taught a spin class

Elliptical with my friends Live With Kelly and Michael for 60 minutes. Snoop Dogg made an appearance too.

PM- another 40 minutes on the elliptical after the boys took a fun little yoga class

Different gym, different elliptical, different magazine to distract me. Found a “cool app” I really need.

And Anderson Cooper was chatting about this on his show.

Took me awhile to figure out what he was talking about until he started this big story about something that happened to him when he was younger. Weird.

So, as promised here are three of my favorite spin songs from my class yesterday morning.

Nothing too exciting, but these are my “go to” songs when my brain just can’t think anymore.

Here’s a spin class article from Fit Bottomed Girls just in case you want a little more information.

I also check the Schwinn Indoor Cycling Facebook page periodically as they post playlists on there that I like to get ideas from.

In other news, the FRS Healthy Energy sweepstakes winners were announced yesterday.

Congrats!!!

But…….. starting at 5 PM PST today, you can go here and “gift” a free sample pack of products (the same exact products I received) to a friend. They have 5,000 sample packs to give away. Pretty darn cool. I don’t know about you, but I’m a sucker for anything that’s free. Not to mention this FRS stuff is darn good.

You can even “wish” for a sample so you can have a friend send one to you. Now there’s a great idea. He he.

Here’s the link to either “wish” or “gift”.

Speaking of free samples. We went to Costco yesterday and made out on the samples.

They boys led me straight to my favorite bread and my favorite wine. (Yeah, they can spot that a mile away, should I be proud?)

And then of course to the Chobani samples.

We got suckered into buying four bags (all different flavors) of these pirogues they were also sampling.

I slaved in the kitchen (for about 15 minutes) to whip up those bad boys with a little olive oil, garlic and parmesan for dinner. (That’s how Andrew told me you’re supposed to make them.)

I also roasted a few vegetables and played the whole “how much can I fit in my big bowl” game.

Earlier in the day yesterday I was ravenous when we got home from Costco so I made the quickest, weirdest salad ever.

IMG_1893

Trader Joe’s Power to the Greens mix, apple cider vinegar as dressing, sprinkles with a packet of stevia, strawberries (also from Costco) and turkey bacon.

I thought it was really weird until everyone on instagram said they eat salads like that all the time. Who knew? What’s really weird is that I don’t even like bacon that much. Maybe the key was burning it in the oven.

Before I go, some totally random thoughts this morning.

I love huge jugs

and huge mugs.

You?

Also, I added a little cinnamon and coconut oil to my sugar almond coconut mocha this morning and it was quite delightful.

Have a good one!

My favorite song to teach to right now – Radioactive-imagine dragons. Serious hill climbing

As a girl of Polish descent, I can tell you that our family fried pierogis with butter and onions. Now when I make them I boil them in water to cook them and crisp them up with coconut oil and sautee mushrooms, spinach and onions. The best brand in the world is Alexandra from Chicago. We buy large quantities and freeze them. My boyfriend eats them with BBQ sauce and I swear my ancestors scream in protest. 🙂 Seriously though, pierogis = delicious.

I have been liking Harlem Shake while running and always think it would make a great speed interval song for spin class…as for weird salads, I tend to crave odd combos during the weeks that I run/spin more. One odd combo last month was a salad with my usual mixed veggies, chick peas and avocado but randomly had a craving for bananas, brown rice ad bbq sauce. Since I eat what I crave, I add the combo to my salad. It was delicious. Haven’t craved it since though but if I do, I will make it again lol

I giggled a little when you said it was a weird salad!
YOu always come up with different combonations that are really yummy.
I did just order apple cider vinegar pills b/c I’ve been reading so much about the benefits, but can’t seem to get it into my diet enough to make a difference.

Costco samples = LOVE and I’m not just saying that because I work for Costco!

I actually thought of you when I tried something new from Costco today. Frozen chocolate covered bananas. The whole pack was 100 calories and was SO good. 4 large pieces of sliced bananas all covered in chocolate. YUM! Brand new item that I will definitely be getting!

Andrew’s got the recipe wrong. Slow cook/saute a bunch of sliced onions in olive oil until they are yummy browned. Remove from skillet, then brown pierogies, then toss onions back in. salt and pepper is important and so is serving it with sour cream. I sent boys home with an art project you can put together with them when you wake up at 4:45 am. Your welcome!
