A Little Frozen Frosting Combination AND a Hot Short Giveaway

A Little Frozen Frosting Combination AND a Hot Short Giveaway

Good morning friends.

My workout yesterday- I taught a spin class. Dropped some sweat all over where my notes SHOULD be.

Favorite song of the workout was “Send Me on My Way- Rusted Root”. We just ran out of the saddle with a few gear changes for it (and smiled of course).

Got on that darn stair mill for 20 minutes afterwards and then the elliptical for 40 to make it a solid hour.

I was bored out of my mind on the elliptical yesterday, even with an old US Weekly I found at the gym. Some days the time just drags on and on doesn’t it?

Oh, which reminds me. I’ve been wearing these new clothes a lot lately. I wore the tank again up in Monterey this past weekend while checking out the elliptical at the hotel fitness center.

I wore the capris and a different Reebok tank (this one that I ordered with my ReebokONE discount) Tuesday to the gym.

I brought along the new pair of PWR Hot Shorts I got the other week to see if I was brave enough to change into them to teach my BOSU class.

I was not. I did, however, change into them afterwards and continued to sport them all afternoon around the house.

(Seriously, love that I can have Judah take pictures for me now.)

I even wore them for a serious cleaning cardio session. Not sure if you’re aware, but cleaning cardio is MUCH more fun in short shorts.

Especially these Reebok short shorts.

SO much so, that I want YOU to win some. Yes, I think they will make you feel cool for your workouts in warmer weather (especially with the PlayDry technology) AND help you keep your house clean. He he. Giveaway details at the bottom of the post.

I’m still working on my Big Sur Marathon recap post because I don’t want to forget anything about the race and the experience. I haven’t had the time to sit at the computer and really focus as I’ve been trying to be in the moment with my main men.

Which has included making them jump on board with the whole cleaning cardio thing.

Maybe they need some hot shorts too.

We got a little LOVE drop the other day from Love Grown Foods.

Heck yes the cutest water bottle ever.

Heck yes those Cocoa Goodness oat clusters are very dangerous (in a good way of course).

Heck yes I’m sure these were made just for me. Ha ha. Kidding. Love Grown Foods seriously knows how to make you feel good though.

We also got some more FRS goodies. I didn’t know they had so many other things besides the sampler pack of fun stuff I got last week.

Has anyone tried any of these?

Random eats over the past couple days worth sharing:

My cinnamon sugar breakfast STUFTwich got a little out of control yesterday morning.

That was not easy to eat.

My favorite snack of the week has been these wasabi seaweed snacks with some Costco salmon.

So so good.

I did the whole Flatout cinnamon crisps, sweet roasted carrots and baked chocolate chip cookie dough Quest bar thing topped with low calorie peanut butter frosting yesterday too.

Oh wait, and……

after roasting a bazillion vegetables last night,

and eating an entire bag of roasted broccoli slaw and roasted brussel sprouts all by myself,

I made a little something special for dessert.

Nothing really that amazing, but I layered both flavors of the frozen frosting I used to make all the time.

(Two ingredient dark chocolate frosting and low calorie peanut butter frosting.)

I froze them together for about 3 hours or so to make myself a little low calorie peanut butter cup.

I know, right?

It melted pretty quickly though. Also, don’t get me wrong, the real deal (like big Reeses cups) are better (as are the new Peanut Butter Crave Quest Nutrition cups), but I just wanted something to save some calories last night and this did the trick.

Of course I did it up right with some cake batter ice cream and a Flatout cinnamon crisp bowl.

Mmm hmm…..

Okay, Big Sur recap post next. I will NOT post any random pictures of food until I get that post up.

Shucks, I almost forgot. You have until tonight to enter the Halo Giveaway.

IF I had the legs …like yours I would totally rock them…however, I do NOT, NO WAY, NO HOW therefore I wear only capris or longer to the gym. No body wants to see these spidery vein cottage cheese looking things I call my legs up close.

But I know, I know….think positive….they move, they get me from point A to point B and most days they don’t hurt or ache so I am really not complaining just thanking Eve a little secretly for tasting that apple and giving us clothes! ha!

Every night I eat the same dessert (unless I am out of course getting my favorite cake or ice cream) – sliced giant green apple with crunch time peanut butter and dark chocolate on top. Such a simple winning delicious combination that I cannot deviate from it!

Short shorts? I’m a big fan of them in the summer, mostly because I turn into a soggy puddle, so the less fabric the better. 🙂

  4. 4

Favorite dessert…I think you know mine is roasted kabocha with peanut flour chia fudge topping! I’m weird about showing off my butt when I workout. Is that weird? I don’t mind short, but I don’t think I can do short and tight. You look super cute in those!

  5. 5

need to try out that cake batter ice cream 😉
and yes love workout shorts. they are great for motivating me more to push harder in my workouts!

  6. 6

Dessert looks amazing! After loving kabocha squash and roasted carrots I tried roasted broccoli slaw this past weekend. I’m a big fan! I love all the new food ideas I get from your blog.

    Stefanie says:

I like to wear shorts especially Nike Pro Compression shorts for my workouts because of all the fun and different patterns they come out with! I usually wear them on my runs and races except in longer races like half marathons where I wear shorts that have built in little pockets for my GU! 🙂

    Jillian says:

Fav dessert obsession lately? – would have to be these mini peanut butter cups from trader joes. There’s absolutely nothing redeeming about them but I bought them to put in some trail mix during Ragnar, and I’ve been seriously addicted since. They’e good stuff!

    Mary Ann says:

Not really a short short gal… but I have been rocking some short shorts under my regular shorts for extra support/ recovery!!! I just love the feel, but like you, a bit self-conscious of what may or may not be “showing” while running!!!! After having twins… you never know what the body may decide to “let loose!” LOL

  18. 18
    Sheila Gibson says:

Those are the type of shorts I would wear when doing Core Power Hour class. All those leg raises, bending, push-ups, etc….a girl needs to be able to tightly cover her butt since it’s always a mixed gender class. It’s getting too hot for the running capris these days.

  19. 19
    Kori L. says:

I only wear short workout shorts when I’m home doing a crazy cardio workout by myself 😉 but I love them and I have ran in them and they’re so comfortable!

I have only worn the short shorts for Bikram Yoga…it’s the only place in public I could justify wearing them and baring all this leg (I’m 5’11”!!)
I also jam in them running around the house for crazy cardio cleaning!

  22. 22
    Meg says:

If I had cute shorts like that I would sport them during my bike rides. Just bought a bike and it has become my new (re-discovered) obsession! Just in time to tone the legs for summer and those cute shorts 🙂

The prize winning dessert lately has been your microwave low cal chocolate mug cake! I have my better half requesting it as his dessert now! And topped with low cal peanut butter frosting of course! Loving your recipes. Quick, simple and incredibly delicious!

and FROYO is my dessert obsession every day 😀

  38. 38

    Andrea says:

  42. 42
    Amanda N says:

Short Shorts…..depends on the activity and the weather/temperature of the room for me. Certainly good on a really hot day for a run or for hot yoga! I’m all about the ice cream lately especially if its peanut butter flavored or has chunks of it. MMmmm

My fav dessert lately is a green apple dipped in a pb2/dark cocoa powder/almond milk combo.

  53. 53
    Jill Morris says:

I like short shorts for running and for around the house. I teach classes at the gym, too, and have learned the hard way that short shorts do not belong there. Ha. I would try the Reebok ONE shorts out in class probably because they are more fitted and probably wouldn’t create a scene 🙂

  54. 54
    Anna says:

It was hot yesterday so I broke out a pair of my shorts. It takes some getting used to and I felt almost naked at the gym but it was a lot cooler temperature-wise. I should apologize to the people who had to deal with my pasty and jiggly legs at the gym. I do love the shorts though and will continue to wear them.

  55. 55

I would love to try these shorts while doing some crossfit—but I’m sure they would also be used doing some cleaning cardio. =)

  59. 59

Short shorts have a place in many aspects of my life. Running (training and especially racing), and especially around the house. Cleaning and just getting things done seems much better in shorts, especially when it’s warm (when its cold, short shorts still get worn in the house, usually just with tall compression socks or something of the sort).

The biggest aspect though is racing. I feel constricted in anything but short shorts for racing (with a lot of glide, thanks to my big thighs). I’ll wear capris or leggings if its super cold, but usually I won’t race in much besides shorts.

  60. 60
    Cristi Rae says:

I always wear short shorts when I’m strength training– at home!! My ultimate goal is to sculpt the kind of legs that would make me comfortable sporting them at the gym. I’m working on that. =)

I can’t work out right now but I would wear them around the house!

    Jill says:

I love the short -shorts. Thank you.

  64. 64

usually i wear more baggy shorts when i run, which is fine for running, but when you’re out in public not as great because well they’re baggy, so i think work out shorts would be great! especially if youre doing cardio.

  65. 65
    Jenny says:

If I had legs like yours I would wear them to the gym. I wear mine to run and at home cleaning. I usually wear capris to the gym. Thanks for the giveaway.

  74. 74
    Cassidy says:

I’m going to answer two questions. >:3D <— You like my French smiley?

Kristin, you've really inspired me to start running, so I would be running myself silly with these hot shorts on. I dropped some weight last year, so all of my shorts are way too big…they're a little hard to run in. So these would get rid of the worst excuse in the world NOT to go on runs. 😛

AND. I've really been digging protein ice cream! Just a frozen banana, half a scoop of vanilla whey, and maybe some spinach to make it green. Mmm. It's perfect in the afternoons.

    And now I'll stop blathering~ 🙂

  75. 75
    morgan says:

short shorts in the house by myself only but I rock them @ home! I prefer to workout in capris but do love the shorties at home. Reebok’s new gear is awesome, picked up a pair of the crossfit capris & have to do laundry to wear them all the time!
new dessert obsession- huge bowl of: protein powder, plain greek yogurt, egg whites & almond milk barely cooked into a “pudding” and topped with layers of assorted fruit, sprinkles &/or nuts 🙂 usually its chocolate but sometimes vanilla flavored with a dash of cream of tartar & vanilla nut butter flavoring for cake batter!

  76. 76
    Laura Stern says:

I love to run or lift upper body in shorts! And, I love anything you wear 😉

    Those shorts are VERY cute!

  78. 78

I only run in workout shorts (even if they are pretty short!), otherwise I get too warm and uncomfortable! I would love to wear these reebok shorts for runs this summer 🙂

I think it depends on the workout! A high intensity workout such as HITT or BOOTCAMP would not work out with shorts for me personally. I would save the shorts for Zumba or spin and running! Thanks!

I might be long winded sometimes too…. so I’ll answer 2 questions. 1. I was just thinking the other day that I might be ready to start wearing short shorts to work out in. There’s an outdoor boot camp I like and I hate being too hot. 2. I’ve been loving putting vanilla chobani, a sliced up banana, and some mini chocolate chips into an almost empty peanut butter jar.

Short workout shorts are either really awesome or totally horrible for me. It’s weird, but I love running in short shorts in the rain. They stay put when it’s pouring, and not many people are out there to see me in them anyway 😉
