Catching Up- Just a Mess of Stuff

Well good morning! Hey, no recaps today, just a mess of stuff I’ve been saving for you. Lucky.

Thursday Workouts:

A little over 5 miles with the stroller- slow jogging to check our mailbox. Very slow with a pretty substantial rest stop to mail some thing in the middle. Not the best idea to go for a jog since my leg is still hurting from all the fun last weekend, but hey, I had some pretty cute guys that wanted a breakfast cruise.

Not to mention a pretty matchy matchy outfit that needed to be out and about. Had to try out my new Mizuno Meridian shorts and Costco tank top that I just got for $12.

Ha. Don’t you love it when your socks match your shoes?

Oh wait, speaking of socks, I just got my Pro Compression Socks of the Month yesterday.

Order them here and use code SOM5 for 40% off and free shipping. We can be mellow yellow twins this summer.

Oh wait, speaking of discounts, there’s only a few days left for FREE SHIPPING on any Halo products from the website. Just use code HALOSHIP515. Visors, hats, head bands, custom head bands (like this cool one we got to wear for the relay),

you name it.

You can even get a yellow hairband to match the socks of the month. He he.

Last night I taught my usual two classes at the Y- Y50X HITT class followed by full body group strength training.

Someone asked about the strength training I do. I guess I don’t talk about it on here much, but I try to make sure to get at least two days of resistance/strength work in a week. Rarely is it with machines. It’s usually just with my classes using bands and weights. Really, that’s all you need for basic stuff. I can write up a post with my go to moves that I use regularly.

We’ve been trying to take it easy over here this week. Sleeping in a little longer

and getting a few extra snuggles.

I’ve made this key lime pie muffin a few times. Funny how you have something once for breakfast and then you crave it like every single day for a week afterwards.

I really like that it travels easily.

I do not like how it sometimes decides to split in half and explode in our not that clean microwave.

But, hey, 9 times out of 10 I still eat it anyway.

Besides that muffin, I also turn that key lime protein powder into a pretty fabulous pancake the other day.

I topped that bad boy with some sugar free maple syrup and it was fabulous. In fact, I may be making one here very shortly to start my day. I’m sure it would work with other protein powder flavors too.

Confession time. This bag of Love Grown Foods Cocoa Goodness was opened earlier this week.

I’m pretty sure it was gone in less than 36 hours. Not totally sure- it was a blur. This week has been a bit of a blur actually, but my favorite way I did it up was like this.

In the bowl- Chobani banana yogurt (mixed with a little almond milk), Cocoa Goodness granola, PB2 and a scoop of NuttZo.

Mmmm hmmm….

In other news I got the cutest shirt from Believe I Am that we picked up at the mailbox yesterday during our outing.

You can learn all about Believe I Am and how they and the whole #sistersinsport came about here. The company was created by two professional runners who discovered the use of “visual” clues to help women succeed in life and sports. I love the whole wearing a message and believing in yourself thing they have going on.

The tank top I got is the “I AM STRONG” one.

It just makes you feel empowered, doesn’t it? I think I might have to sport that out and about today.

Okay, I’m off. I’m so stinking excited to be home this weekend and spend time with my men.

Stay tuned, my next post has a little fun Mother’s Day giveaway for you.

It may or may not have something to do with this.

Have a good one!

I have those tank tops from Costco too! I think I’ve bought them in 4 different colors already! Weird I know, but I’ve found that if you like Costco clothing you’ve got to get it while you can! They’re great for running and yoga! Have a great weekend! :)

The pic of him & Kitty sleeping is just way too sweat! Moments like that are precious. And I would’ve eaten the muffin off the floor if it went that far :)

I know it’s not funny, but every time you post that your muffin flies out of the mug I do laugh. Your microwave is angry at those protein muffins. And YES to that Costco t-shirt. It’s amazing the things you can find at that awesome store. :) Happy Friday! XOXO

I’m just wondering–you keep saying that you’re going to take it easy and let yourself heal but then you mention spending an hour on the elliptical plus more on the stair master plus teaching a few HIIT classes. How do you expect to heal this way?!

I would also like to see what you do for strength training-especially the exercises you use to tone glute and leg muscles. That is my area of difficulty. I am a runner too-so most of the time I am doing tons of cardio but my inner thighs and butt need more toning!
