I Forgot Some Things and a Trick



Taught a spin class

Elliptical for 45 minutes afterwards (I think it may have been the longest 45 minutes of my life. Just kidding.)


I forgot my phone this morning. While I was bummed I was missing some of my new spin songs, it was actually kind of nice not having it around.

Not that you care, but I frequently forget either my wallet or my phone when I go to the gym to teach classes. It’s weird. I think it’s because I’m always switching bags.


Oh I totally forgot to show you how cool these new outfits I got for the boys are too.


They better wear them.

I got them during my Old Navy trip and I’m currently wearing those shorts again that I got too.

I took pictures of my post workout eats, so I feel like showing you.



Chicken apple sausage, eggs and cabbage made with coconut oil and a bunch of different seasonings.

I forgot how fun scrambled eggs and cabbage are together. The coconut oil gave it just enough sweetness so it was a little savory sweet type thing.

It will be done again soon.


The follow up meal was roasted sweet spaghetti squash (minus the sweetener), a roasted apple and an unsweetened version of coconut cookie dough crumble.


Topped with coconut oil and Peanut Free NuttZo.

Mmm hmm….

Dang it though. Now I’m out of spaghetti squash AND kabocha.

What am I going to do?


Maybe I should try this trick next time my squash craving strikes before I have time to go to the store.

I got a really good trick from my Whole 30 email today that I just had to share. I’ve never heard of it, but I bet it works and it’s kind of funny.

Steamed fish and broccoli: This next trick is a bit simpler, and brutally effective. The next time you get a hankering for something to eat (and are wondering if it’s just a craving), ask yourself, “Am I hungry enough to eat steamed fish and broccoli right now?” If the answer is no… you’re not really hungry, you’re just craving, so act accordingly. If the answer is yes, then you really are hungry! Time to eat… read on to see what the perfect craving-busting meal should look like.

In the same email they also say to nap it off. Yeah, we know how naps go around here. That might not work for me, but it’s worth a shot. Especially like right now because I’m starting to hit a wall.

Any fun plans?

We’ve had the season finale of The Office on DVR for a couple weeks now and I can’t wait to watch it. It would be so fun to watch it with a glass of wine. Oh wait, that’s right, no wine for how many more days? Ugh.

    I am always switching bags too that I often forget something or get super nervous when I go to pay at the grocery store that my wallet will be missing (since it has happened before)…I don’t even know which I prefer to be without sometimes lol. If I am not going to buy anything anywhere, I don’t mind the wallet being missing as much as the phone. I once lost my phone for 4 hours (in the gym) and it was a weird 4 hours. By the end I had gotten used to it and it was kind of freeing. lol

    I have turned my car around many times because I forgot my phone!! I usually justify it (in my mind!!) by saying that I have to have my phone in case my boys need to get ahold of me but really it is just because I hate to not have it!!!
    Those outfits for your boys are super cute – I used to love making my boys wear cute stuff like that!!!

    I forget stuff all the time! I have had to borrow $5 for gas to get home from work so many times. Ill put my wallet in my gym bag and plan in stopping after the gym then need a shower to bad to stop and end up forgetting I moved my wallet.

    I walk, now that I live in NYC so no wallet and keep the phone in my locker unless I am on call for work. LOVE the freedom. I don’t have kids though. And I do the would you eat an apple? If not then ur not hungry. I can say it but can I do it? Nope

    And…..I am a HUGE power napper. 20-60 min does me good. I wake up ravenous though. But nap most days:)

    The fish picture is so gross! If I went off of that scale, I might never eat 🙂 haha. It’s been fun reading about someone else’s experience doing The Whole 30. You’re doing great…keep it up!
