A slew of classes- spin, kid’s, Y50X (HIIT), step.
- sprints in spin to “Can’t Hold Us” by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis
- toilet tag in my kid’s class
- frog jumps forward and back with a burpee in my Y50X class
- for once I only totally messed up my cuing once instead of the usual 3-4 in my step class
I usually change my clothes at some point on Mondays in between all my classes. Today, I kept the same Lorna Jane tank on all day. I figured there were enough layers with my Handful bra and pads underneath that it wasn’t that gross. I may have been wrong. At least I changed my shorts.
I actually don’t even really care though because I got to do this to end the evening. It was brilliant.
Seriously, having these new Mizuno Wave Sayonara shoes on my feet
and being able to do just a couple slower than slow miles by the ocean
was the perfect end to the day.
More running chat to come. It’s been weeks since I’ve even attempted running. I have a whole bunch of built up emotion and talk about where I’m at with the whole injury thing and running and all, but I’m too tired to get into it now.
Some eats of the day. (Disclaimer- Not all of them. Just a few of the ones I feel like talking about.)
Breakfast was egg whites from my huge jugs with coconut oil and cabbage and chicken sausage.
Definitely won’t be trying to eat that in the car again. It wasn’t easy.
Lunch was better.
I try to make a point of sitting down for a good healthy lunch and having the boys do the same. They’re usually distracted and what not and don’t really sit and eat like I would like them to, but I try.
Toddler lunch- veggie burger with cheese on a whole grain sandwich thin, carrots and whole grain chips with Trader Joe’s guacamole.
My lunch was pretty great. If I’m ever really proud of my huge lunch or snack bowl I usually have to post it on instagram right away. Is anyone else like that?
Oh heck yeah, this was on there. A salad bag from Trader Joe’s topped with leftover chicken from Father’s Day (that I had in the freezer) topped with some of that new habanero hot sauce I’ve been loving and TJ’s Everyday Seasoning with roasted carrots and roasted jicama chips and guacamole on the side.
Marvelous. Even if we have a super busy day, I have to make time to eat a good lunch.
We had a quick discussion during lunch about how it’s important to eat fruits and vegetables every day (after Joaquin told me he didn’t want his carrots). Here’s how it went down:
Me- “It’s important to eat fruits and vegetables everyday to be healthy.”
Joaquin- “and chocolate.”
Oh those darn lists.
My spin lists could use a little organizing.
Isn’t that nice. Sweaty notes everywhere.
Um, and yeah, I still haven’t gotten to that grocery list or anything yet. We’ve got big plans to go to the Farmer’s market tomorrow though, so I guess I’ll just see what kind of goodies and ginormous produce they have there.
Since I didn’t make it to the store, I was out of burgers and turkey meat for my meatza pizza tonight (the easiest throw together meal after a long night of teaching) so I had to resort to using frozen halibut instead and topped that with some marinara.
Not that great. Really, not that great. Don’t try it.
But, piling all kinds of other burnt things on it and eating it with a Flat Kitty by my side made it a little better.
And now that I just made myself eat that, I realize just how great the turkey style meatza pizzas I’ve been making are. They are so much better.
I’m also realizing I really need a sweetener free dark chocolate cup.
Beavis. I don’t have any of those made at the moment either.
And now, well, now I’m too tired to write out the recipes I was going to share.
I’m on a roll tonight.
Oh well, part of my whole STUFT detox (and taking care of myself and healing plan) is resting, so I’m hitting the sack.
You know they say to turn off electronics at least an hour before you go to bed?
I rarely do that. Do you?
