A Rest Day Means Pampering and Wedding Prep Right?

Want to see something?

Bummer right? Poor guy. Just in time for his big debut as a ring bearer at the wedding tomorrow. Like father like son though. STUFT Daddy is notorious for having a black eye, cut, scrape, etc. somewhere on his ace for all special occasions.

He even got a black eye (from a huge bird at work) just for the arrival of our boys 3 1/2 years ago. You can’t really tell in this picture, but trust me, it’s there.

Let’s see. I said I was going to stay away from the sweetener free roasted kabocha squash until the wedding, but I had this little gem chilling in the fridge for me this fine morning. Kind of shocking I had leftovers. Trying to space out the bloat a bit. Ha ha.

Cold cocoa roasted squash in an almost empty Peanut Free NuttZo jar is pretty darn close to summer perfection in my book.

Yes, if you must know, I am already through another jar of this stuff. I stopped keeping track how long it takes me.

Today is a rest day for me.

Being smart and letting my body rest is something I’m really working on as I’m easing back into the running thing.

I had another prolotherapy appointment this morning.

I’m supposed to rest and take it easy for 24 hours afterwards.

Um, okay.

I took that as stopping to get my nails done for the first time in about a year. A family wedding is a special occasion, right?

Well, being the genius that I am, I misjudged how long it took and was then late to my hair appointment. I had to try to attempt to make it up to my dear friend who has to deal with this mop with some iced coffee.

Um, and yes, if you follow me on instagram, you know that I am aware of my manhands.

Oh hey, look who else showed up at the salon to get some hair cuts.

Someone was a little more excited than his brother about the whole thing.

We all survived though thanks to the “super hero cape”.

Back at home and I inhaled this magnificent salad for my late lunch.

In the huge bowl- lettuce, broccoli slaw, red onion, tomatoes, roasted chicken, turkey bacon, avocado and a couple home grown Serrano chilies topped with Trader Joe’s Everyday Seasoning, Slap Yo Mama seasoning, Tapatio and Cholula.

And now I have just enough time to try to get us all to look presentable for the rehearsal.

Fingers crossed all goes well. The boys get to carry the rings in little bird nests. Cute huh?

Happy Friday friends!

Enjoy your weekend! Ours over here is all about family!

Enjoy your family weekend! Weddings are always fun & a great way to catch up with people you haven’t seen in along time. My perfect rest day would me shopping (more than likely for workout clothes, I’m addicted) & mani/pedis, along with the beach would be wonderful!
P.S. – I have “man hands” like you too! We must embrace them 🙂

I eat cold roasted kabocha squash for my afternoon whenever I have it in the house. I actually think I might like it best cold. I hope you have an amazing time at the wedding!

Out to eat, maybe a facial, haircut and nails. Other wise, shopping with my girls (which is what I did today) even though it wasn’t a “rest day” and we had a great time.

Tomorrow is mom and son day as we are going to see the Monsters Inc. movie that is currently out….secretly I can’t wait too. 😉
